The country was forever changed on this day 21 years ago.
Terrorists hijacked and crashed passenger planes into buildings in New York and just outside of Washington, D.C. One hijacked plane dove into an empty field, its hijackers’ plans foiled by a group of courageous passengers.
Nearly 3,000 victims’ lives were claimed by extremist group al-Qaida’s 9/11 attacks. New York City lost more than 400 first responders who rushed to help at the burning World Trade Center. More than 83,000 first responders have enrolled in a Centers for Disease Control program that provides support for a number of medical conditions, like cancer and post-traumatic stress disorder, that arose from being

I will never forget watching the live feed that day and hearing loud bangs/crashing noises in the back ground. I realized later that those were the sounds of those poor souls jumping from the towers.

I was in Dhanbad, India on 9/11. That is a business trip I will never forget. The trip home two weeks later after Indira Ghandhi International Airport re-opened still feels like it happened yesterday.

I was heavy with our first born when the terror of 9/11 happened, to the point my husband worried over my and our sons health from the horror. I remember watching in real time those poor souls throwing themselves to their deaths. I need NO remembrances, I will takes those images to my grave. As I watched those sad souls die I prayed God save them. I still pray that. The tears will never not be.

Before 911 you were able to get on-base at Eglin if you had a only a base vehicle registration sticker on your car. All things changed forever that morning. 100% military photo ID check was and has been required ever since. I headed for the base at the first report and it still took me 30+ minutes to make it through the main gate.

On this day, 21 years ago:
246 people woke up early in anticipation of their morning flights.
2606 people woke up ready to go to work in the morning.
343 firefighters arrived at their stations in preparation for their morning shift.
60 police officers left home ready for morning patrol.
8 paramedics went to work, ready for the morning shift of saving lives.
None of them saw past 10:00am, September 11, 2001.
In one single moment, life may never be the same.

Meanwhile an FBI agent was worried about his own career and blew off a report about Muslim men in flight school who wanted only to learn to fly the plane and not take off of land.

I visited Ground Zero when it was still a hole in the ground and before the memorials were built. There were signs and banners saying “We will never forget”.
One of the ongoing tragedies of September 11, 2001 is that so many have forgotten.

I will NEVER forget. I pray for all the innocent souls that were lost that very day and even now still being lost as a result of this. It sickens me that the sob in the whitehouse left aphfganistan the way he did, Americans left behind, as well as the locals who helped us, left to be terrorized and murdered, more innocent souls lost or abandoned. God bless all the souls and God Bless America.

Twenty-one years later now we have America hating terrorist elected to Congress who say "somebody did something" or it was pilot error and air traffic accident. You better be darn sure I won't forget the war started on that day by a specific group of murderous uncouth heathens.

I remember the patriotism. American Flags were flying everywhere, even in remote areas. We were amazed driving weeks after 9/11 through a small town on the coast of Oregon and every house displayed an American Flag. What a wonderful feeling of American Unity that we felt as we drove through that town. And it was that way, all the way down the West Coast. Americans coming together with their love of Country. How we long for those days to be back!
We also support Tunnel to Towers for their good work. God bless all those who lost their lives on 9/11.

With a few exceptions, these photos are rather vanilla. I would have picked different ones, like of the people jumping from the towers to get away from the inferno inside, the people waving for help from the open windows, the photos of the firefighters climbing the steps to their deaths, the photo of Father Mychal Judge being carried away after he was killed by falling debris, The photos of the towers collapsing, and the before and after satellite image of flights across the U.S. Those photos show the true horror of the day.

I don't need photos or video to remind me. In many ways, 9/11 had more of an impact on the American people than Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor wasn't broadcast live for millions to watch as it happened.

Osama Bin Laden and Co. could never have imagined what his 9/11 attacks would have wrought in this country: Largest expansion of the police state and intelligence community in the US - ever. The Patriot Act - sold to us as a way to defense us from terrorists and no being used against Americans. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. etc ad nauseum
And so here we are on 9/11/2022 and American citizens are being targeted by their own government as domestic terrorists.
And yet, Geraldo Rivera is whining about how he could never vote for Trump again because of his threat to the Constitution because of Jan 6th - He is a disgrace. Along with 99% of Fox News. The real threats to We The People are not Trump, etc but Leftist shills like Rivera and too many members of Congress and the Administrative State.

I was on a mountain biking camping vacation in southwestern Colorado, and the day before had a crash, broke two ribs, and was very uncomfortable sleeping on the ground with the ribs, so we packed up camp and drove down to Durango and got a hotel for the night.
The next morning, in the shower, my wife had just turned on the TV, and said "An airplane flew into the World Trade Center". From the shower, I asked whether it was a small Cessna type or what, she didn't know. I asked about the weather, she said "perfectly clear". Getting out of the shower, and then she said "It was an airliner". I said, "It's impossible for an airliner to accidentally fly into that building in clear weather", as I toweled off and walked to the TV. About 20 seconds later, the second airliner was spotted and tracked in to the other tower, and I said "This is terrorism, guaranteed." By a fluke of many layers, we saw it live, too.
We headed to nearby Mesa Verde park and the women at the ticket selling building were all crying. We got tickets for a ranger led tour of one of the sites, and waited for the ranger. As a smiling young ranger came up to the waiting group, he said "Why all the glum faces?" We explained, and he said "We don't have any TV in the ranger cabins, I had no idea."
A glum day, even in far SW Colorado that day. As we headed back to our cabin in central Colorado, we missed the towers falling. I was surprised at the comprehensive collapse until I learned of the unusual 'stressed skin' construction of those towers, unlike older steel beam construction that most are familiar with.

I worked in WTC 1 for 3 year 1987-89, my office was directly in the path of the 1st impact zone. Watching the carnage on a TV safe in Nashville seemed surreal. When the 2nd plane hit the sadness turned to anger. I will never believe that the Saudi secret police didn't knw the attacks were coming. My hatred for the Saudi's is as strong as ever. I still think the US government covered up some facts and understandings from the attack.

December 31, 2010, was blessed to be whisked up the outside private [mostly] glass elevator, an amazing only 60-second ride, to celebrate with Family, and what a view and venue it was… to Windows on the World for a memorable dinner then and now even more so.

Don’t be too mad at the Saudis, #20. They were only doing as instructed under threat from the CIA, assisted by the FBI and the deep state.

I knew someone on each of the planes, in both of the towers and someone at the pentagon...
Sadly, I'm embarrassed to say I can recall readily only ONE of their names, Barbara Olson.
(She was unforgettable, even before that day).
I thought the others all were as well, my mind will now not rest until I can once again recall them all...
I can picture most of their faces, have fairly strong memories of the wheres and whens we were together for somethings...but the names?
I fear I am getting old, but that feeling is preferable to fearing that I have become callous and callused, inconstant in my friendships, and allegiances to individuals once important in my world. THAT I cannot forgive, yet it is there in the back of my mind.

I emerged that morning from a Continental commuter flight to Midway from Newark, seeing groups gathered around the monitors - and a collective gasp just as the south tower was hit.
I collected my Rent-A-Car keys, and decided to drive 14 hours back to New Jersey.

We WILL experience another 9/11. That last one was courtesy of Bill Clinton's refusal to arrest Bin Lauden. The next one will be much worse, courtesy of Joe Biden/Hunter/China/Iran.

I was on a business trip in Minneapolis and ended up driving home to Detroit. When I brought the keys into the rental office at Detroit Metro there were hundreds waiting to get a car. When I picked my own car up at the lot and gave the lady in the booth my ticket she said ‘No charge. Welcome Home’. That’s when I cried. I wish we were still like that.
