Seven more members of the House Freedom Caucus are threatening to oppose Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy's ascension to be the next House speaker unless they win concessions on congressional rules. Freedom Caucus lawmakers told Fox News Digital that they want McCarthy, R-Calif., to start getting serious about concessions on these rules or risk losing their support. The GOP lawmakers, led by House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Scott Perry of Pennsylvania and Rep. Chip Roy of Texas, outlined their demands in a letter circulated to colleagues late Thursday. "The American people send us to Washington to do what we said we would do – namely, to limit spending and

I don't trust ANY establishment RINO to keep any promises made. I assume the Freedom Caucus is very aware of this problem.

FTA: "We must have a clear policy — and that message must be sent to leadership-affiliated PACs — to avoid undermining the trust of those they will eventually have to lead and inserting themselves into local elections," the lawmakers wrote. This is what this is all about, the Speaker's PAC connections. The fear they have is running afoul of leadership and getting "primaried" by a well-funded opponent. (They're betting the farm on this in more ways than one.) They know well that their $20 contributors can't offset the potential millions that could be arrayed against them.

Every demand is entirely reasonable. Except for....any Congress critter can at anytime call for a vote to remove the speaker. That just invites Democrats to blow up the house daily.

I think McCarthy will kneel at the altar of Mitch McConnell, and rhino, spineless Republicans talk the talk but then cave to the Dems every time. New leadership is what is needed in both houses, but it was easier to vote Mitch back in than to oppose him, same here with McCarthy, with the exception of just a few. We need more than a few principled Republicans we need and entire party of backboned, stand up and fight, Republicans, and right now they are not to be found.

Quit playing with us. McCarty shouldn't be speaker for so many reasons, but you're telling us if he just gets those darn rules right, you'll vote for him? He doesn't believe in the Freedom Caucus' goals. Once he gets the position, all bets are off. Get real. Where are all those MAGA candidates MTG claims are in the Congress?

McCarthy desperately wants the Speakership. He will agree to the terms, but I seriously doubt he will honor the agreement once he is elected. I do believe he will outwardly push to the right but his heart is with the status quo which means he is GOPe through and through. It all comes down to what McCarthy is willing to do to get the votes.

Re: "The lawmakers are demanding that all legislation focus on a single topic, be publicly available for 72 hours before a vote so that it can be read, and receive a full debate with the ability to offer and vote on amendments. Conservatives also want to see major legislation next Congress, from the farm bill to the national defense policy act, include provisions checking President Biden's administration." In my opinion, this should have already been in effect. This bundling is pathetic that a bunch of spending has always been stuck in the middle of a bill where no one but the inserter knows what it is about!

Notice the main argument being tossed out for the worthless, corrupt stealth democrat McCarthy is that if he is not Speaker than some Rhinos will get with democrats and elect a democrat Speaker but what does this argument really say? It says that unlike that evil demonic Pelosi and her fellow democrat demons in the House who will band together no matter what the issue, the republicans will not honor the wishes of their voters and make sure a republican will be Speaker, but in effect are stealth democrats who hold us in the greatest contempt and will stab us in the back. No McCarthy, No McConnell, No McDaniel and that is just a start if the republican party is to stay in existence.

When Elon Musk reached an agreement to acquire Twitter for $44 billion in October, the deal was met with a wave of outrage from the left. Democrats spanning the nation condemned the acquisition, claiming that it was “dangerous” for America. Now, we’re starting to figure out why. After the release of the “Twitter Files” last week, which documented the censorship of the accurate New York Post report about Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 election, the left is panicking. From bringing former president Donald Trump back to the platform, to shining a light on the corruption that plagued Twitter prior to his takeover of the company

Elon Musk’s release of the "Twitter Files," showing behind the scenes efforts to suppress the New York Post’s bombshell Hunter Biden laptop story didn’t just break news, it was also an attempt to break the legacy media’s grip on news itself. Instead of appearing on 60 minutes, as most CEO’s would, or giving the internal materials to the New York Times or Washington Post, Musk handed the story to independent journalists Matt Taiibi and Bari Weiss and then broke the story on his own platform. Not only that, he teased the release to create a kind of appointment viewing for the document dump.

“1984” author George Orwell warned that “if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.” That line has never been more relevant than in the aftermath of the second release of Twitter documents this week. Many liberals had denied the social-media giant was engaging in censorship by using the more pleasant term “content modification.” Now, documents show Twitter executives burying “disfavored” views as “visibility filtering” and “amplification” limits. Calling executives the “Head of Legal, Policy, and Trust” (Vijaya Gadde) and the “Global Head of Trust & Safety” (Yoel Roth) doesn’t alter their status as some of the greatest censors in history.

The second installment of Elon Musk's so-called "Twitter Files" shed light on the company's practices of secretly "blacklisting" certain tweets and users. "A new #TwitterFiles investigation reveals that teams of Twitter employees build blacklists, prevent disfavored tweets from trending, and actively limit the visibility of entire accounts or even trending topics—all in secret, without informing users," journalist Bari Weiss began her thread on Thursday. "Twitter once had a mission ‘to give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers.’ Along the way, barriers nevertheless were erected," Weiss wrote. She pointed to Stanford University's Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, a longstanding opponent of COVID groupthink during the pandemic

The Georgia runoff is over. Raphael Warnock came out on top (as expected). And Republicans are once again running the “quality candidate” canard as the reason for Herschel Walker’s loss (in addition to the overblown, overused, Trump scapegoat). Yet despite the fact Walker was outspent by Warnock nearly 3 to 1 (Warnock spent $126,232,942 to Walker’s $48,455,356), Walker performed remarkably well, netting 48.6 percent of the vote to Warnock’s 51.4 percent. This as Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp only came out in full force for Walker after he coasted to reelection in November (loaning his field organizing team to the Senate Leadership Fund — the GOP’s Senate super PAC which backed Walker).

Now that the U.S. Senate run-off in Georgia between Herschel Walker and Sen. Raphael Warnock is behind us, the final results of the 2022 midterm elections are in. This is an opportune moment to examine what happened at the polls and what we can expect from the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives in the 118th Congress starting in January 2023. With incumbent Raphael Warnock’s victory, Democrats will return to Washington with a 51 to 49 majority in the U.S. Senate. Although Senate Democrats only managed a net pick-up of one seat this election cycle despite an extremely favorable map, that lone seat carries with it great significance.

Every Georgian must vote on Dec. 6 – especially Republicans and independents. The U.S. Senate runoff is too important to skip. Herschel Walker’s election is crucial to Georgia and all of America. Despite some misconceptions that the Georgia runoff won’t have a major impact, the difference between a 50-50 Senate and a 51-49 Senate is enormous. Vice President Kamala Harris can break ties on the Senate floor – but not in committees. With 51 seats, Democrats would control every committee. They would be able to report out judges and other Biden administration appointees without needing any Republican votes. They would be able to schedule hearings and

It is one of the most bitter and tragic ironies of our contemporary politics that the leadership of one of America’s two major political parties, the Republican Party, utterly despises that party’s very own voting base. The GOP elite’s scorn for its own voters has, at this point, been a long time in the making. The trend accelerated during the 2009-2011 rise of the Tea Party, a grassroots movement fueled by constitutionalism and anti-elite populism. The crustier elements of the Republican establishment ran as far away as possible from the Tea Party, and the 2012 presidential coronation of private equity plutocrat Mitt Romney effectively killed the movement.

Team Trump has sometimes compared former President Donald Trump's current quest for a non-sequential second term to two-term President Grover Cleveland's similar three election bids. Cleveland remains our only elected president (1884) to have lost a reelection bid (1888) -- in a disputed vote -- only to be reelected four years later in 1892. Yet Trump seems determined instead to follow a different, and bullheaded, Teddy Roosevelt model. Roosevelt left the presidency in 1908, sat out four years, and then lost a reelection bid in 1912, split and alienated the Republican Party, and ensured the election of the progressive Woodrow Wilson.
