L.A. Times: California Policymakers Have
Failed for Decades on Gas Prices

Original Article

The reliably left-wing Los Angeles Times has published an unusually candid analysis: that California’s policymakers, given ample warnings about the state’s vulnerability to high gas prices, have failed to do anything to address the basic problems that cause them. The Times recounted how the state created special committees in the 1990s, and again in the last decade, to deal with the challenges created by California’s “green” regulations and its aggressive environmental rules on the one hand, and market realities on the other. The Times noted Friday: California officials have had repeated warnings over the last two decades that the state’s unique blend of gasoline is susceptible to supply shortages

The people of California have spoken time and again about their "green" state and the wonders of living there. The price of gasoline is just another cost of living in The Golden State, where the masses can't get enough government intervention in their lives and the lives of others. They have a pox on their house...and what will they do about it? Another Commission? Surely they will not elect a "reform" government.

Don't be fooled by the actions of the times. This is at the direction of Governor Brylcreem, who is calling a special session of the General Assembly to do something about the oil companies. There will be a subsequent follow-up piece, describing him as a tough policymaker -someone who will make a great President.

"Failed?" Well, you need to measure success and failure against the goal. IMO, their GOAL was to create high prices so as to make oil and gas too expensive to afford. I think they have been very successful. This was their INTENT.

I lived in Northern California near Sacramento for 13 years after I retired from Active Duty. Higher salaries offset the higher cost of living at first. Then the Democrat Assembly passed the jungle primary system where the highest two vote getters went on the general election ballot shortly after I moved there. The Democrats are the dominant party so frequently it was Democrat against Democrat and no Republican as a choice. This system guarantees single party rule forever just like the Soviet Union. One party rule with this primary system allowed all the bad things that have happened in California like a new gas tax to fix roads which was then diverted to other boondoggles. I left in 2019 and never looked back. No hope for this state.

This midterm season has seen the mainstream media downplaying outbreaks of crime, and its causes, across the country, an issue that polls badly for Democrats. So it’s not a shock that the networks on Monday morning buried a shooting outside New York Congressman (and GOP gubernatorial candidate) Lee Zeldin’s home. Zeldin’s two teenage daughters were home alone and were just feet away from the shooting. Yet, ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today avoided the story on Monday morning,

MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace suggested Monday that the United States might need a “Democracy commission” or some other organization that could save America from the Republicans — and she thought that former President Barack Obama could potentially spearhead such an effort. Wallace, who hosts “Deadline: White House” on the left-leaning network posed the question to former Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) — and even McCaskill quickly dismissed the idea that a “commission” of any sort was necessary. Conformity of thought is now required whether it is online, on college campuses, or, if you are in California, in a physician-patient relationship. PayPal recently introduced a $2,500 fine for anyone involved in “the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials” that — in “PayPal’s sole discretion” — “promote misinformation.” After a firestorm of criticism, PayPal withdrew the policy, claiming the whole thing was a misunderstanding and was not official policy— hardly a convincing explanation from a site with a history of banning those it considers politically incorrect. But California physicians have had no such relief.

Former President Donald Trump on Monday remembered Columbus Day by calling on fellow citizens to revive the national holiday. “BRING BACK COLUMBUS DAY!” Trump stated on Truth Social. Columbus Day is a national holiday celebrated in the United States, along with other continental nations, to commemorate the day Italian explorer Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas on October 12, 1492. The voyage would be followed by three others in 1493, 1498, and 1502. Columbus’s first voyage was financed by Ferdinand II and Isabella I, the Catholic Monarchs of Spain. The investment was significant at the time due to Spain’s expensive war against the invading Moors (Muslims).

A newly leaked voicemail between Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, revealed the president knew Hunter relapsed into drug addiction when he illegally purchased a handgun four years ago, RadarOnline.com has learned. In a shocking development to come after federal agents believe they've obtained enough evidence to charge Hunter, 52, for tax crimes and the illegal purchase of a firearm, a leaked voicemail from President Biden to Hunter showed he knew that his son was in the midst of a “drug-fueled meltdown” in October 2018. Though there’s still two tournaments to go, and Johnson finished T16 in Thailand, he has 121 points in the season-long individual title — which officially secured the championship. (Tweet) That means that Johnson, who has already won more than $12.7 million playing on LIV Golf, will take home an additional $18 million prize. Concerns over President Joe Biden’s recent very public displays of possibly age-related mental impairments have jumped among voters since mid-summer, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. And these worries aren’t partisan, with a majority of all political groups, including Democrats, now expressing concern. In early August, we asked Americans: “Some people are concerned about President Biden’s mental health. How concerned are you about President Biden’s mental health?” At the time, a number of public displays of unsteadiness, confusion, and verbal gaffes seen in the media suggested to many that the nation’s commander-in-chief’s mental acuity was questionable.

According to the outlet, the 30,000 cards were sent to non-citizens because of a mix-up with the formatting of the query involving DMV records. In Colorado, illegal immigrants are able to obtain a driver’s license, which was apparently the nexus of the issue. The postcards were mailed to residents last week who had non-citizen Colorado driver’s licenses. The state sends postcards every two years to Coloradans it believes are eligible to vote but not yet registered.
