The Rise of Hispanic Religious Republicans

Original Article

The New York Times is famous for its anthropological studies of conservatives — what wags have called “gorillas in the mist” coverage. The newspaper’s latest anthropological installment is “The Rise of the Far-Right Latina.” That smearing label tells us less about the three Hispanic Texas Republicans profiled in the piece than it does the paper’s hysterical liberal bias and the left’s general obtuseness. Even prosaic conservatism, grounded in the country’s history and traditions, qualifies as “far-right” to woke reporters like Jennifer Medina, who never bothers to examine in the article the “far-left” character of the Democratic Party and progressive movement that is driving Hispanics into the arms of the GOP.

It's the insane policies of the left's embracing homosexuality and the absolute lunacy of so-called transgenderism that is pushing Hispanics away from the 'rat party. I think the abortion issue is also a factor for why Hispanics are turning away from the left. The Latino culture is still very much about family and they know it would be insane to foist these beliefs on their children. For years I've thought the Republicans should point to the failure of African American families because of the 'rat party and ask Hispanics if that's what they want for their families.

I remember entire Hispanic blocks of North Philly's Badlands decked-out in "Trump 2020" signs. Some of the houses still have those signs up. They hate what's going on now.

Hispanics are more religious and family oriented than the white trash in the democrap party. They believe in God, family and country. NYT you can do all your sneering you want but these people are far more decent than any of you will ever be.

"Hispanics" are not a bloc. They are several different nationalities that have different views and cultures, and those who vote are generally natural born Americans through generations. Americans of Mexican descent, particularly along the border, have no love to lose for the border jumpers. They do not identify as Mexicans. These are patriotic Americans who serve this country and their communities well. And this is what has been forgotten by "conservatives". The Democrats are a radical urban-centric party. They're not for the "little guy" but for whatever collection of libs and "oppressed" they can collect. The Dem party is headed for an implosion as the Greatest Generation and Boomers are extinguished and their FDR/JFK "liberal" values fade with them.

Many people believe electric vehicles are higher quality than gas-powered vehicles and are emissions-free, which makes them much better for the environment. But two recent studies have shown that electric cars have more quality issues than gas-powered ones and are not better for the environment. J.D. Power has produced the annual U.S. Initial Quality Study for 36 years, which measures the quality of new vehicles based on feedback from owners. The most recent study, which included Tesla in its industry calculation for the first time, found that battery-electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles have more quality issues than gas-powered ones

President Biden’s executive order supporting abortion access “is deeply disturbing and tragic,” and walks a “path that leads to death and destruction,” one of the top Roman Catholic pro-life voices said in a statement this weekend. Archbishop William Lori of Baltimore, chairman of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, said Mr. Biden has decided “to promote and facilitate abortion in our country, seeking every possible avenue to deny unborn children their most basic human and civil right, the right to life.”

It’s safe to say that Democrats have noticed the recent exodus of large numbers of Hispanic voters from their party. Because they know that in a close election, a one- or two-point shift in the minority vote could sway the outcome of the race, panicked party leaders are looking for ways to stop the bleeding. Master of the universe George Soros, who understands the significance of politics at the local level, has backed a group that plans to purchase 18 conservative Hispanic radio stations for $60 million later this year, according to Fox News. The deal is currently awaiting approval from the Federal Communication Commission.

The Supreme Court ruling Thursday that reined in the Environmental Protection Agency‘s power to regulate climate change was a win for conservatives who have long sought to shrink the “administrative state,” a power federal agencies wield over large swaths of the U.S. economy and everyday life. But environmental experts and advocates have warned that it could have far-reaching implications for both combating climate change and how the federal government sets other regulations. “The court has placed its thumb on the scales — an anti-regulatory thumb — that’s going to make it much more difficult for agencies to regulate,”

If you’re keeping an eye on what Sen. John Cornyn has in store for your Second Amendment rights, you might want to watch his other hand. He has just recently reintroduced the Civics Secures Democracy Act, which would enable the federal government to impose critical race theory (CRT) — that is, state-sanctioned racism and anti-Americanism — on public school civics courses via federal grants. Of course, the drafters of the bill are too politically savvy to explicitly endorse critical race theory.

For congressional Republicans, the election can’t come soon enough. In the modern era, it’s hard to think of a time when the party out of power had more things going its way. Harry Enten, CNN’s political data analyst, recently noted that going by the generic ballot, things haven’t looked this good for Republicans to pick up House seats in the midterms since 1938. Since 1980, the party of the president in power has lost an average of 22 seats in the midterms. Republicans need only nine to win the majority. Of course, Republicans think this means they’re doing something right.

In the neighborhood in which my kids grew up, none of the high-school-aged boys wanted to date. The problem was that the high school girls were too difficult. The US has inflicted more than $1.9tn in damage to other countries from the effects of its greenhouse gas emissions, according to a new analysis that has provided the first measurement of nations’ liability in stoking the climate crisis. The huge volume of planet-heating gases pumped out by the US, the largest historical emitter, has caused such harm to other, mostly poor, countries through heatwaves, crop failures and other consequences that the US is responsible for $1.91tn in lost global income since 1990, the study found. This puts the US ahead of China, currently the world’s leading emitter, Russian, India and Brazil as the next largest contributors to global

Jennings said: “I definitely think there are a lot of Republicans out there who voted for Donald Trump twice, maybe gave him money, wanted to see him succeed who know we cannot drag the country and the party through this again in 2024, that he’s the least likely Republican to have a chance to win the White House …

The Brittney Griner story has been one which tears at us from two sides. When we hear about an American being detained in a foreign country for offenses which are considered minor here in the U.S., we often become sympathetic, depending on the infraction, of course. And when we learn that the country holding that prisoner is an archrival or enemy such as China, Iran, North Korea, or Russia, our sympathies become that much stronger. In the case of Brittney Griner, however, things aren’t that simple. Griner, who has been detained in a Russian prison since her arrest at a Moscow airport for possession of cannabis oil
