Sunday on MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation,” Democratic strategist James Carville sounded the alarm over the upcoming midterm elections.
After sharing how “petrified” and “mortified” he was heading into the midterms, Carville said that “if this country does not have a voter intervention,” then he was “not optimistic about its future.” “I am not a voice of calm. I’m petrified,” Carville told host Al Sharpton. “And I will echo what my friend Congressman Clyburn said — if this country does not have voter intervention, I am not optimistic about its future.” “And if people, and particularly young people, if they care any about this country — and as you know; you were once

It’s pretty clear that the left is organizing to dump Joe Biden when it becomes evident that he’s a certain loser in 2024. Rather that waiting for a Ted Kennedy-like figure to challenge him in the 2024 primaries, which would likely doom Democrats to certain defeat, the left will need to push him out early, and clear the calendar for one or more Democrats to organize a serious presidential campaign. (It goes without saying the Democratic Party intelligentsia knows that Kamala Harris is a hopeless candidate.)
There really isn’t a towering Ted Kennedy-like figure in the Democratic Party today.

If there was ever a holiday your commie sister-in-law and her man-bunned soi-boifriend hate it would be July 4th. As an American, a patriot, and a descendant of filthy colonizers, I take great pride in our nation. I also really enjoy annoying pinkos all weekend long and I invite you to do the same. Here are some helpful hints on how to bother your local bolshies.
Tip #1: A “Happy Birthday America” Party
Long ago, while working in a New York City office, I wore a birthday hat all day at work on Christmas Eve Day. The Christians got it and were tickled. When my liberal co-workers asked whose birthday it was,

New York Times columnist Margaret Renkl may be based in Nashville, but she’s as contemptuous of Trumpers and Red Staters as any of the paper’s Manhattan-based writers, as shown in her latest self-important trashing of an American holiday: “The American Flag Belongs to Me, Too, and This Year I’m Taking It Back.”
She reminisced how in her younger days, “We were all proud to be Americans, even if we didn’t agree about which aspects of our sprawling, messy democracy merited pride.” Not anymore though, with Old Glory now hijacked by the Red Staters, in all their irredeemable tackiness.

A gunman has killed three people and wounded others, three of them critically, at one of Denmark's biggest shopping malls, police say.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with the attack which sparked panic among shoppers at Field's mall in south Copenhagen.
Police chief Soeren Thomassen said the motive was unclear and he could not rule out an "act of terrorism".
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said Denmark had suffered a cruel attack. Sending condolences to those who had lost loved ones, she said she wanted to encourage Danes to stand together and support each other in this difficult time.
"Denmark was hit by a cruel attack on Sunday night," she said.

The Texas Supreme Court on Friday blocked a lower court order that had allowed abortionists in the state to continue seeing patients.
Texas has had an abortion ban in place that was unenforceable during the 50 years that Roe v. Wade legalized abortion. After the Supreme Court overturned Roe last week, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton warned that “abortion providers could be criminally liable for providing abortions starting today” because of Texas’s “abortion prohibitions predating Roe.”
A Houston judge issued a ruling earlier this week allowing clinics to temporarily resume abortions up to six weeks into pregnancy.

A record low number of U.S. adults report that they are “extremely proud to be American,” despite President Joe Biden’s promise to “restore the soul and to secure the future of America.”
Thirty-eight percent say they are “extremely proud” to be an American, which is the lowest percentage since Gallup began tracking the trend in 2001. Still, 65 percent of adults polled say they are either “extremely” or “very” proud of the nation — 27 percent are “very proud,” and 22 percent are “moderately proud.” Nine percent are “only a little,” and 4 percent are “not at all proud.” “This record-low level of extreme national pride comes at a challenging time

The warning signs are all over the place that a second Joe Biden presidential run could spell disaster for the Democrats — not to mention the rest of the country. Polls have shown time and time again that Americans aren’t happy with what he’s doing to the country. It may be worse than anybody thought. A new Harvard CAPS-Harris poll came out Friday with blisteringly bad numbers for the Biden administration. The biggest takeaway from this poll is that a whopping 71% of those surveyed don’t want Joe Biden to make a second run at the Oval Office. Interestingly enough, 61%

President Joe Biden on Friday again expressed his outrage at the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and pleaded for Americans to elect more Democrats in November.
“I share the public’s outrage at this extremist court,” Biden said, describing the Supreme Court’s ruling last week as a “tragic” and a “terrible, extreme decision.”The president held a video conference call with Democrat governors to discuss the importance of preserving the “right” for women to abort their unborn children. In the past week, Biden has been under fire from leftist Democrats and pro-abortion activists who are displeased by his lack of fervor on the issue.

The Biden administration published its long-awaited five-year offshore oil and gas leasing plan Friday one day after missing its June deadline.
The Department of the Interior (DOI) plan included the possibility of the federal government holding up to 11 lease sales off the coast of Alaska and in the Gulf of Mexico over the five-year period between 2023-2028. However, the plan also put forward the option of the federal government holding no lease sales in that same time period.
"From Day One, President Biden and I have made clear our commitment to transition to a clean energy economy," Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said in a statement. "Today, we put forward an opportunity

Then-President Donald Trump angrily demanded to go to the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, and berated his protective detail when he didn't get his way, according to two Secret Service sources who say they heard about the incident from multiple agents, including the driver of the presidential SUV where it occurred.
The sources tell CNN that stories circulated about the incident -- including details that are similar to how former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson described it to the House select committee investigating January 6 -- in the months immediately afterward the US Capitol attack and before she testified this week.
While the details from those who heard the accounts

Inflation is mostly to blame for Biden’s catastrophic approval rating, of course. But I think what Axelrod describes here is an underrated reason for flagging left-wing support. It’s not (just) that his policies aren’t progressive enough.
It’s the sense that he doesn’t “fight,” to borrow a term from righty populists. And when he does make a gesture towards fighting, like when he endorsed creating an exception to the filibuster for abortion rights, he’s destined to end up losing that fight.
It doesn’t help either that he’s 79 years old. Watch two minutes of Axelrod here, which picks up with him discussing Biden’s call for a filibuster carve-out.
