Elon Musk’s Twitter has slashed its contract workforce by 80 percent with none of the company’s internal teams being notified in advance. CNBC reports that according to internal communications from full-time Twitter employees sent to outlet, more than 4,000 contract workers had their jobs terminated this weekend after losing access to Slack and other work systems. According to Platformer, which first reported on the terminations, about 4,400 of the 5,500 Twitter contractors were fired. Twitter used contractors based in various locations, including India. Current Twitter employees, who wished to remain anonymous as they were not authorized to speak on behalf of the company, said

They will get over it. It has happened to most of us at one time. Remember the 90's when most employees over the age of 50 were let go in favor of younger, cheaper workers.

Federal judge blocks Title 42 rule that

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked Title 42 -- a controversial rule that's allowed US authorities to expel more than 1 million migrants who crossed the US-Mexico border. Tuesday's court order leaves the Biden administration without one of the key tools it had deployed to address the thousands of migrants arriving at the border on a daily basis and could restore access to asylum for arriving migrants. While the rule was drafted by the Trump administration during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Biden administration has relied heavily on it to manage the increase of migrants at the border.

Sen. Rick Scott is running to unseat Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as the top Republican in the Senate, Fox News Digital confirmed Tuesday. Scott, R-Fla., the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has been at odds with McConnell. R-Ky., for most of this year over political strategy. Scott is also more closely aligned with former President Donald Trump, who has called for McConnell to be removed as Senate Republican leader. Scott repeatedly declined to rule out challenging McConnell in recent months, but didn't confirm his intentions until Tuesday during a closed door Senate GOP lunch.

House Republicans nominated Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) to be Speaker in a closed-door conference meeting on Tuesday after he faced a last-minute protest challenge from Rep. Andy Biggs (Ariz.), a former chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. McCarthy won easily, 188 to 31, in the internal conference meeting. But in the eyes of Biggs and his supporters, the goal was merely to demonstrate that McCarthy lacks the support to seize the gavel when the full House meets to choose the Speaker early next year. The 31 votes opposing McCarthy easily met that threshold, raising immediate questions

Kyiv, Ukraine — A Russian missile barrage on the Ukrainian power grid sent the war spilling over into neighboring countries Tuesday, hitting NATO member Poland and cutting electricity to much of Moldova. The strikes plunged much of Ukraine into darkness and drew defiance from President Volodymr Zelenskyy, who shook his fist and declared: “We will survive everything.” It was Russia’s biggest barrage yet, and some of the missiles crossed into Poland, where two people were killed, according to a U.S. official. It marked the first time in the war that Russian weapons have come down on a NATO country.

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Monday said he is confident Republican senators will reelect him as GOP Senate leader on Wednesday after failing to reclaim the Senate from Democrats. “Of course,” McConnell responded to Capitol Hill reporters. McConnell only needs a simple majority of the Republican conference votes to remain the GOP leader. The vote will take place by secret ballot and behind closed doors. No Republican appears to be challenging McConnell. If McConnell receives enough votes, he will be the longest serving party Senate leader in history, surpassing Mike Mansfield.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) said Tuesday she is “confident” former President Trump will never be president again. Trump is expected to announce his 2024 candidacy Tuesday evening from Mar-a-Lago. Speaking at The Washington Post’s Global Women’s Summit, Cheney said the midterms were the chance “to make sure we prevented election deniers from taking power,” and voters did just that in many races. Cheney, a member of the House Jan. 6 investigation panel, said Trump’s involvement in the insurrection shows he is completely unfit for office.

Rupert Murdoch has reportedly warned Donald Trump his media empire will not back any attempt to return to the White House, as former supporters turn to the youthful Florida governor Ron DeSantis. After the Republican party’s disappointing performance in the US midterm elections, in particular the poor showing by candidates backed by Trump, Murdoch’s rightwing media empire appears to be seeking a clean break from the former president’s damaged reputation and perceived waning political power. Last week, Murdoch’s influential media empire, including right-leaning Fox News, his flagship paper the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post, each rounded on Trump, calling him a loser and a flop responsible for dragging

The same vicious tactics are being used by the COVIDidiots, but with a twist. The RSV pandemic–caused by immunological deficits in children that accumulated during the isolation COVID policies created–is now being used as an additional excuse to keep kids unexposed to germs.

I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next President again.” How can he make sure of that? He didn’t say, and of course the sycophants didn’t ask.
