The devil is in the news again, at least on Russian TV. Time after time, big names on state television have portrayed the current war in Ukraine not only as a struggle between Moscow and Kyiv; nor even Russia versus NATO, but as an actual contest between good and evil, with the celestial forces on the one hand and Satan on the other. Russian commentator Vladimir Solovyov admitted that ‘we were formerly Soviet atheists, but we are now a crack team of Orthodox, Muslim and Buddhist traditionalists waging a war against Satan from our base in the Kremlin.’ It’s no fluke. Last month, the Jamestown Foundation think tank

Not so sure we're on the right side this time, although I certainly understand and agree with what many others think about this battle.

Satan really gets around. Since the Russian Military Operation began (we don't have wars anymore) the amount of money sent by the USA to Ukraine is 45 billion bucks. I want any money we have sent to the USA. America First. And Last.

Of course, enemies will do whatever they can to kick our Judeo-Christian faith and moral system, essential to our wellbeing as individuals and as a society, in the groin. They, who believe only in human power, mock people of faith by seeming to invoke it. It seems that some faithless people's arguments boil down to "God doesn't exist; therefore, I hate Him." Such tidy thought by people who reject the biblical moral code, who don't like rules, or laws. Avoid such people. Ex-communist and "man of the right" (his words, to friend William F. Buckley, Jr.) Whittaker Chambers, philosophically pessimistic, predicted that the communist and non-communist worlds would eventually melt together like a massive ball of wax after the latter abandoned its principles. Liberty would be extinguished by peoples who never understood its value, looking for an easy way out: no thinking, no working. Free everything, but nothing available. Isn't socialism fine?

As bad as Arizona may be, there’s a reason that Philly still leads the nation in fraud in contested statewide elections. (I’m not going to bother mentioning New York or Los Angeles, where Karen Bass was predictably appointed mayor by way of a whole lot of late-arriving ballots for the second time.) What’s remarkable is not that things like this happen in Philly, but how unremarkable they are. Pennsylvania governor-elect Josh Shapiro, who rose to prominence by downplaying Republican claims of voter fraud, charged one of his former campaign consultants on Wednesday with “wide-scale” forgery of voter ballots. Shapiro, in his capacity as Pennsylvania attorney general,

It’s been often said that we are a nation of laws. Judicial supremacism is the opposite of a nation of laws. It’s a system under which judges legislate to suit their own whims with no limits on their power. Even by the standards of resistance judicial activism, this one is really something. A Georgia judge on Tuesday found the state’s six-week abortion ban to be “plainly unconstitutional” and has barred it from being enforced. Which Constitution? The Living Infants Fairness and Equality (LIFE) Act in Georgia bans abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detectable, generally around six weeks into a pregnancy. The bill passed in 2019 but was found

The in-house performance coach at FTX claimed Tuesday the doomed crypto firm’s headquarters in the Bahamas was a “pretty tame place” — despite rampant speculation about its executives’ sex lives and alleged substance use. Online gossip alleging the group lived in a “polycule” — or network of polyamorous relationships — surged after CoinDesk reported the executives “are, or used to be, paired up in romantic relationships with each other.” Dr. George K. Lerner, a psychiatrist, reportedly served as a therapist to disgraced FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried and an adviser to many of the firm’s employees. Bankman-Fried and his ex-lover Caroline Ellison were reportedly part of a 10-person group that ran FTX

The D.C. Council unanimously passed a bill on Tuesday that would overhaul the city’s criminal code for the first time in more than 100 years. The council sent the bill to Mayor Muriel Bowser to sign into law. The Revised Criminal Code Act of 2022 and its revisions have been shaped by the D.C. Criminal Code Reform Commission. It has been through numerous public hearings, but parts of the measure are opposed by Bowser and police Chief Robert Contee. The bill’s principal sponsor, Ward 6 Council member Charles Allen, who also chairs the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety, said the measure is meant to modernize the criminal code

Killips was awarded the victor’s trophy and was photographed on the top ceremonial pedestal next to second-place cyclist Ava Holmgren, who finished the race one second behind Killips, and third-place cyclist Lizzy Gunsalus, who had a time of 50:31. The second- and third-place finishers are women. The next day, Killips placed third on the second day

It all started with Holocaust deniers. That phrase has a clear meaning: it refers to someone who denies that the Holocaust took place. But liberals saw potential in the locution, an opportunity to disqualify their opponents without actually making an argument. Thus, they started labeling people as “climate deniers.” What does that mean? Someone who denies that we have a climate? There is no such person. Someone who denies that our climate changes? There is no such person. No: a “climate denier” is anyone who questions any of a long list of theories that liberals string together to justify devastating our standard of living for no good reason.

The U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ordered a nationwide injunction pending appeal against President Joe Biden’s student loan debt forgiveness program Monday, adding to previous legal action blocking the plan. The program seeks to forgive $10,000 in federal student loan debt for individuals with incomes under $125,000 and up to $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients, with the Biden administration claiming it had the authority to institute the program under the HEROES Act of 2003 and an emergency situation sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic. Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas and South Carolina had filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration in late September over the program,

Old Joe Biden, the ostensible president of the United States, on Wednesday held one of his Potemkin press conferences before the gathering of sycophants and propagandists known as the White House press corps. When a reporter said that Trump’s movement was “still very strong,” Biden laughed derisively and said, “Oh yeah?” He added, “Well, we just have to demonstrate that he will not take power by — if we — if he does run. I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next President again.” How can he make sure of that? He didn’t say, and of course the sycophants didn’t ask.

NEW YORK — Sam Bankman-Fried received numerous plaudits as he rapidly achieved superstar status as the head of cryptocurrency exchange FTX: the savior of crypto, the newest force in Democratic politics and potentially the world's first trillionaire. Now the comments about the 30-year-old Bankman-Fried range from bemused to hostile after FTX filed for bankruptcy protection Friday, leaving his investors and customers feeling duped and many others in the crypto world fearing the repercussions. Bankman-Fried himself could face civil or criminal charges. "I've known him for a number of years and what just happened is just shocking," said Jeremy Allaire, the co-founder and CEO of cryptocurrency company Circle.

Faced with questions about his ability to lead after the midterm election debacle, a defiant Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell deflected blame from his own culpability in the Democrats retaining control of the upper chamber and instead blamed it on public dissatisfaction with MAGA candidates. The embattled McConnell spoke to reporters on Tuesday, defending his dismal performance and the refusal to adequately fund candidates who were endorsed by former and perhaps future President Donald J. Trump such as Blake Masters in Arizona, instead spending money to support RINO Lisa Murkowski in Alaska against her America first opponent, also a Republican.

'We're short of workers, we have a population that is not reproducing on its own with the same level that it used to,' the New York Democrat reasoned. 'The only way we're going to have a great future is if we welcome and embrace immigrants… get a path to citizenship for all 11 million or however many there are here.'
