It may seem radical to say it these days, but it’s true: America is a nation founded on Judeo-Christian values. Words from scripture are inscribed on our money and our most hallowed institutions, including Congress, the US Supreme Court and state capitols everywhere. Our Declaration of Independence acknowledges our “Creator” as the being from whom all our rights flow.
This does not mean that other religious groups are not welcome in America. Of course they are. People who practice no religion at all are also welcome.
But while the First Amendment guarantees the free exercise of religion,

If you read The Book, it comes as no surprise. All predicted.
I really hate that "turn the other cheek" part, though.

HERE HERE!
Push back.
Stand up for your Maker and the life that he gave you. Take them on, one on one and they back right down.
They are unaccustomed to being challenged and deflate like a balloon when you do.
Try it, it's fun!

#1 it doesn’t mean what people think it means. In those days, slaves or those of a lesser status would be struck using the back of the hand. By turning your head, it made whoever struck you use their palms, which was reserved for those of equal status. It is by no means a call for pacifism or to just take whatever abuse is given out.

Thanks for the clarification, #3. Good to know.
(I wasn't planning on complying anyway. I've had enough of these godless vermin.)

No one is more evangelical about his or her beliefs than an atheists.
Heck, communists atheists killed millions to push their beliefs. More than all religious fanatics put together.

Our founding fathers would be mighty confused over the adjective Judeo-Christian since it didn’t exist during the time of our founding. It first appeared in the 19th century as a descriptor of Jews who had converted to Christianity.
Since Christianity itself incorporates much of Judaism the “Judeo” in Judeo-Christian is redundant. Our nation was, in part, founded on Christian values. Many values, of course, came from pre-Christian Greece and the pre-Christian Roman Republic.

No, as a Christian, I’m not sick of being persecuted for my beliefs, I just try and do as Jesus taught His Disciples, ‘Shake the dust off your feet, and move on,’ [loosely paraphrased]. BUT, begin each day in prayer to be a godly, loving example of His call. And as I read through Scripture each year, yearly completely getting another degree a few years ago, if I was asked the theme of the Bible in one word, it would be “Mercy.”
Miss Mercy May was the name of my rescue Yorkie pup back then. Sadly, she passed away and we now have Miss GoGo Qadash. [Can you tell I was studying the Hebrew names of God several years ago when I got her!]
Everyone needs a pup to walk and love as they witness 💞🐾🐾

The Book...is that the Torah, Koran, The Vedas, Dao De Jing, Avesta, The Book of Shadows...some other holy text? And therein lies the core of conflict despite much agreement among these and others. Mine is the true religion, the rest mere cults.
Religion is like that Buffalo Springfield song where nobody's right and everybody's wrong. As we converse, there are reportedly groups arranging to test the recent Kennedy decision, trying to recruit coaches and teachers of non-Christian beliefs to throw down their prayer rugs and other sacred paraphernalia on playing fields and in classrooms to test the limits. I expect only support from the Kennedy crowd.

It's like any other group. There are wonderful Christian people and there are hideous, judgmental bores. The ones I know want to be left alone to live their lives and practice their faith. They don't want to get in people's faces and don't care what others do. But they don't want the sins of others forced into their own homes.

#1,#3,#4~ “Turn the other cheek.” / Scripture was written for all time—past, present, future. During “The Sermon on the Mount,” Jesus said, “...Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Jesus was teaching “a totally different attitude for His disciples, one He practiced. He illustrated this nonresistance with four examples. He is not teaching pacifism or that governing authorities cannot exert force but is describing the response of someone facing persecution. (slaps...turn – More of an insult than an attempt to do physical harm.)” [Matthew 5:39] ~ cf. When Jesus was brought before Caiaphas and the Council: “Then they spit in his face and struck him. And some slapped him, saying, “Prophesy to us, you Christ! Who is it that struck you?” [Matthew 26:67-68]
Jesus overturned “the common ethics of human culture to emphasize the Father’s ways of love and mercy. God calls you to have self-sacrificing love. Pray for wisdom and patience with yourself as you put God’s ways into practice.” Mankind needs to pray asking to be led “to love the ungrateful and the evil, even as You have loved and cared for us.”
