Jaguar Land Rover U.K. announced Monday it will be partnering with Plugsurfing to give Jaguar and Land Rover owners simplified access to over 300,000 charge points across 27 countries.
To streamline access to charge points customers purchasing Jaguars and Land Rovers will receive the Jaguar or Land Rover Charging app, which will allow them to pay at various charge points by simply tapping an RFID key.
Multiple options will be available for customers with the Pay-As-You-Go free package offering prices according to the current variable rate at each charger. For a fee of $4.71 per month, including value-added tax, the Gold Tariff will offer fixed rates for charging.

Jaguar was the last to go. Their cars always were unique. You knew it was a Jaguar before you saw the leaping cat. Then it became one of jelly beans.

The Jaguar XKE was a different breed of cat. It was one of the most beautiful cars I ever owned.

I have read about serious quality issues with both brands.
Just sayin'...

Same here #2. My '65 E Type 4.2 liter coupe was my little garage queen for 12 years. When I rebuilt her engine on several occasions, it was a road beast on the highway. That was back in the day when you put on your vehicle and drove it by the sound, smell, and feel. Miss it/ not miss it...like a demanding ex- wife.

The question is, where is the electricity for 300,000 charge points going to come from in those 27 countries? Wind and solar generation, etc.? This is all pure dreamland.

I hope Jag did a thorough job of eliminating ways of tampering with it. New means of access often create new vulnerability to stealing product, money, or identity.

Sidebar: Several times a month I have the dubious pleasure of watching the driver of an electric car hook up at the local Big Box. Immediately thereafter, the diesel generators hidden behind the grey fence roar to life.

Good idea. Make it easy to pay, 'cause you are going to have to pay and pay and pay.

It will charge like nobody’s business…being a Jaguar it will make it easier to get it to and back from the Service Department! Park her in the garage, turn out the lights and listen to it rust!

Batteries are great for toy cars. Maybe something as big as a golf cart, that only needs to drive a few miles at fairly slow speeds.
But battery technology is nowhere near ready to power cars in realistic ways that people actually drive cars in most of the country!!!!! Until they can make them small, inexpensive, super powerful, clean, and able to be fully charged in about 15 minutes or less (for a charge that will allow the car to go 400-500 miles), there isn't a bat's chance in Hades that I will be owning an electric car. Even if it has a Jaguar as a hood ornament and they give it to me for free!!! Don't get me wrong, I would take it and immediately sell it to buy a nice gas-powered SUV!!!!!!

I'm with #14. I've said it before: I will consider the possibility of an EV when the first fully electric rocket blasts off into space and the first fully loaded electric 767 successfully flies from NYC to London. And even then, I would only consider the possibility . . .

Too bad they can't speed up the charging process or make the batteries safe from meltdown and rapid combustion into toxic fumes.
