Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas stepped down from his job as a law lecturer at George Washington University's as controversy over the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade rumbles on.
Thomas has been a lecturer at the school since 2011, but has now been removed as faculty from its website. His decision not to return to teaching comes in the wake of protests against conservative supreme court judges following the overturning of Roe v Wade in June 2022.
The school was hit by a petition calling for the removal of Thomas, with more than 11,000 signatories. But George Washington University is home to just 1,600 students, and bosses there defended Thomas,

Well, he's not stupid. His lectures would have been scheduled for particular times and places. Democrats are hateful and violent, and many of them want to kill him. Why would he put himself out there as an easy target to be murdered?

It is doubtful if any of the petition’s signatories have the intellect or judgment which Thomas possesses, and none of them have walked through life in his shoes. My guess is if our Founders could see how low signatories like these have descended, they would conclude that such fools truly deserve what is coming for them. These idiots take their freedoms for granted, most having never sacrificed a thing to ensure their freedom. And so, they will lose it, and THEIR kids will grow to adulthood as SLAVES. Have a Nice Day, comrades.

These people think nothing of ripping babies apart and killing them, they would not hesitate to kill Clarence Thomas if given an opportunity. Since one of them has already tried to murder Justice Kavanaugh, Justice Thomas is smart in not giving them a chance at him.

Driven out by a howling mob of leftists. There should have been 22,000 signatures by those that wanted him to stay. It’s disgusting how one-sided all this disgrace is.

#10, That is the solution. The time for passivity has passed. You cannot sit idly by and let the lawless run roughshod over our institutions, cities, or government. I understand GWU is a hotbed of rabid leftists, but you would think that other staff would be able to see the dangerous precedent this is setting. Anger the mob, and you are outta there.
I can’t believe what is happening our country. I actually fear what could happen in the future if we do not take the House and Senate. Democrats have done their best to stir up their already angry base who now acts like a mob if they encounter anything they do not like. Biden has set the table for anarchy and will eagerly use that mayhem as a weapon against their opposition. God help us. We are in a world of hurt.

The only damage done will be to the students who will lose access to the knowledge of this great man. Looking at the numbers indicates that this was outside influence to fulfill a leftist agenda and not what actual students and GW wanted. In other words, a Soros slash and burn operation.

Judge Thomas made the right decision as it affects him. The sad thing is, once again the system has allowed these activists to win because there was nothing and no one to stand up to these usurpers other than a lone individual.

Way too many of those who preach diversity and inclusiveness are the most close-minded of all, and way too many of our universities do not believe in academic freedom, and so they turn our students who are not really diverse and not really inclusive.

GWU should be shut down, but that would be exactly what the left mob does, which is silencing all opposing views.
There are so many social justice factories posing as universities out there, so many to boycott.
And by the way, do these 11,000 "students" who signed the petition know that abortiion is legal in DC, Maryland and Virginia? Probably not.

Wait a minute! 1600 attend the GWU Law School and 11,000 signed the petition? Who are the other 9400 that aren't in the law school?
So others, not from the law school, don't want Justice Thomas to speak as a law lecturer???
So much for hearing an argument from the other side in Court or at an University!!! THESE ARE FUTURE ATTORNEYS? FIRE THEM ALL!

11,000 sigs & only 1600 students? Did all 1600 sign it? No, then how many? If not many, screw change.org.
Any students who signed it are doing themselves - & their future clients - a grave disservice, but have shown themselves to be what they truly are, narrow-minded selfish souls. Since the school said he is entitled to his views, they should have insisted he stay on.
