President Joe Biden on Friday burned 3,866 lbs of jet fuel to fly 72 miles aboard Air Force One to deliver a speech in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Biden’s 40-minute flight to Hagerstown burned about 3,886 lbs of jet fuel as he traveled in a Boeing 757 aircraft, which burns roughly 5,800 lbs of fuel per hour if the aircraft is traveling at the average speed of 598 miles per hour at 35,000 ft, according to Aviation Insider. Biden’s trip to Maryland produced over 12,000 lbs of carbon dioxide (CO2), according to a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis.
Biden produced CO2 emissions equivalent to driving 13,678 miles in an average gasoline-powered passenger vehicle,

OPM is not something that they care the SLIGHTEST about wasting. And they do NOT believe any of their BS stories about CO2 themselves.

then he flew to U-Penn....to perp walk his drug addict/hunter party partner/prostitute procurer, grand daughter through her Freshman visitation to the campus...accompanied by the University president and top professors...the same school that paid him $1Million for a no-show adjunct professor position that he now uses to claim he was a "Teacher"...though he never taught a class.

I think complaining about the President's required transportation arrangements, which make very good sense for the safety and security of the country, takes the focus away from real problems like inflation and immigration.

Hagerstown is pretty much the same distance as Camp David and the helocopter the president there. These days it is basically a DC suburb. People actually commute in from there to jobs along the I270 corridor and even into DC. I believe there is even a commuter train that runs from there or close to Hagerstown. It is just nuts that they would fire up a 757 for that trip.

He burned way more fuel than that. Fuel consumption at 35,000 feet is far less than fuel consumption at take-off and low altitude flying. The 72 mile flight is more like never getting out of 2nd gear the whole trip.

I speak with the experience of having had responsibilities for h.s. student visitations for recruiting, and would opine adding the president, even an unimpaired one, to the mix is just insane.
I should be surprised that the girl presidentcof Penn would accommodate such a visit, but she does some goofy stuff anyway, so I am not surprised.
As for the granddaughter of the addict, I truely hope she stays sober.

I used to live about 25 miles from Hagerstown. As far as I know, there is no airport anywhere near there which could accommodate the landing/takeoff of a 757. So where did he land?

A 40 minute flight for 72 miles ? Something's off here, you could almost walk it
72 miles in a car might burn 3 gallons

Why would anyone get on a helicopter to fly to Andrews AFB so they could go to Hagerstown? If he got on the helicopter to go to Andrews he should have had it flown to Hagerstown

Considering that most of the flying time of AF1 would have been spent on takeoff and landing, the Idiot-in-Chief would have gotten there faster and much cheaper by car. If that's the only money he was wasting it would be notable but not outstanding. What he is really wasting is staggering. On top of that, his speeches are worthless expulsions of hot air.
John Kerry was not available for comment.

correction: that's "3,866 pounds" of taxpayer dollars, not "jet fuel" but, we must remember one thing, diapers is a demcommie who cares not one bit about about the proletariat or their welfare
Communism is a top down governmental system and affords the best in life to the 1%, at the top, all others do not matter and are disposable and all exist for the betterment of the "State"

#5, I agree a little bit about protecting "the President," but this particular President is SUCH a flaming hypocrite, I think this little trip might make some good political ads.

Another wasteful trip coming this week. He'll be visiting grounds for a new 'national monument' that's in a remote area of the Rocky Mountains. 9,000 feet elevation and only accessible by narrow, winding roads. No place to land AF-One nearby. Oxygen levels are much lower at that height - he'll be gasping for air to breath.

What you said would be true #5 except that Biteme is the guy who created the inflation, the border crisis, and high energy prices. Plus, the flight from D.C. to Hagerstown shouldn't have taken more than 15 minutes. Exactly where did they fly this plane to make it a 40 minute flight? Biteme could have taken the helicopter Marine One to Hagerstown. It's not that far away from Camp David.

How many accompanying jet aircraft?
How many Secret Service SUV's, how many State Police SUV's, Hummers, and who knows what else!
Any video of his motorcade?
