Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) on Friday shut down attempts to remove Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) from his leadership position in the Senate by writing a letter Friday to Republican senators denying their request to delay Wednesday’s leadership vote.
Barrasso, one of McConnell’s top lieutenants, wrote a letter Friday to GOP senators denying their request to delay Wednesday’s leadership vote until after all Senate votes had been counted.
“We look forward to meeting next week with our new and returning members. I expect a full and open discussion beginning at Tuesday’s policy lunch on our path forward,” he wrote in a letter obtained by CNN. “On Wednesday we will meet again

Of course, the vote remains because the senators don't actually give a d**n what the people who elected them want, only what the party line demands.

Barrasso is a puppy dog full owned by Mitch "MultiUseless" McConnell. When MultiUseless says stay, he stays. When "MultiUseless" says go, he goes. Good old Mitch, soon to be 81 years old in February. What's for lunch?

The less than red wave election results are not Trump's fault. If anyone is to blame besides the cheaters, it's the three McTraitors. They are behind the rinos blaming Trump and pushing this fight between him and DeSantis. They hate that DeSantis won bigly in Florida just like the left hates it. That Rona McT3 girl did nothing about the fraud; it's happening in the same places as 2020.
There are two former combat veterans (both helicopter pilots) headed to Washington. One is from Houston and the other from Michigan, John James (I think). The one from Houston is talking a good conservative game, but he told Bannon that Cruz, Jim Jordan, and others told him that they were very confident that McCarthy would do well as Speaker, so he plans to vote for him to continue as leader. If you're from the Houston area, call this man and give him the skinny on McT2. It might work unless he's a uniparty plant. Cruz and Jordan are busy working for the status quo while pretending to be open to new leadership.

I’m MAGA. Not Republican. Can’t imagine how it must feel to be a Republican. Reagan almost got me to register, but since then, every Republican President and political leader has been completely bought and paid for. When Lyndsey threw out that ridiculous abortion nonsense and the McNuttin’s holding back suport for populist MAGA was disgraceful. Helen Keller and Stevie Wonder could see what is going on here. Deep state $&@€ing Trump and MAGA. Ilk stay home and let the place burn before I’ll vote for another Rhino.

And vote for whom, # 1? That's the kicker. Without a serious challenger who can corral a majority we cannot be shocked or surprised to see McC remain in charge.

As one of the more basic rules to live by... don't start a fight until your current fight is over.
It could read..."Don't hold a new election until the current election is counted.",
A leadership election for the NEXT congress, where members elected to THAT congress cannot vote, and members NOT going to be in it can? Alaska still has it's entire congressional ticket waiting to be decided...by the LOSERS in the race, it makes zero sense there either.

Ditch Mitch. And replace him with, hey, I don't know, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, and even, just even little Marco. As much as I have some reservations about anyone of them, ANY one of these guys would be better. And please don't give me BS about judges. Judges are procedural and the long term Senate staff knows how to do it. Not that we will ever get the chance to name them as stolen elections (Thanks Mitch for not saying a word or doing anything about the 2020 steal) are now the way of this country. So, forget ever having a republican president again.
DITCH MITCH, ASAP.

Mitch McConnell's actions are the biggest reason Republicans did not do better in the election. He is directly responsible for several big losses. But Hey! Mitch is happy. No responsibility from being the majority party.
Of course, the "party of stupid" will vote to keep him as their leader.

The old senate is voting for the leadership of the new senate.
Just wrong, but Mitch know he will get fewer votes in the new senate.

Just ask yourself what have any of these "senators" actually done to make your lives any better? Being in the Senate or Congress is a good gig if you've never actually had to bust your ass for a living, figure out how to survive. I will say I'll exclude the crop of Republican veterans and candidates who just ran and got elected.

The only way we'll get rid of the GOPe fossils is the way we finally got rid of McCain - death. Then, if there's anything left of the Republican party, it can be rebuilt. I'm not optimistic, though.
