MARIETTA, Ga. — Parents in Cobb County are demanding an apology because of a new elementary school logo they claim resembles a Nazi eagle symbol. The school in question is East Side Elementary near Marietta. A spokesperson for the Cobb County School District on Tuesday claimed the logo wasn't designed with Nazi imagery in mind, but because of backlash, the rollout of the new logo has now been halted. On social media, the school displays a current logo using an eagle as the centerpiece. On Monday a new eagle logo was sent to parents in an email from East Side's principal.

Comments:

New logo is actually based on a US Army colonel's eagle wings.

That does not look anything like a Reichsalder. If the wingtips were to point upward it would look more like the National Recovery Act symbol from the New Deal.

I always understood if the eagle is pictured look to it's left it means war. If looking to it's right it means peace. Looks like the school is at war with the parents. and America.

This is just another example of the current tendency to take offense at everything. It is certainly understandable for Jewish parents to object to Nazi symbolism, but they need to do a bit of research before crediting the Nazis as entitled to be symbolized by the eagle. The eagle has been used as a symbol for many nations in history in history. It just happens to be the official symbol of our own United States of America. (This is one of the very few things Ben Franklin may have been wrong about: The turkey might be an appropriate symbol of the current administration, but the eagle is a better choice for our nation - IMHO.) Even the swastika was a respectable and widely respected symbol long before Hitler's party despoiled it. I have several old Rudyard Kipling books printed in 1923, but originally copyrighted by Kipling in 1899, which have gold stamped swastikas on their red leather covers. (They have the arms in the reverse direction, but they are still the same symbols) The current leftist lunacy of condemning the founders for failure to observe cultural "norms" that leftists dreamed up last week and now term "social justice" is a prime example of Presentism - originally a theological construct, but now use to condemn our founders for not having adhered to today's knee-jerk evaluations.

So! The Nazi's incorporated the eagle symbol they don't own it. The gays stole the rainbow symbol for their logo, but they don't own it except if a heterosexual uses it now, they may be labeled gay. I'm not offended by the symbol but I don't attend that school.

The eagle is not a nazi symbol, the eagle was a national and military symbol of greatness in Roman times and probably long before that. Get over it folks. Quit trying to call people nazis. Stop trying to see things to hate everywhere. We have enough problems now just enduring a few years of the big guy's regime.

Former Democratic Labor Secretary Robert Reich believes it may be time for Democrats to kick Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., out of the party because they "already lost control over the Senate" and can’t get anything done despite appearing to have power. Reich, who served as secretary of Labor under President Clinton and was a member of President Obama’s economic transition advisory board, wrote on Substack that kicking Manchin out of the party would at least allow Democrats to admit they didn’t truly have control when Americans head off to vote in the looming midterm elections. The chances that Biden could attract a primary challenger are rising amid devastating polling numbers with Democrats and particularly young voters. But that willingness to prop up the sinking president has been wearing thin. Day by day, Democrats are considering a possible new scenario: challenging the sitting president for the 2024 nomination. “Unless Biden comes to
