A reparations committee in California has suggested that descendants of slaves in the state could be compensated $223,200 each for 'housing discrimination'. The nine-member Reparations Task Force was formed by California Governor Gavin Newsom as part of the country's largest ever effort to address reparations for slavery. A focus of the California task force has been 'housing discrimination' - it has been estimated that it would cost around $569billion to compensate the 2.5 million Black Californians for setbacks between 1933 and 1977, according to the New York Times.  That is more than California's $512.8billion expenditure in 2021 - which included funding for schools, hospitals, universities, highways, policing and corrections.

Far left protesters were met by riot police at the University of New Mexico Wednesday night after they appeared at an event for Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Kirk was holding a speaking engagement with the conservative organization's chapter at the school when protesters - some masked, many screaming obscenities - came out in full force.  Some were yelling out: 'F--k Charlie Kirk!' and 'F**k Erica' in reference to the local chapter president, Erica Rodriguez.

Elon Musk has announced that a wireless device developed by his brain chip company Neuralink is expected to begin human clinical trials in six months, and one of its first targeted applications is restoring vision.  The new Twitter CEO held a 'Show and Tell' event on Wednesday where he spoke about how the brain chip interfaces could enable disabled patients to move and communicate again. 'It's like replacing a piece of the skull with a smartwatch,' he said.  The first two human applications targeted by the Neuralink device will be in restoring vision and enabling movement of muscles in people who cannot do so, Musk said.

Georgia Lt. Gov Geoff Duncan (R) said Wednesday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” that after waiting in line for an hour, he declined to vote in the runoff election between Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and Georgia Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker. He said neither Senate candidate “made sense.” Duncan said, “Well, there’s a serious imbalance of energy right now. The Warnock campaign seems to be gaining seem and momentum. And every time you turn on the TV, there’s an ad running. It’s not necessarily the Walker side. I think you mentioned there was a brief five-day period where he was absent from the campaign trail.

Don’t be fooled. In the promotional interviews for her new book, The Light We Carry, Michelle Obama insists that the book is simply her personal “toolkit” about how she deals with the challenges of “uncertain times.” No, The Light We Carry is not a self-help book. It is Michelle’s crafty attempt to position herself to be the Democrat nominee for president in 2024. In fact, it is Michelle’s second autobiography, a follow up to her wildly successful 2018 memoir, Becoming. As it would have been awkward for Michelle to write a second self-promotional autobiography entitled “Becoming Part II,” the new book is released under the ruse of a self-help guide.

Since early voting commenced in the Georgia runoff between Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker, the corporate media has made much of the former’s funding advantage as if this is somehow unusual for an incumbent seeking reelection. Far more newsworthy are the sources of Warnock’s cash. The Federal Election Commission (FEC) shows that Warnock has received individual contributions totaling $65.2 million, of which 88.8 percent came from out-of-state donors.

President Biden all but declared himself as the greatest president in America’s history on Wednesday. "I tell you what," the president said. "No one’s ever done as much as president as this administration’s doing. Period." Biden spoke during the White House Tribal Nations Summit, which was to feature new announcements and efforts to put new policies in place that support Tribal communities. The summit, which takes place at the Department of the Interior, gives tribal leaders the opportunity to engage with top U.S. officials on ways to strengthen nation-to-nation relationships and ensure indigenous communities endure for years to come. As Biden spoke during the opening day

Midterm election turnout among black voters appears to be 25 percent lower than white turnout, marking the lowest share of the black electorate since 2006, a New York Times analysis revealed Wednesday. The low turnout of black voters is a strong indicator Democrats could be losing a key portion of their intersection coalition long heralded by members of the left, such as election denier House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), who has claimed the strategy a “gorgeous mosaic” and “not a cult.” Conclusive numbers have not yet been completely compiled from all 50 states, but an early snapshot of voter data suggests black voter turnout was well below the national average

Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal published an opinion piece by attorney Robin Keller describing how she lost her job at a large law firm after daring to speak up in favor of the Dobbs decision. This didn’t happen at a general staff meeting but on a conference call explicitly held to allow staffers to discuss the decision. After the Supreme Court issued its Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade in June, global law firm Hogan Lovells organized an online conference call for female employees. As a retired equity partner still actively serving clients, I was invited to participate in what was billed as a “safe space” for women
