The Securities and Exchange Commission is declining to comment on a report that agency Chairman Gary Gensler — who was the CFO for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign — is leading its investigation of the merger of Trump Media and Technology Group, the parent company of the ex-president's Truth Social, with the special purpose acquisition company Digital World Acquisition Corp. In a Gettr post Monday on the FBI's Mar-a-Lago raid, RealClearInvestigations journalist Paul Sperry claimed Gensler is leading the SEC investigation and had "recently named" Melissa Hodgman as associate director of enforcement. Gensler is a disgraceful tool. The SEC has totally abandoned its mission of investor protection and has jumped the shark as a weaponized agency of the elite Left running this country.

An Australian nightclub is implementing a policy that bans individuals from staring at each other without prior consent of the person being stared at. Club 77, a nightclub located in Sydney’s Darlinghurst neighborhood, posted on its website that it is considered "harassment" to stare at someone without their consent and that law enforcement may be called if patrons engage in that behavior, The New York Post reported. "We operate a zero-tolerance policy on harassment of any kind," the club’s website says. "Club 77 is not a place to come to if your sole purpose is to ‘pick up’.

Actor Alec Baldwin appeared on CNN after the latest developments in his fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on a New Mexico movie set last October and once again showed that former President Donald J. Trump continues to live rent-free in his head. Following a newly-released FBI forensics report that concluded that the 64-year-old television and film star pulled the trigger on the “prop” gun that brought an end to Hutchins’ life during the filming of the western “Rust,” Baldwin played the victim by claiming that he feared that Trump would “instruct” his followers to act out violently against him after the tragic accident.

North Dakota’s Fargo School Board reinstated the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of its board meetings after one week’s worth of backlash following the Board’s decision to ban the Pledge. Since April, the Fargo School Board has been starting every meeting by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. However, the school board determined its Pledge of Allegiance policy violated the Board’s diversity, equity, and inclusion policies during an August 9 meeting. The school board’s decision came down to the Pledge’s inclusion of the words “under God.” Board member Seth Holden said:

According to one theology professor, the Bible is neutral when it comes to abortion. On July 20, Melanie A. Howard, Associate Professor of Biblical & Theological Studies at Fresno Pacific University (FPU) in California, published an article in The Conversation explaining her view that the Bible neither condemns nor supports abortion. FPU claims to be the only accredited Christian university in California’s Central Valley. “In the days since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade,” writes Howard, “some Christians have cited the Bible to argue why this decision should either be celebrated or lamented. But here’s the problem: This 2,000-year-old text says nothing about abortion.”

A riff between two judges in the United States’ most conservative federal appeals court reflects the ongoing debate of accountability when a government potentially breaches the First Amendment. Trump-appointed Judge James Ho had some words for Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit Priscilla Richman, in an August 12 court opinion about a citizen journalist case. Laredo, Texas, citizen journalist Priscilla Villarreal was arrested for questioning police in 2017 after she was able to confirm the names of subjects in stories she wrote by contacting a Laredo Police Department officer.

On Thursday, a federal judge partially blocked a new state law in Florida aimed at eliminating political indoctrination from classrooms and workplaces, claiming that the law was unconstitutional. As reported by CNN, the 44-page ruling from U.S. District Judge Mark Walker determined that the Individual Freedom Act (IFA), also known as the “Stop WOKE Act,” “discriminates on the basis of viewpoint in violation of the First Amendment and is impermissibly vague in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment.” As such, the ruling blocks the state from enforcing certain parts of the law, which went into effect on July 1st.

How do you know so-called transgender women aren’t real women? Because they act just like predatory men who, rather than having sympathy for women concerned when physically intact men invade their territory, revel in the ability to impose their will on these women. I once had a conversation with a strapping, athletic, and tall young man I was dating about how I, and women in general, feel vulnerable walking or traveling alone in many situations he took for granted. He had never thought about that wary anxiety women feel walking through a dimly lit parking lot at night, or turning around at footsteps,

Kathy Hochul, who hasn’t proven shy about issuing orders, had one for the state’s Republicans this week — all 5.4 million of them: “Just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, OK?” she said. “You are not New Yorkers.” If you can move beyond the frankly disgusting political partisanship and intolerance, her message is fiscally irresponsible, even dangerous. The governor probably already knows this, but the state’s extensive public sector is heavily reliant on personal income taxes paid by residents, and with nearly $14 billion in projected budget gaps over the next five years, it can’t afford to lose any taxpayers,

An op-ed in the Washington Post has argued that men in women’s sports could actually be a good thing for young girls by teaching them the art of losing gracefully. According to Alyssa Rosenberg, the aim of school athletics is not to teach children the art of achieving excellence but rather to build character, and what better way to build character in a teenage girl than having her experience the frustration of losing that championship title to a biological male? Her argument largely hinges on the unicorn of “sports-crazed parents” who will theoretically use transgender athletes in women’s sports as an excuse in the event their daughter loses.
