The top official at the National Weather Service broke ranks and praised the Birmingham office for accurately forecasting Hurricane Dorian in the face of President Trump inaccurately warning Alabama could get hit hard by the storm.Days after the release of an unsigned statement from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the parent agency of the National Weather Service, rebuking the Birmingham office, NWS Director Louis Uccellini said the weather station acted appropriately in combating what they thought were "rumors" on Sept. 1 about Dorian.

Oh for crying out loud,Trump haters, grow up and move on. The storm was not as bad as we thought it was going to be for the U.S. That’s a good thing. Shut up. Please.

This would have been a non-issue had Obama made the identical statement. I am so sick of the media and their blatant bias against Donald Trump. They have lost all credibility.

Agree with poster#1, they just need to give it up and get a life. As a citizen of Hurricane prone South Louisiana since 1965, I've learned not to trust the national weather service or the weather channel. The local weather people in New Orleans have them both beat, hands down.

I don't see the reason for the fuss. The early track cones showed it crossing Florida. Early predictions changed. No reason to attack Trump for stating a possibility.
National Weather Service = Air Traffic Controllers (i.e., government employees)
Perhaps you need to do your job or face the same consequences.

Let it go! I live in Virginia and they told us we were going to get a hit. We did everything we were supposed to do in case of a worse case scenario. It missed us after hitting NC hard. I don't blame them for being wrong; I am too thankful that it didn't happen even though we were ready. Better safe than sorry. Pick your battles; this ain't one of them! I thank Pres. Trump for trying to be on top of things. He is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. At least he cares which is more than I can say for Obama.

They need to keep a story that Trump doesn't know what he's talking about, and in their words, LIES!
And, yet he goes in front of the Washington media cabal, nearly every day, and takes dozens of questions - AND ANSWERS them all without notes, or some handler feeding him the response.

If anything this event proves that NO ONE can say with certainty what the weather will be like next week, next month or in 2030.
I saw the original warnings for the Gulf. A friend in Tampa was concerned about it when we talked. The hurricane changed.
All of this stupid blaming Trump for "scaring" people? What do you call this non-stop yammering about the "death of the planet" that has been scaring children since the 60's.

So NWS or NOA gave Trump bad information and now the director wants to stab the President and his own people in the back.
Time to fish out that prewritten resignation the President keeps in his desk.
Do any of these morons in the government understand who they work for? They work for the American people, represented by the only politician that represents all the people of the United State, the President.
The DOJ, the FBI, everybody. There are no independent agencies in the executive branch. They all work for the President. Period.

A number of the early computer models predicted that Dorian would cross the Fla peninsula and then hook north into Alabama-NOLA area. They lasted for a day or so.
Trump was, as usual, right when he said it.
