There was a time, long ago, when actor Alec Baldwin was actually entertaining. His performance as a main character in the classic 1988 comedy Beetlejuice was solid, though Michael Keaton stole the show in that film. And Baldwin was adequate in the movies Hunt for Red October in 1990 and Glengarry Glen Ross in 1992. He was even decent in the terrific drama The Departed in 2006. Indeed, Baldwin had been blessed with good looks and enough talent to make himself a wealthy man with a robust career. Poor Alec is very concerned that the shooting incident could end his acting career. I guess no one cares about him enough to tell him that that already happened about 20 years ago.

If being a jerk were illegal and truly punishable in a condign sense, Alex* Baldwin would be dangling as at the end of Huxley's Brave New World. *He hates being called Alex. My best friend, on a six-star Crystal Cruise with Baldwin, watched the actor at work at the blackjack table. When Baldwin started splitting pairs of 10s and doing other stuff that no one with a background in mathematics would ever do, my friend started tittering. "Aw, Alex!" he said out loud. Baldwin said, "It's Alec!" After Baldwin made another illogical move, me friend burst out in guffaws, really irritating Baldwin, and calling him "Alex" again. That happened two more times before Alex, very red in the face, disappeared, neglecting to tip the dealer. Typical class from a typical ass. My friend also ate dinner with O.J. Simpson (late '90, after the trial) and survived. He said that OJ was a nice guy but no one at the table wanted to joke with him. He might get the wrong idea, you know. And he was eating a steak at the time. You don't cut a New York strip with a fork.

He was a "Movie Guy" abhorred TV, thought it was for "Lesser" actors. After the daughter bashing incident his "career" was essentially over, no one would touch him. THEN SNL let him put on a blonde wig and do truly awful Trump imitations..."I'm baaaaack!" Glenngary was the role of a lifetime, because he didn't "Act" he just played himself. Total, self important, abusive, elitist azz. In '96 the DNC advertised their Convention with "There will be BALDWINS!"

All I can say is thank God Harrison Ford took over the role of Jack Ryan in the latter Tom Clancy movies. Yes back in the day when I liked Hollywood and going to the movies Baldwin was one of my favorite actors. He did do a good job in Beetlejuice, The Hunt For Red October and Mercury Rising. Slowly though I started to find out that he's just another angry entitled actor who hates Conservatives and Republicans. Stories about him attacking fans and cameramen are legend. Hannity used to play Baldwin's very brief foray into talk radio when they had their feud years ago. Poor Alec was horrible. Also when he called his now grown daughter a rude little pig when she wouldn't talk to him on the phone. Now with his shooting two people killing one on a movie set he will continue to make an ass of himself until he retires. In either case I haven't watched anything he's been in including that game show he hosted that thankfully got cancelled.

CNN contributor and Republican consultant Scott Jennings predicts that former President Donald Trump will announce an early Presidential bid to prevent Florida Governor Ron DeSantis from running in 2024. Jennings observed that given DeSantis’ popularity, specifically with conservatives across the country, he is a Trump-like figure without the baggage. Jennings said: “I definitely think there are a lot of Republicans out there who voted for Donald Trump twice, maybe gave him money, wanted to see him succeed who know we cannot drag the country and the party through this again in 2024, that he’s the least likely Republican to have a chance to win the White House …

Millions of children around the world grow up fatherless, and in America this phenomenon can be cited as a significant factor in the deterioration of both our culture and our society. Fatherhood, and more importantly fathers themselves, are critical. For those of us who were fortunate to have had a father who helped raise us, most can point to multiple instances of friction and conflict over the years. Fathers, like all human beings, are imperfect and the relationships they have with their children can be complex. Yet in most cases, particularly when the father is nearing the end of his life, bygones are put aside,

The underground reservoirs, believed to be the world’s largest, were intended as an emergency oil-savings account for an actual energy crisis threatening national security. The SPR was not intended for a political crisis when Joe Biden’s Democrats face midterm election annihilation over inflation and outrageous gasoline prices above $6 a gallon caused by the same president’s ideological war on fossil fuels. The man who masterminded both successful presidential campaigns for former President Obama, strategist David Axelrod, has harsh words for the current Commander-in-Chief saying, “There is this sense that things are kind of out of control and he’s not in command.” Appearing on CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper” Thursday, he added, “so, you know, this is a very, very fraught environment for him right now.” The first question that pops into my mind is, does this have Obama’s blessing? It’s hard to imagine that Axelrod, now a CNN commentator, would criticize the Democratic Party’s standard-bearer without running it first by his former boss.

There are certain voting blocs on which the two major political parties rely heavily. For Republicans, it’s not only critical that they have the support of Evangelical Christians and non-college-educated white men, but they also need them to be energized and head to the polls. Similarly, the Democrats count on black and Hispanic Americans along with college-educated white women, and failure to secure strong majorities in those demographics can destroy their chances. But then there are the battleground demographics which are often in battleground states. While Democrats have already seen a devasting and consistent downward trend with Hispanics – one of those aforementioned key constituencies which are currently showing even less
