Have you been meaning to plan a trip to Paris? Have you dreamed of having a croissant and some tea on the Left Bank, visiting the Louvre, and checking out the Mona Lisa? Have you thought about stopping by to see how those repairs to the Cathedral of Notre Dame are coming along? Well, if you’re intent on also admiring the Eiffel Tower you had better book that trip soon. And when you’re there, maybe you can suggest that some of those repair crews at the Notre Dame pack their tools and head west on the Rue de Babylone so they can start repairing the Eiffel Tower.

Vive La Socialism! I'll be heading to an American national park for my next vacation, thank you very much.

That can happen to the Golden Gate Bridge in the same number of years. The greenies didn’t like the good lead-based oil paint originally used, so they switched to the worthless water-based brand. Water-based does not hold up well at all compared to oil. Soon, that bridge could be condemned. Socialists screw up everything.

Not surprising. I had a french car, the worst mistake I ever made. Transmission went within three years, the heater never worked right, thermostats never operated properly, had to replace many of them. Got rid of it and bought an American car.

The US has schools with leaking roofs and rotting interiors...deferred maintenance that never gets done. The Eiffel Tower needs repairs, but is no danger of collapse. Many of those US schools are, if not mold factories already. As far as American national parks, have fun finding an open rest room or sufficient parking...if you can get in. There the obligatory shuttles may be running on time, or not, and you may find a seat, or not. They're nothing like they once were.

France is NOT a socialist country. It is a market based economy with a hefty welfare component, just like us. There is no state ownership of industry although the government imposes rules and regulations on corporations, just as the USA does. France doesn’t run the obscene deficits that we do so I’m sure it has the money to keep the Eiffel Tower up to snuff. This article didn’t display any evidence that it is falling apart. Just another anti-European hit job.

Harry Styles is “heartbroken” after being forced to cancel a show in Copenhagen due to a deadly shooting at a nearby mall. “I’m heartbroken along with the people of Copenhagen. I adore this city. The people are so warm and full of love,” Styles, 28, tweeted Sunday evening. “I’m devastated for the victims, their families, and everyone hurting. I’m sorry we couldn’t be together. Please look after each other. The similarities between California Governor Gavin “Gruesome” Newsom and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are quite remarkable. They both spend far too much time focusing on their hair and looking in the mirror. They’re both entirely self-absorbed and are thoroughly impressed with themselves. And they’re both completely incompetent, far-left clowns with virtually no morals. Newsom and Trudeau are truly despicable human beings. They also appear to be in a competition to see who’s the biggest knucklehead. For the time being, Mr. Newsom takes that honor by breaking a tie between himself and Trudeau, as Newsom makes his second appearance in our weekly tribute to stupidity.

Consistent with their mindset of “America Last,” our friends on the left would have us follow the lead of other countries on virtually every issue. Our elections? Do away with the Electoral College and implement the popular vote like they do in Mexico and Brazil. Health care? Let’s be like the Scandinavians and switch to socialized medicine. Gun control? Let’s take away everyone’s guns as they did in New Zealand. Democrats in America love other countries almost as much as they love abortions. Almost. But there is nothing Democrats love more than abortions – with the possible exception of Drag Queen story hour

Texas Gov. Hours after the bodies were discovered in the back of an 18-wheeler in San Antonio Monday evening, the Republican governor fired off a tweet saying, “These deaths are on Biden.” “They are a result of his deadly open border policies,” he added. “They show the deadly consequences of his refusal to enforce the law.”

To paraphrase the great John Bradford, “There, but for the Grace of God, go we.” Considering the high-profile status that Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has achieved, it’s easy to forget that he almost lost his state’s gubernatorial election four years ago. He may be the front runner to succeed Donald Trump as the GOP’s presidential nominee during the next election cycle should Trump decide to sit it out, but in 2018 Governor DeSantis barely squeaked by the Democrats’ candidate, former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum. Fortunately for Florida, and indeed for all Americans, DeSantis succeeded in defeating Gillum the last time around,

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon said the gunman who shot and killed two El Monte police officers had “no history of violence” as he defended how his office handled a recent weapons case against the cop killer. Shooter William Flores was out on probation – though he could have been behind bars — following a 2021 plea deal connected to a drugs and weapons arrest when he shot and killed El Monte Corporal Michael Paredes, 42, and officer Joseph Santana, 31 on June 14. Gascon, during Tuesday afternoon’s press conference, argued Flores’ criminal history “did not contain any evidence of violence,”

Joe Manchin (D-WV), who was primarily responsible for tanking the Build Back Better Act, continues to hold talks with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on a reconciliation package that would spend $500 billion and raise $1 trillion in revenue. The package would primarily focus on health care, energy, and taxes. For many readers, the above title will conjure up memories of the 2008 housing crash caused by the proliferation of subprime mortgages and the subsequent tsunami of defaults. But a better corollary for the coming Biden bust is the Carter crash that occurred three decades earlier. During the final two years of Carter’s term, sales of existing and new homes collapsed because the Fed was forced to raise interest rates sharply to get double-digit inflation under control. This, in turn, produced double-digit mortgage rates that priced millions of potential buyers out of the market.
