New York City's crime crisis has taken center stage in the highly contested gubernatorial race between Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul and Republican challenger Rep. Lee Zeldin, but former Clinton pollster Mark Penn says the tragic killing of a young mother blamed on Hochul's soft-on-crime policies could be what gives the win to Zeldin. Keaira Bennefield, 30, was fatally shot in front of her children at about 8:30 in the morning on Oct. 5, less than 24 hours after her estranged husband was released from custody without bail for allegedly beating her.

Of course, it’s really impossible to believe that the dim politicians have an aim other than to damage American civil society. But if they’re just stupid, then how can they not see the grinding pain their policies inflict on the innocent, how could they be so perp-centric? (Unless the victim is a VIP like pawl peelousey).

How many, many times do we have to say it? "They," meaning the Leftists, are not liars, they are not ignorant and they are not evil but they are, here, I'll spell it out just so no one misses it: M-E-N-T-A-L-L-Y I-L-L!

I've heard that the NYC local news stations are reporting honestly on the spike in crime in the NYC area. Many people think it's effecting the Senate race in CT (the western part of the state gets NYC stations). This can only help Zeldin and it will. Hochaluggie is dead in the water, this race is looking more and more like VA.

Releasing violent criminals without bail.....is an OBVIOUSLY very, very dangerous thing. And this murder was 100% predictable. And yet, the Dems, led by Hochul, did it anyway. They LOVE chaos, death and destruction and supporting a major political constituency.....violent criminals.

#2, that's an excuse for their behavior and actions, whereas simply lying to people is a deliberate act. I'll stick with saying they are liars, who need to change their tune come election time simply to try and fool people again. Anyone espousing the no-cash bail, etc... and see results like this murder, are culpable, and her children should be able to file wrongful death lawsuit against them.

I saw this mentioned on Fox News this afternoon. Apparently he shot her in front of the children while she was trying to drive away from him. He also has a past conviction of kidnapping another ex girlfriend. That beating would have had me gathering the kids and my stuff and making like vapor. My niece was once in such a situation. When her extended family found out, no less than three male members of our family made plans to fly in to town "to deal with the problem." They were only persuaded to change plans once he was behind bars.

The story is out and the governor had to address is, blaming it on judges and "the system". Gonna cost her more than a few votes. Not sure who is going to win this one.

Debate is expected at the meeting about the standing in the conference of Reps. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., and Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga. Cheney angered many of her fellow Republicans with a vote to impeach former President Trump, triggering a push by some of the Trump loyalists in the conference to remove her as the conference chair. And intense focus is on Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., over Greene. The GOP leader Tuesday had his long-awaited, in-person talk with Greene – who's shown little if any remorse for previously espousing conspiracy theories. Correction*

The first impression of President Joe Biden’s inauguration speech that Fox News viewers received on Wednesday was from anchor Chris Wallace, who uniformly praised it as “the best inaugural address” he has ever heard. Following Biden’s powerful address in which he declared “democracy has prevailed” and called upon Americans to “end this uncivil war,” the 73-year-old Wallace turned to his Fox colleagues and likened it to all the other presidential speeches he’s witnessed over the years, including that of President John F. MSNBC presidential historian Michael Beschloss on Wednesday night warned that if Republican candidates win their races next week, American democracy and the free press could end, historians may no longer exist, and “our children” could all die at the hands of a “brutal authoritarian system.” President Joe Biden said in his Wednesday night speech that, in the upcoming midterms, “democracy itself is “at stake,” a message that MSNBC’s Chris Hayes and much of the media have been repeating for months. Hayes played clips from the speech, including the president saying that electing certain Republicans is a “path to chaos” —

Former President Trump is calling on Republicans to impeach Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) for "allowing" Democrats to pass their agenda items. During an interview on Real America News, Trump insisted that the Democratic Party must "have something" on McConnell since he has often made deals with them on the debt ceiling in the past. President Biden claimed Thursday that first lady Jill Biden once bitterly snapped at him over his ranking as the “poorest man in Congress” — calling it a “true story” even though it’s unclear if he ever actually earned the superlative. Biden, who moved into a 10,000-square-foot former DuPont family mansion in 1974 — one year after joining the Senate — told the tale during a New Mexico event focused on his plans to forgive up to $20,000 in student debt per borrower. The president said that his late son Beau “ended up with [student] debt because I had the dubious distinction of being listed as the poorest man in Congress.”
