A great Queen who dedicated her life to her country and betterment of her people, as well as a wonderful woman all her life. She will be sorely missed.

Our family's WW2 veterans are all gone, and there are fewer and fewer surviving from that war. Heck, the Vietnam era veterans, 20+ years later, are thinning rapidly, but still a lot around.

Perhaps we are at the cusp of another 'Greatest Generation!' I don't know much, but I know tomorrow will be different than today. The odds are stacked pretty heavily against the forces of good in the world by the Elites with most of the Power and Wealth. It has always been that way. It still is today. The issues and technology are different, but it still is today. This is a great article and I'm beginning to see the pendulum swing. I pray it's not wishful thinking. We'll see.

Lost both of my WWII parents several years ago, within a few months of one another. My dad was a Naval aviator in WWII and switched to the newly created Air Force for Korea, remaining on active duty through Vietnam. My mom served in a Gray Lady Service cadre, dedicated to caring for Pacific war wounded. I'm somewhat comforted that they didn't experience the 2020 election caper, conveniently spearheaded by rogue government actions cloaked as a response to Covid. Both came from Great Depression era farm families and retired comfortably after my dad's 36 year military career.

Another poster said it well about old England passing with Elizabeth. Tucker touched on it but British media coverage cannot discuss the sorrow for a country so changed, a premier city now called Londonistan by tourists and the deterioration of culture, language and their Judeo-Christian foundation.

At 75 years old, longtime New York Rep. Jerry Nadler, a Democrat, is far from being the oldest member of Congress, but he’s certainly well past his prime. A Democratic staffer told the New York Post that Nadler, who serves as chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee, has earned a nickname from his peers: “Rock-A-Bye Baby.” It is apparently a well-kept secret that the abrasive congressman falls asleep during meetings – frequently. Citing a Zoom meeting of House Democratic committee chairs earlier in the year, the aide, who participated in the planning session, said Nadler fell asleep. No one woke him up; the discussion simply continued without him.

That Queen Elizabeth II passed away this week was a surprise only in the sense of the day it happened. Nothing against the Queen, who always seemed like a nice, lovely person, but she was 96. When someone is 96 years old the days are numbered. One day we might cheat death, or find ways to postpone it much longer than nature dictates currently, but that day isn’t today. So, sad as it is for family and friends of anyone who passes away at any age, surprise isn’t a word that leaps to mind to describe it.

Republicans in the House are preparing to roll out their midterm agenda, which they hope will give voters a reason to vote for them and not just against Democrats. The brainchild of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the “Commitment to America” will have four parts dealing with the economy, security, education/health care, and government accountability. McCarthy’s office has indicated the Commitment to America will debut in Pittsburgh on September 19. It’s loosely based on the “Contract with American” concept created for the 1994 midterm election that was credited with helping the GOP take over both the House and Senate.

On Monday, the judge handling the case of the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid made an official decision to appoint a special master to review the documents seized. That came after she dropped a preliminary notice that she intended to do so at the end of August. The DOJ’s subsequent arguments apparently weren’t very convincing, and now they will be forced to cease their investigation as the process plays out. The judge found numerous instances of privileged material making it through the government’s filter team, and revelations that medical records and tax returns were taken only provided more reason to move ahead with a special master.

Did you see Joe Biden crash the 2022 campaign? Like a jetliner that slammed into a mountain, his little “Benito Mussolini LIVE from the third circle of hell” routine on Thursday has already made history as the worst speech in the history of American presidents. No one should have been surprised by it either. For the previous ten days Karine Jean-Pierre had been using much of the same language just minus all the dripping blood red lighting effects, and no Marines at her flank. In fact the Biden team have more or less been using this vitriol since coming to power but they had been disinclined to say the “secret part” out loud.

Georgia Democrats are wringing their hands about the lackluster performance of their gubernatorial candidate, Stacey Abrams, in her long-anticipated rematch with incumbent Republican Gov. Brian Kemp. They kept their worries to themselves until the New York Times ran a story last Wednesday that highlighted complaints by local Democrats that she hasn’t bothered to reach out to crucial constituencies. It appears that Abrams, having been showered by obsequious media coverage since Kemp defeated her in 2018, was overconfident about her chances of beating him this year and took her base supporters for granted.

I wonder how vulnerable you think America is now, are we paying enough attention to the Middle East and to Afghanistan? The plea deals may allow the five dependents to escape a potential death penalty, according to CBS. Mohammed is widely credited with being the architect of the 9/11 terror attacks. The other four defendants are Ramzi Binalshibh, Mustafa Ahmed al-Hawsawi, Walid bin Attash and Ammar al-Baluchi. Attorneys for the defendants reportedly say they would be willing to enter a guilty plea in exchange for taking the death penalty off the table, as well as for getting treatment for alleged torture they experienced while in CIA custody.
