Former President Donald Trump, aiming to become only the second commander-in-chief ever elected to two nonconsecutive terms, announced Tuesday night that he will seek the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. “In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump said.

This is one bright spot in a dismal mid term election cycle. The democrats will crank up the investigation machine to try and get him. They'll be using the "Show me the man and I'll show you the crime" approach to try and stop Trump. MAGA

I am so glad to hear this. Donald Trump is the only person in this country that has the experience and brass cajones to take on the Demon-Rats in 2024, and then undo so much of the damage that the will have done in the previous 4 years!!!! As far as I am concerned, Trump can make all the mean Tweets, and call his opponents all the names he wants, if he can save our republic!!!!!!

I’ll keep my powder dry. I’m with #6. First cheap shots at his challengers, including Pence and Pompeo, and I’m done. The next question is how long before the first indictment, whether Federal or NY state. I predict not long. The UNIPARTY needs to nip this in the bud.

Lest we forget, the HATE against TRUMP is widespread in the Demonrat Socialist Marxist party. MILLIONS of voters DID NOT vote for the Vegetable, the voted AGAINST TRUMP, and they will do so again. DeSantis would be unwise to "wait his turn". Those who did LOST BIG. Just ask Bob Dole, John McPain, and Mittens Romney.

Gave me goosebumps. His record speaks for itself. BTW, Dole, McCain and Romney will never be in Trump's league. If Trump can't win, nobody can. Those same D's who hate Trump will hate DeSantis or Pompeo or Chisty or anyone else who runs. It will be about his accomplishments vs the Vegetable's. Hope he keeps looking through the windshield and not the rear-view window (thanks, Gov H).

Kevin McCarthy came up short once again on Thursday as he lost the seventh House vote to elect a new speaker. The outcome will only increase pressure on McCarthy to end the impasse over his imperiled speakership bid, but it is unclear whether he will be able to pull it off as the situation grows increasingly dire for his future political prospects. When Dashi Ergys was shot to death in an upscale Guayaquil restaurant in January, the media provided little information about him other than that he was Albanian. Despite the fact that he appeared to be specially targeted, many people assumed he was a tourist who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was more than a month later that a National Police commander revealed in comments during a radio interview that Ergys was under investigation for drug trafficking and that he was probably part of an Albanian mafia operating in Guayaquil, Manta and Esmeraldas, involved in shipping illegal drugs to Europe.

Bishop Rolando Álvarez had been confined to his residence for two weeks along with five priests, a semanarian, and a cameraman of a religious televison channel. The Priests and cameraman have reportedly been put in prison in the Capital, while the Bishop is under house arrest. A Police statement said authorities had been waiting for several days for what they called a positive communication from the Diocese of Matagalpa, which had not been forthcoming. No formal charges have been announced.

President Joe Biden, the first Catholic Commander in Chief in some six decades who proclaims himself to be a "devout" follower of the church's teachings, won't be attending the funeral of Pope Benedict XVI following his passing last week.  If it seems strange that such a close follower of the Catholic Church would not attend the final goodbye to the previous Holy Father — not to mention passing on a chance to get out of D.C. for a few days as he seemingly does whenever possible — it's because it wasn't Biden's choice. At least not completely.

Rep. Lauren Boebert said her 'favorite president' Donald Trump should call GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and tell him 'it's time to withdraw' after the House failed to make the California Republican its Speaker after four rounds of voting.  The Colorado Republican noted that Trump had been calling McCarthy's opposition and telling them to change their vote.  'I think it actually needs to be reversed. The president needs to tell Kevin McCarthy that, sir, you do not have the votes and it's time to withdraw,' she said at the start of the fifth vote.

First Lady Jill Biden is set to have a procedure to have a 'small lesion' above her right eye removed. The lesion was discovered by Dr. Kevin O'Connor, Physician to the President, during a 'routine skin cancer screening.' Vanessa Valdivia, the First Lady's Press Secretary, confirmed the news that Biden, 71, would undergo the removal, the second time she's gone under the knife as first lady after having a puncture wound cleaned out in July of last year. The procedure, known as 'Mohs surgery,' will take place on January 11, according to O'Connor.
