Justice Department officials assume they can't rely on what former President Donald Trump's lawyers say given Trump's volatility as a client.
That's according to The New York Times, which reported that department officials had been in communication with Trump's representatives for months while trying to recover hundreds of pages of government records that were improperly moved from the White House to Mar-a-Lago after Trump left office.
The report cited Justice Department officials as saying they worked under the assumption that Trump's lawyers couldn't "speak with authority" for him because he could change his mind at the drop of a hat

This represents an lot of problems with government employees and their Democrat representatives that run the government. They actually seem to have convinced themselves that other people are as crooked and evil as they are.

The PRESIDENT can remove any damned papers that he wants to. "Improperly removed" is pure BS. These miniature, evil weasels have no right to make this sort of a "determination". The PRESIDENT literally Trumps them totally.

In who's opinion were they improperly removed.?
Thy DOJ or the Archivists.> I suppose it will be up to a Judge to decide.
Just hope it isn't a District of Columbia Judge.

I'm tired of this game. No official information. Just leaks to the NYTimes about things that may or may not be real. (Likely not given events over the last seven years.) Then the Times spins with it and the Democrat media just laps it up. Lets see how the lawyers for the Dems and the DOJ fair when the malicious prosecution case proceeds.

So defense attorneys are obsolete? Their clients can’t be trusted, so everyone goes to jail? What country is this? Oh yeah, the one where yellow criminals invading the country get free travel, four star hotels and a free phone. The USA exists in name only. The Constitution is now toilet paper. If American women keep voting Democrat, they’ll be added to the list of free gifts to the Central American men invading the southern border. What immigrant wouldn’t want an American woman to do his cooking and cleaning while bearing his children? This is PRECISELY why women should lose the right to vote.

Their goal OBVIOUSLY is to destroy him "by any means necessary.". Has not stopped since he announced his candidacy. How media & others can pretend their is some real misconduct the gov't is " investigating " is beyond me.

Wow, DOJ. Hypocritical much? Withholding information is your modus operandi, not Trump's.

Was this from a DOJ filing? If not, it is just b/s because the DOJ does not speak about ongoing investigations. Fake news!

Wait, wait, wait - Trump can’t be trusted because he “ignores advise and withholds information”?
Who was investigated repeatedly on bogus charges? Who had to deal with innumerable leaks from “highly placed sources” during his presidency? Who had advisors who deliberately withheld information from him? Why, why does the DOJ think Trump will behave just like a government official?

The DOJ releases a different trial balloon leak everyday to see which narrative will stick and poll well with dem voters. Notice all the stories about how it’s not a sure thing that dems will lose badly in the midterms? It’s all a government/media-coordinated pr campaign.

Why you poor bastids at DOJ!
Hey! Did Trump ever pay for a completely false dossier on his enemy and have his lawyers give it to you guys while denying they were Trump's lawyers and then collaborate with you to investigate the dossier target for 3 freaken years and have a special counsel for $35 mil who found Nuttin' Honey against the target? And wire tap the DOJ offices via a bogus writ? And target your families and staff with bogus prosecutions???
Because if Trump did all that he'd only be tied with you sumbees.
Disgusting.

You mean there are clients who don't follow their lawyer's "advice."
As an attorney friend of mine told me, he has become a wealthy man on clients who didn't take his advice.
