These Counties Experiencing Election Issues
Have One Thing In Common

It suffices to say that Election Day didn't go as planned for some polling places that experienced and are still experiencing ballot-counting issues. Despite the varying election-related difficulties, multiple jurisdictions share one foreseen commonality. There's a common thread connecting five counties spread across several states that were in disarray on Election Day: federal "monitors." On the eve of the elections, the Biden administration's Department of Justice announced Monday it would be dispatching such monitors to as many as 64 jurisdictions in almost half of U.S. states on Election Day to oversee federal election law "compliance."

Slow vote counting, printers out of ink. shortage of supplies and other election day problems are a state-by-state issue. Each governor could and should take on the problem and clean up their state if they were competent. Florida had problems in the past but after DeSantis was elected, he removed the incompetent woman who had resided over the elections for 15 or more years. Florida tabulated the votes on election night ahead of many other states even some smaller. Voting is handled extremely well in Florida and is an example of how it could be in the other unorganized states. Republicans have had two years since the last fiasco, and nothing seems to have changed in many areas. I know some of the states are majority democrat but insisting that something be done and not letting up until it is. It needs to be worked on NOW not on election day. What we are going through now and not knowing results for a week or more is not acceptable and leaves a lot of room for cheating.

The Biden administration was using the DOJ to develop plans for federal interference in state election administration, after those plans were leaked those plans allegedly got scrapped. I am guessing they didn't.

It seems to me there were enough irregularities to fast track this to the SCOTUS. Getting them to accept it is another question.

#8 SCOTUS has the important responsibility of upholding and defending the Constitution. Part of that, it seems to me, is to protect the Franchise, and in such a way that the Citizen is protected and therefore has trust and faith in the Body of Laws by which we are governed, from the Executive all the way to us Citizens. One thing enjoyed by all Roman citizens, for example, was their equality under the Law, everywhere throughout the Empire. Citizens had security in their citizenship because at all levels the Law was enforced and respected. Our Founders incorporated this as a crucial aspect of our system, or it has been, up until the "fundamental [transformer]," BO, came to power along with his sidekick, Joe, by his side, and his administration began the wholesale corruption of the Courts. We are supposed to be treated equally under the Law. The Court is an arbiter. Millions of citizens witnessed massive irregularities in 2020, and States with (what seemed to many attorneys) Standing were turned away by the Court. So, the Court shut off any and all "off ramps" whereby tempers could have cooled while the Justices considered the facts as presented, and adjudicated the complaints, paused the process, let the grievances be heard. If the people lose faith in the impartiality of the Courts, what's the recourse? there aren't many paths to restoration of our Constitutional system. The Republic is in danger. All the Court's refusals seemed so specious. And the turmoil ever since has only exacerbated the tensions, as it becomes obvious that the Dems have many schemes, organizations, and plans by means of which they secure what appears to be very narrow victories by means of very questionable methods, employed even more vigorously in 2022, at a time when the POTUS is constantly demonizing half the American population. As we know, that is something President Trump NEVER did. He directed his vituperations and critiques at politicians and pundits, he never called those who voted against him "deplorables," he didn't attack them at all. Anyway, this elections period ALL the polls showed an impending "red wave," and perhaps a "red tsunami." So, what did happen? how? Will the Court pause and hear the grievances of the people? After all, that IS one of our Rights as stated in the First Amendment. We have a Right to "make redress of our grievances," to "petition our government," the Court is the third co-equal Branch, and the Justices need to have courage and the nerve to take up this essential case of election trustworthiness. Otherwise, we're looking more and more like every other ordinary regime which loses its legality and dies.

States control the elections. Republican governors can tell Doj to get lost. And absolutely should. But it’s the voters, that have to demand accountability. Until voters do, the Dems get away with it. People think that the voting control is the federal governments duty. It is not. States run elections.

With the House race remaining uncalled, discussions have emerged on both sides of the aisle regarding who should be the next speaker. On the right, the discussions have naturally centered largely around current House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, a Republican. But on the left, the discussions have centered around someone else altogether — outgoing Rep. Liz Cheney, also a Republican, albeit one who just got voted out of office this election cycle (not that House rules require the speaker to be in Congress). The idea appears to be the brainchild of Jennifer Rubin, a Washington Post columnist who for most of her career was a staunch Republican, but who completely flipped positions

While Republican Kari Lake did win the overall vote in the Maricopa County (the largest and most important) batch, it wasn’t by the margin she needed to eliminate the gap. (Tweet) When you look at the outstanding ballots, it’s very unlikely that enough votes for Lake exist to put her over the top. Deep blue Pima County still has 38,000 left while Maricopa County has 94,000.

Called by the Associated Press on Sunday, Chavez-DeRemer won her race in Oregon’s 5th U.S. Congressional District, beating out Democrat Jamie McLeod-Skinner. Per the Associated Press (AP): Chavez-DeRemer’s victory makes her the first Latina congresswoman from Oregon, a distinction also sought by 6th District Democratic candidate Andrew Salinas. That race remained too early to call. The district was previously held for seven terms by moderate Democrat Rep. In that race—and several others—mail-in ballots acted as a breaker against the “Red Wave” of wins that Republican leaders had hoped would wash across the nation at a time when Congress and the White House are both Democrat-controlled.

Surveying the wreckage of the disappointing Republican midterms, voters were left scratching their heads, trying to figure out what went wrong. With the fundamentals being as bad as they were this year, Republicans underperformed expectations, and it was fairly obvious that they would experience no red wave by early in the evening on Election Night. While I've seen plenty of postmortems already, the single biggest issue that wrecked the wave was mail-in voting combined with ballot-harvesting, which all but eliminated Republican hopes in states where Democrats control the voting rules. This is why Senate polls were so wrong in these states.

Election Day is increasingly looking like election month, and frankly, unless state residents under our federal system get control of this, I see no end to it. In the worst cases, ballots are emailed to everyone who has ever been registered to vote whether or not they’ve died or moved away, faulty ballot printing results in valid ballots being tossed, equipment failures misregister votes, ballot drop boxes are left unmonitored, and so on -- all of which contribute to an atmosphere in which corruption flourishes. The more this happens, the more voters believe they cannot vote themselves out of policies and politicians with which they disagree.
