At 75 years old, longtime New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, a Democrat, is far from being the oldest member of Congress, but he’s certainly well past his prime.
A Democratic staffer told the New York Post that Nadler, who serves as chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee, has earned a nickname from his peers: “Rock-A-Bye Baby.”
It is apparently a well-kept secret that the abrasive congressman falls asleep during meetings – frequently.
Citing a Zoom meeting of House Democratic committee chairs earlier in the year, the aide, who participated in the planning session, said Nadler fell asleep. No one woke him up; the discussion simply continued without him.

That Queen Elizabeth II passed away this week was a surprise only in the sense of the day it happened. Nothing against the Queen, who always seemed like a nice, lovely person, but she was 96. When someone is 96 years old the days are numbered. One day we might cheat death, or find ways to postpone it much longer than nature dictates currently, but that day isn’t today. So, sad as it is for family and friends of anyone who passes away at any age, surprise isn’t a word that leaps to mind to describe it.

Ever since Cain told Adam and Eve, “Yeah — what do you know, and how should I know where Abel is?” every generation spends its youth firmly convinced its conceptualizations regarding The Way Things Ought To Be are the sum total of all wisdom. Experience? Totally unnecessary. Who needs it, when we talked about this in class last week? With all the hubris of Bullwinkle preparing to pull a rabbit out of a hat, each generation proudly proclaims it possesses all the answers, so outta the way, old fogies; watch us save the world!
Every generation also learns, albeit 15 minutes too late,

A New Mexico state district court judge has banned Cowboys for Trump co-founder Couy Griffin from holding public office for life following his conviction for trespassing on Jan. 6 at the US Capitol. [Video]
9NEWS)
State District Court Judge Francis Mathew issued the ruling on Tuesday asserting that Griffin had engaged in insurrection and violated the 14th Amendment, according to the Daily Mail. The determination prohibits Griffin from holding or seeking local or federal office and is the first ruling of its kind. The constitutionality of such a ruling will almost certainly be challenged.

Republicans in the House are preparing to roll out their midterm agenda, which they hope will give voters a reason to vote for them and not just against Democrats.
The brainchild of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the “Commitment to America” will have four parts dealing with the economy, security, education/health care, and government accountability.
McCarthy’s office has indicated the Commitment to America will debut in Pittsburgh on September 19. It’s loosely based on the “Contract with American” concept created for the 1994 midterm election that was credited with helping the GOP take over both the House and Senate.

On Monday, the judge handling the case of the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid made an official decision to appoint a special master to review the documents seized. That came after she dropped a preliminary notice that she intended to do so at the end of August.
The DOJ’s subsequent arguments apparently weren’t very convincing, and now they will be forced to cease their investigation as the process plays out. The judge found numerous instances of privileged material making it through the government’s filter team, and revelations that medical records and tax returns were taken only provided more reason to move ahead with a special master.

Joe Biden has been attacking MAGA Republicans accusing them of being “semi-fascist” and a “threat” to the foundation of the nation. Of course, when you have the alleged leader of the Democratic Party inciting the left against millions of Americans, that might just smell a little bit like Joe Biden is the true fascist he trying to label others as.
Now, we also have a little help on the question of who is the real fascist from Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD). Raskin told CBS during an interview with “Face the Nation” on Sunday, “Two of the hallmarks of a fascist political party are

An electric vehicle broke down in West Virginia on Friday, but a group of coal miners were quick to help out.
The EV broke down along Corridor H in Tucker County as the driver was headed to Davis for a weekend getaway.
Photographs shared on Facebook by Tucker County’s Senator Randy Smith shows the car broken down in front of the Mettiki Coal access road on US 48.
"Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road," Smith said in his post.
Since the plastic underside of the vehicle prevented it from being towed,

The Weather Channel notified us on August 31 that “Rare Hurricane Season August Shutout Possible.” Really. “August is one of the core months of [the] Atlantic hurricane season.” But none this August. Only once since 1966 has there been a failure of a least one tropical storm to develop in the year’s eighth month. A few days prior to the publication of this article, the Weather Channel told us, “Atlantic Gets Busier; 4 Areas to Track Now.” Please! We need a hurricane to confirm that such climate disasters are indeed increasing like we say they are! A few dead bodies are imperative!

Did you see Joe Biden crash the 2022 campaign?
Like a jetliner that slammed into a mountain, his little “Benito Mussolini LIVE from the third circle of hell” routine on Thursday has already made history as the worst speech in the history of American presidents.
No one should have been surprised by it either. For the previous ten days Karine Jean-Pierre had been using much of the same language just minus all the dripping blood red lighting effects, and no Marines at her flank.
In fact the Biden team have more or less been using this vitriol since coming to power but they had been disinclined to say the “secret part” out loud.
