Anita Dunn: Senate control by Democrats

White House adviser Anita Dunn appeared on some Sunday morning political shows to tout the success of Democrats in the midterm elections. Her message was that because the Democrats have majority control of the Senate after the results of the race in Nevada were called yesterday, control of the senate is “hugely consequential” for Biden’s success in the coming two years. “He believes that at the end of the day, there are going to be things that Republicans and Democrats can work on together as they did over the last two years,” Dunn said in an interview with “Face the Nation,” referring to the president. “Control of the Senate is hugely

In 2020, it was the goal of demosluts to win the presidential campaign, and they cheated until that happened. In 2022, it was the control of the Senate, and they've cheated to make that happen. This removes any credible attempt by the Republicans to have hearings into the Biteme family and other issues like those still in jail for Jan.6th. Notice in any tight race of any political significance, the vote always takes longer than usual, and the demoslut candidate always wins.

Federal judge blocks Title 42 rule that

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked Title 42 -- a controversial rule that's allowed US authorities to expel more than 1 million migrants who crossed the US-Mexico border. Tuesday's court order leaves the Biden administration without one of the key tools it had deployed to address the thousands of migrants arriving at the border on a daily basis and could restore access to asylum for arriving migrants. While the rule was drafted by the Trump administration during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Biden administration has relied heavily on it to manage the increase of migrants at the border.

Sen. Rick Scott is running to unseat Minority Leader Mitch McConnell as the top Republican in the Senate, Fox News Digital confirmed Tuesday. Scott, R-Fla., the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has been at odds with McConnell. R-Ky., for most of this year over political strategy. Scott is also more closely aligned with former President Donald Trump, who has called for McConnell to be removed as Senate Republican leader. Scott repeatedly declined to rule out challenging McConnell in recent months, but didn't confirm his intentions until Tuesday during a closed door Senate GOP lunch.

House Republicans nominated Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) to be Speaker in a closed-door conference meeting on Tuesday after he faced a last-minute protest challenge from Rep. Andy Biggs (Ariz.), a former chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. McCarthy won easily, 188 to 31, in the internal conference meeting. But in the eyes of Biggs and his supporters, the goal was merely to demonstrate that McCarthy lacks the support to seize the gavel when the full House meets to choose the Speaker early next year. The 31 votes opposing McCarthy easily met that threshold, raising immediate questions

Kyiv, Ukraine — A Russian missile barrage on the Ukrainian power grid sent the war spilling over into neighboring countries Tuesday, hitting NATO member Poland and cutting electricity to much of Moldova. The strikes plunged much of Ukraine into darkness and drew defiance from President Volodymr Zelenskyy, who shook his fist and declared: “We will survive everything.” It was Russia’s biggest barrage yet, and some of the missiles crossed into Poland, where two people were killed, according to a U.S. official. It marked the first time in the war that Russian weapons have come down on a NATO country.

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Monday said he is confident Republican senators will reelect him as GOP Senate leader on Wednesday after failing to reclaim the Senate from Democrats. “Of course,” McConnell responded to Capitol Hill reporters. McConnell only needs a simple majority of the Republican conference votes to remain the GOP leader. The vote will take place by secret ballot and behind closed doors. No Republican appears to be challenging McConnell. If McConnell receives enough votes, he will be the longest serving party Senate leader in history, surpassing Mike Mansfield.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) said Tuesday she is “confident” former President Trump will never be president again. Trump is expected to announce his 2024 candidacy Tuesday evening from Mar-a-Lago. Speaking at The Washington Post’s Global Women’s Summit, Cheney said the midterms were the chance “to make sure we prevented election deniers from taking power,” and voters did just that in many races. Cheney, a member of the House Jan. 6 investigation panel, said Trump’s involvement in the insurrection shows he is completely unfit for office.

Rupert Murdoch has reportedly warned Donald Trump his media empire will not back any attempt to return to the White House, as former supporters turn to the youthful Florida governor Ron DeSantis. After the Republican party’s disappointing performance in the US midterm elections, in particular the poor showing by candidates backed by Trump, Murdoch’s rightwing media empire appears to be seeking a clean break from the former president’s damaged reputation and perceived waning political power. Last week, Murdoch’s influential media empire, including right-leaning Fox News, his flagship paper the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Post, each rounded on Trump, calling him a loser and a flop responsible for dragging

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis responded to attacks from former President Donald Trump and the media on Tuesday. Trump made a flurry of attacks against DeSantis in the days surrounding Election Day, calling him "Ron DeSanctimonious" and claiming to be responsible for his success in Florida. DeSantis, Trump's most credible rival for a presidential run in 2024, remained silent on the issue until responding to questions on the topic at a Tuesday press conference. "One of the things I've learned in this job is when you're leading, when you're getting things done, you take incoming fire. That's just the nature of it,"

The official, who was not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Burns and Sergei Naryshkin, the head of Russia’s SVR spy agency, did not discuss settlement of the war in Ukraine during the meeting in Ankara, Turkey. Ahead of the meeting, White House officials said Burns had also planned to raise the cases of Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner and Michigan corporate security executive Paul Whelan,

As cold and flu season gets going, and COVID infections have begun to surge around the world, the COVID fascists are gearing up to impose new mask mandates. Canada–because of course Canada–is already seeing mandates reappear. Premiers in more conservative Canadian provinces are not giving in to the pressure, at least not yet, but the mandates are popping up and the debate is raging. The same vicious tactics are being used by the COVIDidiots, but with a twist. The RSV pandemic–caused by immunological deficits in children that accumulated during the isolation COVID policies created–is now being used as an additional excuse to keep kids unexposed to germs.

Old Joe Biden, the ostensible president of the United States, on Wednesday held one of his Potemkin press conferences before the gathering of sycophants and propagandists known as the White House press corps. When a reporter said that Trump’s movement was “still very strong,” Biden laughed derisively and said, “Oh yeah?” He added, “Well, we just have to demonstrate that he will not take power by — if we — if he does run. I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next President again.” How can he make sure of that? He didn’t say, and of course the sycophants didn’t ask.

Allies have openly pleaded with the former president to hold off until the makeup of next year's Congress is fully decided next month, on the heels of a poor midterm election performance by Republicans.

The United States' men's national team have made a huge statement at the World Cup in Qatar by redesigning their crest to incorporate the rainbow flag, in a bid to show solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. The tournament, which starts on Sunday and sees the US play their opener against Wales on Monday, has been hugely controversial in its build-up, given Qatar's human rights record and attitude to homosexuality. As recently as this month, a Qatar World Cup ambassador told a German TV broadcaster that homosexuality was 'damage to the mind', and it remains illegal to be gay in the conservative Muslim country.
