Mayor Eric Adams is finalizing a deal with the Norwegian Cruise Line to house migrants on one of its massive cruise ships and dock it at Staten Island’s Homeport, The Post has learned. Adams wants to lease the luxury liner for at least six months and use it to house and process migrants before they enter the city’s shelter system, a source familiar with the matter said. The migrants would be allowed to come and go while staying on the ship, the source said. Preliminary estimates show the plan will be “cheaper” than erecting another tent city similar to the one the city plans to open in the Bronx

Also, this ship deal (same as the hotel deals during Covid) probably includes an undisclosed taxpayer-funded complete overhaul of the ship after the illegal aliens have finished trashing it, and to repair damage from the ship sitting idle. Probably work that's needed anyway, but why not have someone else pick up the cost? Modern business in action, with help from their friends in government.

The multi-language opera shows will be created and ticket prices will be zero courtesy of the U.S. taxpayer. Current limousine drivers are about to face competition. Yes, back the ship and don't attempt to do the "detour" route!

Imagine what the ship will look like when it's returned to the cruise ship company. I'd like to be there with a camera . . . and a tight-fitting nose plug.

I wonder if they stop in Cancun. Might be a deal if they took them ashore there and pulled up anchor.

wonder what Captain America, Eric Adams, cut of the action will be for this little gambit, he's been around long enough to know, you never do something for nothing in return

Will there be a special wing for schizophrenia?
Will there be a wing to treat drug addiction?
Will there be a wing for training for blue collar jobs?
Will there be a wing to teach English?

Regards of the number of 'occupants', someone better get a dry dock booked and start lining
up materials now !
After a few weeks they are going to have start the maintenance on the ship by re-laying the keel !

I'm not a New Yorker, but I did pay a bit of attention to the recent mayoral election. Adams is pretty much a joke. He is the personification of New York's "brand," as he was crowing about just last week when he insulted Kansas. The NYC Brand: Rape, looting, murder, car jacking, home invasion, robbery, etc., etc. THERE'S YOUR BRAND, IDIOT!! It is so disheartening to hear how that city has become an armpit. However, if the residents there don't care enough to elect another Rudy Giuliani, they will marinate in their own misery.

First, the Bronx and now, Staten Island. Isn't pier space available somewhere on Manhatten? How about anchoring it offshore from the mayoral residence and running shuttle boats to and from his backyard?

I don't understand why the government is providing housing to illegals. No wonder they are coming across the border in droves. This can't continue.

That is beyond outrageous.
I wonder how much Adams is getting in kickbacks and skims.
And Is 'the Big Guy' getting his 10%? How about Hochul? is she geting to 'wet her beak' too?

I am sure that NCL is sending an older ship that was due for an overhaul or a sale. Both Froggy Adams and Adolfa Hochul are getting substantial cuts of the fee. There seems to be no provision for feeding, health, security screening, or education. The ship, of course, will prove to be a breeding ground for disease (norovirus is common on ships anyway) and since the illegals are free to come and go, most will quietly disappear.

The illegals have already indicated their preference for Martha's Vineyard. Anchor the ship a couple of miles out and they can enjoy the view but not rub elbows with the rich and famous. Eric Adams is a pompous ass with no brains whatsoever. Wait until one of the major diseases runs rampant over the ship and the occupants must be treated.

With all the freebees being given to illegals who don't belong in this country, a citizen is better off being an illegal.

I like this comment: "The tent city will cost $15 million a month, supposedly to house 1000 illegal aliens; that's $15,000 a month apiece; quite the bargain. Real leadership would load that ship to the gills, set sail, and offload them on rafts off the southernmost point of Mexico. And guess what? They'd never bother to come back."
To #22: sail to Martha's Vineyard, the piers off SF, any Seattle port, or any other coastal dem hotspot & drop anchor there....

There might be a bit of resentment from the thousands of homeless in NYC living on the sidewalk. At least now they know who has priority.

This could get interesting. American citizens could be hired as cabin stewards to attend to the needs and wishes of the illegal but somehow legal non-cruising cruisers. I hope Norwegian has tripled it's legal staff to handle thousands of potential lawsuits claiming someone was denied a primo cabin location because they are a disabled transie midget of color.
