Never-Trump columnist Mona Charen faced intense social media backlash after insisting that violent crime, aside from murder, was not rising despite crime being a major midterm election issue. On Saturday, Charen tweeted a link to a Pew Research Center survey on crime leading up to the midterm election. The link, she stated, proved that, despite voters’ concerns for crime, violent crime "other than murder" was not higher than usual. "Other than murder, violent crime is not up. Did you know that? If citizens give up reporting crimes because they know the cops will never investigate them, or the DA's will never charge the perps, or the judges will let the perps off with no bail and a hand-slap, does the violent crime rate go down?

Here's a thought as well. Many cities ARE seeing a significant rise in crime. Where are the dems? In cities. So, the dems constituency is being pummeled by their soft-on-crime policies. Do you think that might mean something to the dems in the city. It seems to mean little to dems like Hochul who told her opponent "I don't know why that's so important to you", when discussing crime increases. As to Charen, you can quote statistics all day but personal experience and perception beat study results every time. The electorate considers crime a problem. You can stuff your study, Mona.

Gee she must be right...I can clearly remember mass smash and grab mobs descending on grocery stores and 7-11's happening ALL of the time...hammer wielding crews smashing into jewlery stores has been a constant since well...forever...random pedestrians getting bashed on the streets, on restaurant patios, pushed onto the tracks on subways, half a dozen or more street shootings into crowds a week has always been common...right? The 13 cops shot last month alone??? Nothing new...Mob battles in Chuckle Cheese, county fairs, amusement parks, ball games....even little league...any outdoor gathering at all? "Same as it ever was". Attacks on congressman, on the streets, at ball games In their HOMES, attacks on supreme court justices homes...Daily News forever right?
