China used ‘double-crossing companies’
to steal U.S. national security research

While the federal government invests heavily in research, it’s actually China that gets more out of it, according to a Defense Department study of its spending that is getting attention on Capitol Hill. Sen. Joni Ernst, Iowa Republican, touted the findings of the study Wednesday, saying the Pentagon’s conclusions should be worrying not just to the defense world, but to every government agency that spends on research China might be interested in. “China, not the U.S., is the ultimate beneficiary of DoD and other [U. S. government] research investments,” the Pentagon’s review concluded, according to Ms. Ernst.(Snip)She said it goes beyond the traditional boundaries of traditional intellectual property theft.

Comments:

This sort of thing has long been obvious even to casual observers, and yet our own government, clearly aware of it at the highest levels, allowed it to continue.

I attended the National Operational Security Conference in 1997 and Chinese theft of intellectual data was the lead topic. Their tactics of sending students to universities to join research teams and then send the data back to China was well known. They also created people with fake degrees that were hired as the expert team leads in biotech industry who also sent data back to China. None could charged with espionage because they did not sign disclosure agreements. Clinton knew about this in 1997 as did Bush and Obama. TRUMP was the first President that began to STOP this BS! We need Trump now!

The Japanese are just as bad. To build a factory in Japan you have to disclose your tradecraft secrets to the government. They take your product fix the bad design broken parts and sell back to us at a profit. They let us do product development at high cost and do product improvement and sell to us cheaper. Same goes with biotech medicines made in China and Japan. They have been ripping us of for decades. President Trump was the first to try stopping all this crap. Trump was right!

Just keep giving them jobs at our national laboratories and top universities, selling them prime land in sight of strategic assets, buying off and honey-trapping our elected representatives, and letting them keep open their Confucius (ha! -more like Sun Tzu) Institutes, Tik-Tok-ing our uniformed personnel, and then kick back. What could happen?

This bs has been going on since BJ Clinton was in office with his haughty wife the PIAPS. Remember all of the Chinese donor money and visits to the WH through Terry McAuliffe all of those Chinese nationals. Same with GWB but not as obvious. Also true with Obama. PDJT was the only one who said that he'd make China who has been treating my beloved country like fools feel the burn. Clowns like Pelosi, Biden and McConnell didn't like him messing with their selling out the US to China gravy train so they cheated to get rid of him . Now since we have the beforementioned compromised idiot Biden stinking up my WH like a wet moldy rag the Chinese theft of our resources and technology can begin once again. Have no fear though because "steely spined" guys like Kevin McCarthy said that he'll put a stop to it.

The Chinese have been stealing from other countries for centuries. I remember a number of years ago, a program on Chinese companies copying foreign products. One such product was an BMW X5. The show had a real BMW X5 next to the Chinese copy. The Chinese copy was identical to the real German built BMW. The difference being cheaper materials and poorer build quality. But from just looking at the two vehicles side by side, one could not tell the difference. The next time a video of the Chinese military is shown on tv, look at the tanks and other military equipment. They are exact copies of U.S. equipment, but the build quality isn't there.

Hundreds of Homeland Security employees were paid unemployment benefits during the coronavirus pandemic despite staying on the job, the department’s inspector general revealed Thursday. Survivors of the mass shooting at a suburban Chicago Fourth of July parade and family members of those killed filed 11 lawsuits on Wednesday against the manufacturer of the rifle used in the attack, accusing Smith & Wesson of illegally targeting ads at young men at risk of committing mass violence. The sweeping effort by dozens of victims of the Highland Park shooting, anti-gun violence advocates and private attorneys is the latest attempt to hold gun manufacturers accountable for a mass killing despite broad protections in federal law. The strategy mirrors the approach used by relatives of victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting, who in February reached

Top Republicans expressed strong concerns Wednesday to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona over reports of colleges and universities actively undermining free speech and academic freedom on their campuses. Republican Reps. President Biden on Wednesday signed off on a $1.1 billion security assistance package to Ukraine, bringing the total U.S. commitment to $16.2 billion since the start of Russia’s invasion seven months ago. The support will include 18 additional High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) that have proven to be highly effective on the battlefield. Also included will be 150 Humvees and 150 tactical vehicles needed to tow heavy weapons, Pentagon officials said Wednesday. The latest package comes as part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). The program does not pull weapons directly from U.S. stockpiles, but uses congressionally-appropriated funds to contract for the hardware through the private sector.

Transgender men and nonbinary teenagers who underwent breast removal surgery reported having a better body image afterward, according to a new study. Northwestern Medicine looked at 70 female-body patients between the ages of 13 and 24 who either received “top surgery,” or mastectomies (36 patients), or who received testosterone therapy but didn’t get mastectomies (34 patients). Researchers had patients report about their body image before they began their treatment path and then three months later. The study found that “gender-affirming top surgery is associated with significant improvement in chest dysphoria, gender congruence and body image in transmasculine and nonbinary teens and young adults,” according to a press release

Tucked inside Democrats’ new spending bill is $15.3 million in emergency money for the FBI to investigate Afghan evacuees brought to the U.S. during last year’s chaotic airlift. Congress is pumping the money into the FBI just a month after Director Christopher A. Wray told lawmakers that the bureau was having to conduct “lots of interviews” to keep track of the Afghans and obliquely warned of “a number of disruptions” of activities. Lawmakers said the money is the latest evidence of a hasty evacuation that jeopardizes American safety. “The Biden administration’s decision to let tens of thousands of unvetted Afghans into our country first and ask questions later has backfired,”

Yellen would be the most consequential exit from President Joe Biden's White House so far, especially as the nation grapples with record-high inflation and gas prices and classically defined recession with two straight quarters of negative GDP growth.
