The first member of Generation Z to become a congressman-elect has reportedly been denied a Washington, DC, apartment due to “really bad” credit.
Democrat Maxwell Alejandro Frost will soon replace Rep. Val Demings (D) for her seat in Florida’s 10th U.S. Congressional District next month, but he will have some difficulty finding a place to hang his hat near Capitol Hill after a potential landlord denied him an apartment because of his credit score.
“Just applied to an apartment in DC where I told the guy that my credit was really bad. He said I’d be fine. Got denied, lost the apartment, and the application fee. This ain’t meant for people

Many years ago, I met a guy who was a local political operative (probably the mid 80s). Anyway, somehow the conversation turned to political campaigns and he told me that the Hubert Humphrey campaign still had a significant hotel bill still outstanding from the 1968 campaign (then nearly 20 years before). The rule I was told is that anytime you deal with a politician/political campaign, it's always cash up front.

Wouldn't even be the twentieth rep to sleep in his office. Takes a while to suckle off the public enough to get rich.

Three thoughts:
1) It is not a problem for most candidates because most people have actually, you know, accomplished something in their lives before having a chance to become an elected member of Congress.
2) Kevin McCarthy used to sleep on a cot in his office and shower at the House gym.
3) Given how many of them go from nothing to millionaires while in office, he shouldn't have any trouble getting a loan to tide him over.

I am sure that now that he is making $180,000 dollars a year his credit score will get better.
I know for sure that his bank account will when he starts earning fee's from lobbyists and insider information.

So here is a Gen Z who can't manage his own finances but he will now have the shared responsibility of managing the multi-trillion $ federal budget. Weeping for the future of our country.

Maybe Congress should think about building a large barracks with hundreds of bedrooms near Capitol Hill to house down and out members of Congress.

He can't run his own life, so he gets a job where he can run ours. Ain't leftist America great? Notice he has no shame in tweeting his situation. It's not his fault, though. He was doing something noble running for Congress (I can barely capitalize this word). He should get advice from the A$$ Of Congress; she can help him figure it out.

FTA: ''Frost faced an uphill battle to win the primary nomination against several entrenched Democrats, running on a strict left platform with soft-on-crime policies.'' In other words, his voters want to get robbed or murdered with no consequences for the perps.

Actually people, this is a legitimate gripe. This was an average Joe running for Congress. At 25, I would have been in debt if I had run for Congress. At 25, someone who is motivated SHOULD be able to run, and win (if their policies resonate with their constituency), a seat in Congress. A 25 year old conservative would have the same problem.

#21... People running for office do not pay to play with their money for the most part. Look at how much money rolls in from outside state elections. As for having bad credit by age 25, that is irresponsible. I've never floated a check and my credit score is over 800 and I was once 25. He's just another sweet talker that has joined the Washington swamp and if he keeps his nose clean will be there for the next 50 years.

All this democrat stink bug has to do is ask his outgoing Speaker of the House Pelosi for Big Daddy Warbucks aka George Soro's aka Darth Sidious' phone number. That way he can ask for a loan for some new digs. Just sign on the dotted line and he will have your soul I mean the money will be in your account shortly.
