Chicago Marathon's quiet nonbinary division
addition 'feels hurtful,' runner says

Some Chicago Marathon runners are feeling a little blue heading into this weekend’s race. One of the biggest events of the year for the sport followed Boston and London with the creation of a nonbinary division for runners who don’t identify as male or female. The lack of hype around the new inclusive division left some of those who identify as such with a bad taste in their mouths. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, there was no major announcement to coincide with the division. "Personally, it feels hurtful because it feels performative, or brushed under the rug, because it really is a big deal," Cal Calamia told the newspaper

Comments:

Nothing is ever enough with the they/them/it crowd. Acceptance isn't sufficient, they want us to celebrate them too.

I was going to say what the poster said. You got a checkbox but because you didn't get a lot of attention and no one put out a TikTok video to declare "the first ever non binary marathon division!!!!" and a bunch of other noise it is insulting and offensive??? Go jump in a lake. You're lucky you haven't been locked up as threat to yourself. You need help. Not a loud celebration of so called mon binary running. Grow up. Or at least get help for your serious mental illness and narcissism.

‘It feels performative’. They should know because everything transgenders do or say is performative. Catering to the mentally ill using their own made-up words doesn’t seem to be as helpful as they wanted. One of the guys pretending to be a woman will win that race.

Seems to me hat the LGBTQ crowd is not happy unless all of the attention is focused on them. There is big confetti laden announcement regarding the "nonbinary" division so they/them are unhappy. Just sign up, run the marathon, and be happy. You are already getting special treatment with your special category for people who seem confused about what is (or isn't) between their legs. This just seems to be a category where the slow men get a chance to be winners.
