Ron DeSantis has found himself in Donald Trump’s crosshairs and many people were wondering how the Florida Governor was going to deal with it. While it’s infuriating to watch it happen, it was inevitable. Bringing down opponents is a large part of politics and Trump has never been one to go easy on anybody, allies and enemies alike. If Trump has a goal and you’re in the way, he’s going to attempt to bulldoze right through you. It’s been simultaneously a huge weakness and a great strength. The Republican Governors Association’s annual winter meeting is happening in Orlando this week. New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu joined the governors of Iowa, South Dakota and Tennessee in a panel discussion titled “the Future of the GOP.” With the timing of a certain Republican’s announcement about his 2024 ambitions on Tuesday, the subject of the 2024 presidential election was a part of the discussion.
Without saying Trump’s name, Sununu said it is way too early for anyone to be announcing a run for president in 2024. He said 2024 is too far away to be guessing about potential candidates. He rightly pointed out that the political atmosphere will change several times

Bali, Indonesia - Polish President Andrzej Duda said the missile that killed two people in eastern Poland on Tuesday was likely fired by Ukrainian forces defending against a wave of Russian missile strikes, and that the incident appeared to be an accident.
"There is no indication that this was an intentional attack on Poland. Most likely, it was a Russian-made S-300 rocket," Duda said in a tweet Wednesday. In politics, just as in business, talk is cheap — follow the money. As predicted, Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential nomination, which officially kicked off the primary season. John covered the details of the announcement last night, which turned into an hour-long rally speech but without the rally.
That left some observers (including many of our commenters) underwhelmed in terms of presentation. As I had written earlier, that seemed like an odd choice, especially for a showman like Trump. He has a natural affinity for large audiences and is far more dynamic and entertaining in those venues than at a static podium on his own.
President Trump announced for president on Tuesday evening. He was forthright, straightforward, focused, and full of brief points.
According to Fox News, he began with:
"In order to make America great and glorious again. I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States," Trump said Tuesday evening to a crowd of supporters.

I was in South Florida the week before, and everyone I met, many of who were new to the state, was voting for them. (Snip) I have one request for any Democrats and socially progressive independent voters relocating to the Sunshine State. Go for the tax laws, but please, stay and influence the social politics.
