Guam has elected a Republican as its non-voting delegate to Congress for the first time since 1993, an encouraging development for the GOP in the first 2022 midterm race called. Republican James Moylan, a senator in the Guam legislature, has defeated Judith Won Pat, former speaker of the Guam Legislature, according to the Pacific Daily News. Partial, unofficial results from the Guam Election Commission showed Moylan leading with 17,075 votes to Won Pat’s 15,427. President Biden steered clear of public appearances on Election Day, taping a single radio interview before calling it a day early. Biden, who has actively campaigned and rallied for Democrats in several races across multiple states, laid low on Tuesday except for an interview taped earlier in the morning with the D.L. Hughley Show, which was expected to air later in the afternoon. The president used the radio spot to tell Americans what the Biden-Harris Administration has delivered to the Black community in less than two years in office. The White House called a lid at 11:20 a.m. before

Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has unequivocally declared her intention to defeat incumbent Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in an Election Day message. "My name is Stacey Abrams and I intend to be the next governor of the great state of Georgia," Abrams tweeted Tuesday, as voters head to the ballot box. (Tweet) Abrams, who unsuccessfully ran against Kemp in 2018, has trailed the Republican governor in the polls despite record fundraising. Her campaign has hauled in nearly $98 million, according to reports filed with the state election commission, while Kemp has raised more than $69 million. Though she is polling

An early November storm could potentially dampen the chances for high in-person voter turnout Tuesday for California's midterm election as Southern California braces for strong winds, several inches of rain and up to 2 feet of snow in the mountains. (Snip) California candidates and political activists have already been urging people to cast ballots early at voting centers or by mailing in their ballots in advance of the inclement weather. Studies have shown that early in-person voting and mail voting could help counteract the depressing effects that bad weather could have on voter turnout. The Republican Party of Orange County

An estimated $1.9 billion is up for grabs in Powerball's latest jackpot, lottery officials said. But you'll have to wait to see if there's a winning ticket, as Powerball announced Monday night that the scheduled drawing "has been delayed due to a participating lottery needing extra time to complete the required security protocols." (Snip) There was no indication as to how long the delay would be, but Powerball said the winning numbers would be posted to its website -- which stated "results pending" as of late Monday -- and YouTube channel. Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., is getting blasted by his opponent as "radical" after his wife was recorded talking to two undercover journalists about how Democrats shouldn't talk about what's really in the Inflation Reduction Act and how they could defund the police "quietly." Susan Daggett, a law professor at the University of Denver, is seen on video released Monday by Accuracy in Media, arguing that "the most successful efforts in Washington, D.C., are the ones that you never see on the front page of the paper." At one point in the video, Daggett agrees and laughs with the two journalists

Never-Trump columnist Mona Charen faced intense social media backlash after insisting that violent crime, aside from murder, was not rising despite crime being a major midterm election issue. On Saturday, Charen tweeted a link to a Pew Research Center survey on crime leading up to the midterm election. The link, she stated, proved that, despite voters’ concerns for crime, violent crime "other than murder" was not higher than usual. "Other than murder, violent crime is not up. Did you know that? Violent crime is a key midterm voting issue, but what does the data say?" Charen, who is a policy

COLUMBUS, Ohio – There are only a few days left for you to cast your vote in this year’s midterm election, and the U.S. Senate race between Republican JD Vance and Democrat Tim Ryan has been in a statistical dead heat for much of the campaign. But two recent polls show one candidate taking a lead as they make their final arguments on the campaign trail.(Snip) But polling conducted by Emerson College between October 30 and November 1 shows that 51% percent of Ohio voters support Vance and 43% percent support Ryan. In this poll, only 4% of voters are

Democratic Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams argued that she will win her election on Tuesday if voters can "navigate" the alleged voter suppression systems installed in her state by her opponent Gov. Brian Kemp, R-Ga. She spent a good portion of her interview with MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi on Saturday complaining about Georgia Republicans’ supposed voter suppression initiatives and attempts to "game the system" to stay in power next election day, despite record early voting turnout across the state. The conversation began with the host bringing up polling which has Abrams "trailing Gov. Kemp by double digits." Though he mentioned

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin on Saturday slammed President Joe Biden for pledging to shut down America’s coal plants in a speech in California. “President Biden’s comments are not only outrageous and divorced from reality, they ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs,” Manchin (D-W.Va.) said in a statement just days ahead of the midterm elections. “Comments like these are the reason the American people are losing trust in President Biden. … It seems his positions change daily depending on the audience and politics of the day.” In a speech about the CHIPS
