As President Obama used to say of his clownish vice president: "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f*** things up."
Which brings us to Joe Biden's student loan debt forgiveness rollout, announced this week.
Let's set aside the issue of the legality of the matter.
The actual execution of the matter is Joe in Action.
According to Axios: The implementation of President Biden's widespread, income-targeted student loan forgiveness is shaping up to be a bureaucratic challenge for the Department of Education.
Why it matters: Millions of Americans are in limbo waiting for information on how to take action on student debt relief — the success of which relies largely on an agency juggling

No one is going to the courts to stop this? Laws are being broken, I know this because a few months ago Pelosi told us that. What is going on?

FTA: "...meaning around 35 million people — including Pell Grant recipients — will have to attest that they makes less than $125,000 per year and apply for relief."
Gee, what could go wrong there huh? Way to go, Joe! This will The Department of education's version of the Afghanistan withdrawal!!

This is a pathetic attempt to trade cash for votes. No one thought this through with any research or even rational thought. They have angered voters in both Parties and unleashed a complete debacle. Let them live with it. The backlash is going to be severe.

As with #1, where are the alleged GOP leaders, from McConnell and McCarthy to the RNC? Shouldn’t they have had a legal document requesting a federal court to issue an injunction to stop this illegal action ready months ago? Or the 21 Red State AGs who have been fighting Biden’s unconstitutional actions for the past 18 months. The silence of the minority party is truly shocking.

I thanked for the assistance given to me by a loan. I then paid it off. I think that is the way it is supposed to be.

If I apply for a 10K loan today, do I have to pay if off?
How are they going to check my income?
What processes are in place to prevent fraud?

I don't have a student loan. Maybe I should apply, knowing I'll be turned down - but I can just gum up the works for an extra hour or so. It'll take a long time to untangle this string of pearls.

The Republicans stood by while the Democrats refused to fund Trump's border wall, using the cost as a concern. There's hardly a peep in objection and certainly no real action in stopping Dung's profligate spending, though, probably because most Republicans are in on the action, and worse than the Dems because they lie about who they are to win their offices.

This latest apparent Biden and far left Democrat fiasco coming at the start of the 2022 political “funny season” run up to the November election smells like a Democrat vote buying scheme aimed at that upcoming election. Chances are the wimpy Republicans will stay silent until after the November election and allow the voters to speak for themselves. Following that, there is little doubt that this Biden and Democrat student loan cancelling scheme will end up in the federal courts with a 50/50 chance that in the end it will come before the Supreme Court, that will rule that Biden did not have the authority to institute such a scheme. Following that, Biden and the Democrats will push the political line all the way to the 2024 election that Biden and the Democrats gave up to $20,000 in student loan relief to college students (the truth be known, some of who took out student loans, but never attended college) but that the wimpy Republicans through the Supreme Court then took all that money back. Right now it looks like the potential student loan relief recipients may be being taken for a Biden and Democrat bogus political ride.

Yes, its a given that “they” clearly did not think this debt forgiveness rollout through (unconstitutionally and illegally aside). “They” are tactically just vote peddling for the midterms.
But please STOP the pretense that Joe Biden, the individual, did decide—let alone conceive of—this monstrosity of an idea of student debt forgiveness. The man is cognitively delinquent and he probably can’t even tie his own shoes at this point. No, what we are witnessing is elder abuse by Obama retreads like Rice (if not Barry himself) to push their leftist hobby horses through this moldy sock puppet formerly known as Joe Biden.

The Republicans will do nothing to stop this for a reason. They have elections to look forward to also. Keep the masses aggravated and hostile and they'll vote Republican. If the problem went away too soon, they might not get the votes they are hoping for. Both sides play the voters. Both sides use voters as proper garden tools.

No crisis on the Southern border. No crisis in major cities awash in crime. No fentnyl or opioid or human trafficking crisis. No crisis in public education. No crisis at the gas pump or grocery store.
No student loan crisis either. It's a crisis of deadbeat borrowers, greedy lenders, and elitist education administrators selling a phony defective dream. FJB.

How will this affect the borrowers income tax? Will the $10,000/$20,000 payment be counted as income to the borrower? How about the loan itself? Will it also be counted as income to the borrower? After all, they got money from the loan and now they're getting more money to pay off the loan. Sure sounds like income to me!

This is how the Old Fool always operates. Just sign a piece of paper and all the problems are solved. I bet the loan holders don't have an accounting entry for 'loan forgiveness'. You can't just change the balance by crediting the account.
