A Chicago-area high school “literacy coach” recently recorded a video of herself in which she admits to indoctrinating the students in her charge. Fox News reports Crete-Monee High’s Heather Marie Godbout (pictured), a member of the school’s Equity Team, also rips “right-wing conspiracy theorist nut jobs” in her video and notes she is opposed to traditional grading policies — because grades get “conflated with other things that aren’t actually learning, like effort or ‘work ethic,’ whatever that means.”(Snip)Godbout says believes conservatives “are legitimately trying to bring down our democracy,” create “a Christian nationalist theocracy” and “literally un-alive people.” Thus, they aren’t worthy of respect.

What gives a teacher the right to teach anything other then teach the subject they are suppose to teach. And, going behind the backs of parents to do what they want to do. Students do not need to know the political beliefs, the sexual preferences of the person who is suppose to be teaching reading, writing or math. We brought home a schedule of our upcoming classes that had to be approved and signed by a parent. Looks like we need to get this back into the schools.

This is how you destroy a society on purpose. In Chicago the big money used to flow to the politicians from police , fire, & streets and sanitation. For the past 15 years or so the money flows from the teachers union. There are high schools there that physically are built to hold 5,000 students that only have less than a thousand. Yet those high schools are fully staffed. And those high schools have enough local kids to fill them.

Students who can think for themselves aren't that easy to indoctrinate. They can be very challenging, which might explain the obvious anger burdening this teacher. Other times, they're likely to keep their mouths shut to avoid upsetting certain teachers. Imagine being a student holding ideas or points of view not consistent with lesson plans designed to discourage "wrong think." I'm guessing student efforts to explore thinking outside the "approved" beliefs or opinions will not be any more welcome in such classrooms, than parents challenging school boards over newly developed theories blaming racial oppression for social and economic stratification. When school districts are comfortable disrespecting parents, it not surprising that students who can think for themselves might hesitate to show they've developed that skill.

Maybe the reason Heather dismisses effort and work ethic has something to do with her own lack of effort and work ethic. While grades aren't learning, they are used to measure and track learning and to compare the work of different students in a relevant way.

You'd think with all the literacy coaches school districts employ that reading scores would be a lot higher. I guess you have to keep the need in order to supply workers for the job. The left actually believes in supply and demand. They create a problem and commit money or resources to fix the problem they create. Skunks!

Just because they don't report it doesn't make it factual. If there is no border crisis why is Biden ordering Arizona to remove the shipping containers ???

The absurdity of the concept of reparations for slavery, an institution that ended several generations ago, is beyond mind-boggling. But there’s a blatantly cynical reason for the sudden lurch in that direction: formerly reliable Black voters are now slipping away from the Democrats. This also explains Biden’s recently expressed profuse generosity towards the nations of sub-Saharan Africa. What is also painfully obvious is the lame, demagogic pandering that is the Democrats’ knee-jerk response, especially to a defecting constituency: just throw money at them and that’ll keep ‘em on the reservation.
