North Carolina Supreme Court Enacts a
Full-Scale Judicial Coup

Original Article

North Carolina’s Supreme Court has made one of the most insane judicial decisions in the nation’s history, and that’s absolutely not hyperbole. In what can only be described as a full-scale judicial coup, the Democrat-controlled body has ruled that the North Carolina General Assembly is illegitimate and can not enact amendments to the state’s constitution.

Comments:

This "coup" is exactly what many Trumpistas would like to see happen in various states where '20 election fraud occurred. The problem no one talks about is exactly this: If the '20 election was a fraud, with thousands of ballots illegally cast...well, every office on the ballot must be presumed fraudulently elected. And then we get into this...are any laws passed legit? How about decisions made by state supreme courts with elected justices? Then there's redistricting. And the obvious answer...

Assuming i read this correctly, the NC State Supreme Court has ruled that the legislature is illegal and presumably a nullity. Somewhat reminiscent of the defendant who put the judge under his personal supervision. It would interesting to know what other laws they passed that are void. The supreme court’s budget perhaps? I guess the answer is to ignore the supreme court. Or will they order the sherriff to disband the legis

I was wondering the same thing about Biden. If he is not mentally competent to know what he's doing, are any laws or Executive Orders he's signed valid? A mentally incompetent person can't stand trial or sign any legal documents such as a Will. If Biden took a cognitive test and was found mentally incompetent, anything he signs is null and void. Just a thought.

OP, you have that curious Tourette’s Syndrome ability to turn any article or discussion into a slam on Trump supporters. This article is about an unprecedented attack on the legislative branch of government by the judiciary. Using your analogy, this is exactly what DID happen to state legislatures across the country by the courts.

Absolutely insane. Hope the article is correct that the court will flip in November...but I'd like to see this go all the way to the current SCOTUS so they can nip this in the bud before this gets out of control.

Hey, OP! You can shove your snide “Trumpista” comments. The NC Legislature needs to step on the throats of some Antifa/BLM/Leftist Supreme Court justices and get them to stop legislating from the bench, and stay in their own lane. They should immediately file articles of impeachment for these Marxist hacks.

#7 - Literally daily there is a story or opinion piece regarding the illegitimacy of the '20 election. Is there not? And there is regular cheering for the invalidation of various state Presidential electors due to fraud, i.e. stuffing ballot boxes and bogus machine counts. No? My point is not to "slam Trump supporters", rather to inject a little reality to the incessant cheerleading. To promote a moment of thought regarding the possible/likely ramifications. There are some, perhaps you, that cannot grasp or refuse to consider the potential fallout of all this. This NC case is a fine example of those unintended consequences. Racial gerrymandering is one of those things that courts find impermissible, and have for 50 years. The NC legislature certainly knew what it was doing in redistricting as it did. And now come those consequences in a courtroom, and they cascade in effect. Had the shoe been on the other foot, say in California, no "coup" would have happened, but justice. Right? If any state legislature moves to invalidate its '20 Biden electors on the basis of voter fraud, well...doesn't it stand to reason that the fraud of stuffed ballots extends beyond the Presidential race? Let's hear the arguments that this illegitimacy only involved that one race, and this extensive fraud did not possibly influence the outcome of elections for other offices. Don't think all this wouldn't end up in a courtroom? Just think about it. Frankly, whether you like articles I post, or not. Whether you agree with my comments, or not. That's your privilege. Explain your point of view. You're free to carry on. Ignore me. But then, what's that posters often say about taking flak...? BTW: I am a Trump supporter having freely, without reservation, voted for him twice in general elections and twice more in primaries. But I am not a devotee of any politician. I learned that lesson years ago.

I said the other day, when Joe signed that big, outrageous climate change bill, that not only is he mentally incompetent and anything he signed should automatically be null and void, but his election was fraudulent. Anyone who can count knows this. These last two years should be wiped off the record as a huge crime committed against the American people.

America’s national debt has climbed north of $31 trillion for the first time, a milestone that comes at a time of historically high inflation, rising interest rates and growing economic uncertainty. The nation’s total public debt outstanding closed at $31.1 trillion on Monday, according to Treasury Department data published Tuesday. The US government went on a borrowing spree during the Covid-19 pandemic to help shore up the nation’s economy as the deadly virus upended lives, labor markets and supply chains. Outstanding debt has climbed nearly $8 trillion since the beginning of 2020. And it has jumped by $1 trillion in just eight months.

His father was Jewish and had hidden “under the floorboards,” as he put it, during the Nazi occupation. When Goemans came to the United States to study international relations, he recalled being asked in one class about his most formative personal experience of international relations. He said that it was the Second World War. The other students objected that this wasn’t personal enough. But it was very personal for Goemans.

In his new book released today, Breaking History: A White House Memoir, Kushner wrote that unlike in other campaigns, the candidate decided to lead the search for a running mate, and Trump initially settled on Pence, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Kushner, who was the unofficial campaign manager, wrote that all three fit with Trump’s goal of ignoring the Washington “elite” and reaching out to blue-collar voters.

When the U.S. Supreme Court repealed in June a woman’s constitutional right to an abortion, Wisconsin’s 1849 law that bans the procedure except when a mother’s life is at risk became newly relevant. Republicans in the Legislature blocked an attempt by Democratic Gov. Tony Evers to overturn the law. Yet there’s disagreement inside the GOP over how to move forward when they return to the state Capitol in January. The state’s powerful Republican Assembly speaker, Robin Vos, supports reinforcing the exception for a mother’s life and adding protections for instances involving rape and incest.
