The commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection is being pressured to leave his position after presiding over record levels of illegal immigration.
Chris Magnus was put on notice that he must resign or be fired, two people familiar with the matter told the Associated Press.
Magnus sent an email to employees on Friday saying he had no intention of resigning, the New York Times reported. Should Magnus refuse to resign, he would be the first Biden administration political appointee to be fired.

Harris County Elections Administrator Clifford Tatum says his team will be working to sort out the issues that caused problems on election day.
Harris County experienced many issues from polling sites opening late, machine malfunctions, and even some polling sites running out of ballots. Wednesday morning, election workers were still counting emergency ballots at central counting at NRG Arena.
"We will assess our election operations from early voting through election night through today," he said at a Wednesday afternoon presser.
Polling sites were scheduled to open at 7 a.m. but officials said four locations opened late. BakerRipley House on Navigation opened almost 4.5 hours late due to

If there’s a strategy behind what Donald Trump has been doing over the last week, I’m not sure what it is. I say that in all seriousness. I do not understand what the purpose of attacking Gov. Ron DeSantis is, and I don’t understand why he’s now attacking Gov. Glenn Youngkin. That first line is something. Youngkin’s name isn’t “Young Kin,” and wouldn’t that sound more Korean than Chinese anyway? Besides, what exactly does that have to do with anything? I know Trump likes to get his shots in, but this one is a head-scratcher. It’s also pretty racially tinged, a charge I’ve often defended Trump from

The series finale of Paramount+’s The Good Fight featured a story arc involving a male character falsely accusing Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis of sexually assaulting him before later confessing to lying. The episode, titled “The End of Everything,” aired Thursday. It featured a recurring gay character named Felix Staples, who claims that DeSantis sexually assaulted him by forcing him to have oral sex after a CPAC conference when he was an intern in his office. How exactly is such a thing allowed in Hollywood? Yes, the accusations are met with skepticism, and yes, the accusations are revealed to be a political hoax, but do you think

On a disappointing night for Republicans, Governor Ron DeSantis crushed it in the free state of Florida, lapping his challenger, Congressman Charlie Crist, by close to 20 points. Before DeSantis’s emergence, Florida used to keep us wondering whether it would turn blue or red until the wee hours on Election Night or, in the case of the 2000 election, for weeks thereafter. But it was clear well before midnight on Tuesday that Florida had turned solid red. From Portsmouth to Puget Sound, Republicans interested in replicating DeSantis’s “win for the ages” should learn from these eight rules.
Stay on offense. Given the mainstream media’s leftward tilt, Republicans are often stuck

Former President Trump on Friday took aim at Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) amid rumors that the businessman could run for president in 2024.
“I Endorsed him, did a very big Trump Rally for him telephonically, got MAGA to Vote for him – or he couldn’t have come close to winning,” wrote Trump on his Truth Social account. Trump has been hinting at announcing another bid for the White House as early as next week.
Trump also made a comment about Youngkin’s name sounding “Chinese” as he attributed the governor’s 2021 election win to his support.
“Young Kin (now that’s an interesting take. Sounds Chinese, doesn’t it?) in Virginia couldn’t have

Shockingly the news breaks right after the midterm elections: the 2nd largest Democrat mega donor after George Soros turns out to be a total fraud.
Call me cynical, but does it surprise anyone that the news hits just after all that money was spent on campaign ads, and not a day or two before? Do you think voters might like to know that $40 million of the money spent to influence their choices was stolen?
Sam Bankman-Fried–a billionaire of whom I never heard before today– donated more than $40 million to Democrat candidates and super-PACs, including providing the initial funding for the Protect Our Future PAC. He was the second largest

Virginia’s Republican Lt. Governor, Winsome Sears, said Thursday during an appearance on Fox Business that she “could not support” Donald Trump should he decide to run for the White House in 2024. Speaking to Neil Cavuto, Sears noted a few good things Trump did, especially for black Americans, then said that a true leader should recognize “that it’s time to step off the stage.”
“His administration, when it came to the economy, helped us, because black unemployment was the lowest it had ever been historically, and then, of course, when it came to education he forgave his administration the loans that historically black colleges and universities

The Republican establishment is wrong to blame former President Donald Trump for losses in Tuesday’s midterm elections, Washington Times Opinion Editor Charlie Hurt said on Wednesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow.
In a wide-ranging interview, much of discussion centered on former President Trump and his role in the midterms. Hurt said that Trump-backed candidates like Ohio’s new Senator-elect J.D. Vance and Florida’s Gov. Ron DeSantis were victorious because they ran strong campaigns on MAGA issues.

There are more shakeups happening among Twitter’s top executives. Yoel Roth, Twitter’s head of trust and safety, is out, and Robin Wheeler, the head of ad sales, reportedly resigned before being convinced by CEO Elon Musk to stay. The news was initially reported by Platformer’s Zoe Schiffer and Casey Newton, and was confirmed to The Verge’s Alex Heath by two people familiar with the matter. The two executives resigned, according to Bloomberg’s Kurt Wagner, who later reported Wheeler’s change in plans. Both leaders had taken public-facing roles in these still-early days of Elon Musk’s Twitter ownership. Roth has repeatedly posted on Twitter to try and assuage user fears

While I’m not a huge fan of anyone suddenly losing their job as it’s one of the worst feelings in the world, there was something cathartic about watching the Twitter employees that had been censoring and suppressing anyone who remotely vexed them get the axe. Now that they’ve been stripped of their power and kicked to the streets, Twitter has been a lot more fun, interactive, and far less annoying. While others’ mileage may vary, Twitter is looking like an actual digital town square and not a place where the conversation is controlled by people who have no business being in control.

A federal judge in Texas struck down President Biden's student loan handout in a Thursday night ruling.
Biden's plan, which aims to cancel up to $20,000 in student loan debt for Pell Grant recipients in college and up to $10,000 for others who borrowed using federal student loans. Still, no one can plausibly deny that it is either one of the largest delegations of legislative power to the executive branch, or one of the largest exercises of legislative power without congressional authority in the history of the
