The Senate on Tuesday broke through nearly 30 years of stalemate on gun control legislation by voting 64 to 34 to advance an 80-page gun safety bill
The Senate voted to proceed to the bill just more than an hour after negotiators unveiled its text, giving lawmakers little time to digest its details.
The Daily Wire lists exactly what the bill would do, including provisions to grant the federal government the ability to deny you weapons based on “red flags” it defines.
(Hint: Believing in the Constitution is a “red flag”)
Notably, the 80-page legislation includes language on highly controversial so-called red flag laws.

If you disagree, call your representative, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, ...
There is no difference between Democrats and Republicans once they get sworn into office. A pox on them all.

I’m at a total loss as to why any Republican, even those as unreliable as Cornyn, Graham, and the rest, would think stabbing GOP voters in the back is a good strategy headed into November. Do they want to lose? Actually, assuming they do might be the safest best at this point. What else could explain such political idiocy?

64 senators, 14 of them republicans , all of them sell outs. The oath they took to support and defend our Constitution was said without conviction. They lied.

#2 Many are retiring. They will not be running. No risk.

If Fightin' Roy Blunt is in favor of turning the USA into a soviet socialist republic - - then I'm all for it!
Gee - - we're going to really miss Fightin' Roy.

The GOP sellouts do it for praise from the media and invitations to all the Sunday morning talk shows. It's an ego trip for them to pander to the liberals in their district and sells during their election campaigns. Their allegiance is to themselves and not their constituents and the Constitution. Crooked sellouts the lot of them.

I am so upset that Joni Ernst was one of the jerks. (yes I had a different work, but couldn't post with it in there )

John Cornyn shouldn't be able to set foot outside his home without facing throngs of GOP voters asking him why he is selling them out to the Democratic Party. The problem with Republicans like Cornyn is that they simply do not fear their constituents' anger and they should.

GOP voters should take a page out of Democrats' book and organize protests that simply follow Cornyn around. Republicans are so used to getting away with murder that it would shock and horrify Cornyn. Getting booed at the Texas GOP convention certainly got under his skin.

All of these RINOS took an oath to preserve and protect the Constitution, I wonder if they have even read it. "The right of the people to keep and bear arms Shall not be infringed."

How 'bout enforcing EXISTING gun laws instead?

Go ahead and pass the unconstitutional bill. The 2A still stands as the law of the land. Until you amend the 2A, any gun legislation is mute.

It is our "stuck on stupid" fault. We need -- not a third party-- a true second party. They do this year after year and we let them get away with it. They will get away with this one. And the next.
They are what they are. The shame is on us for being their suckers.

I regret voting for Bill Cassidy on November 3rd, 2020. He has been betraying Conservatives and Republicans in Louisiana since November 4th, 2020. Now we have to wait until 2026 to jettison him.

Some of these are retiring and several of them have just been reelected and are untouchable for six years. All are traitors to the constitution and their constituents. Scornyn for one, is wholly owned by the National Chamber of Commerce. They are getting huge amounts of money for breaking their oaths of office and destroying the country.
We know they are scum. They know they are scum. EVERYBODY knows they are scum. They don't care - they get paid.

We have to remember #2, these same RINOS have betrayed us before and they always got re-elected, didn’t they? It is on us that we allowed them to be held unaccountable all this time. Now they betray us on the two most dire issues guns and immigration as they exit for a wealthy future retirement.

Cornyn says he doesn't bow to the mob. Well, he's bowing to someone, other than his constituents. A falsehearted sell-out.
Dems are ideologues, True Believers, some more ardent than others, but they bend and bow under the iron-fisted leader. And they seem pretty darned comfortable under that fist.
Those Repubs who are true to the Constitution are few, sad to say. Apparently, the rest are opportunists, really even more despicable in some ways than the Ideologues. Opportunists are the whores whose price is negotiable.
But, call them anyway. Call the faithful ones, too. Call the faithless ones, and tell them that. Faithless to the Constitution to which they SWEAR and Oath to protect and defend, faithless to the People who put their trust in them to keep their word.

You cannot make men good by law: and without good men you cannot have a good society.
--C. S. Lewis
America present an outstanding example of 'without good men leadership', particularly in politics, government, education, business.

None of this makes any sense from any angle, and now is the time for voters to push back. Call your elected officials, speak out, and let your voice be heard. These kinds of capitulations are going to have profoundly negative impacts in the future. They must not go unchallenged.
