As expected, President Joe Biden made a unilateral move Wednesday to implement a student loan forgiveness plan that “will include at least $10,000 in loan forgiveness for borrowers who make less than $125,000 annually, as well as another payment freeze for roughly four months.” While Republican members of Congress are understandably outraged, most of the ones openly speaking out against Biden’s move seem to be studiously avoiding the “i” word (impeachment) even though that is an option that should definitely be on the table considering Biden does not have the authority to carry out this plan, which does an end run around Congress and the required legislative process.

Under 125,000.00 annual income is just about every college graduate except for a select few. The highest paying degree for the average graduate is in computer science, bringing in about 76K per year.
Where did Joementia pull this number from?

Does this same "authority" give a president the ability to forgive tax debt?
Just asking for a friend.

This sounds like a job for 87,000 new IRS agents to get cracking on. Gotta find a lot of errors to generate the kind of simoleons needed to cover a 300Billion deadbeat loans-for-votes scam. Y'all reported that $50 gramma sent you for your birthday, right?

#1 - IRT your question, the number was arrived at after a "very in-depth analysis" (see article below). And if that's true then it's no doubt time for another vacation.

A better move would have been to set the interest rate on these loans to zero and let the complicit banks take the hit, not the working middle class. Every other penny of the trillions of dollars that Joe has stolen in the name of stimulus, green energy and favors to Russia and China has also hurt the middle class more than anybody, especially the worthless bums who thought they could breeze through a worthless college and not pay back their loan.

What can be dictated by EO can be undictated by EO. Those who live by the EO die by the EO. SCOTUS will overturn the EO, as the power of the purse is a Legislative function not an Executive function. Dr Jill should know that, just read the Constitution.

#7, that seems to be a reasonable solution. However, the vast majority still will not pay. I knew an attorney who was paying on her student loans 20+ years after passing the bar and she did everything in her power to avoid that payment. You cannot force people to be responsible by forgiving a debt or part of a debt. Those who were delinquent before this windfall will be delinquent afterward. It’s a matter of character. This is just another illegal and immoral act by a guy who has no moral compass. Let’s call it what it is, bribery.

The takeaway from this article has nothing to do with "student loan debt". It is prime evidence (as if anyone needed more) of leftist democrats total dishonesty and contempt for the American citizen. They will do and say anything to hold onto power, and they do not care who knows it.

So . . . why not cancel MORE than $10,000 in student loan debt? Why stop at those making less than $125,000/year (btw, I am 53 and I've never made anything near that amount)? Why not cancel other debts in the name of emergency relief? I mean, the president could apparently cancel all debt everywhere.
Does he think he can cancel the debt of sin too? Is Biden an 80-year-old Jesus without a beard? Was his mother's name Mary?
Absurd questions for an absurd president.

Biden conducted another massive giveaway for which Pelosi could not claim credit, that's why she contradicted him. The stimulus checks to deadbeats and the deliberately-unemployed are no different than this "forgiveness."

How about this plan: write an EO imposing a substantial wealth tax on private University endowment money? After all, it's just sitting there earning interest, when it could be doing SO much good, cancelling the debt of struggling graduates.
