I build my whole life on words, but I know that a message that goes unsaid can carry just as much weight as 1,000 words carelessly spewed forth in distortion. I found it telling over the past week since I wrote in this space last Sunday about Oberlin College bringing on a Catholic agency to run its Student Health Services(Snip) that Oberlin College’s only public response, to this paper, was to issue a statement claiming its actions had been “inaccurately characterized” in recent media reports.(Snip)The Chronicle requested a copy of any contract with Bon Secours that would outline whether the provider, which has long practiced under Catholic healthcare directives, had promised to provide contraception and gender-affirming care.
