NPR visits a swing district -- and much
to its surprise, learns that voters don't

Someone at NPR came up with the idea of finding out what voters are thinking in the swing districts, now that the Democrats' Jan. 6 spectacular, starring Liz Cheney, is in full throttle. Oops. To say the least, the prim Victorian-gentlemen leftists at that award-laden outfit were in for a surprise: Kimberly Berryman lives in the countryside outside Fredericksburg, Va., but drives 20 miles to the suburbs to do her shopping. She keeps a cooler in the trunk to keep her corn cold as she travels from store to store, trying to find the best deals on groceries.

I would suggest Fredericksburg VA is well within the orbit of Wash Dc, and if the people there see the Economic money grab isn't working, the Dems where I live in Ohio are really going to be in rough shape. And the Elites don't see it! But we can't let up. They'll steal it if they can!

#1 would have been wrong 20 years ago, but is dead right now. The infection from DC has moved way down the I-95 corridor, and enveloped the formerly small, pleasant city of Fredricksburg and made it a overblown mess. So much of that beautiful rural Virginia countryside now infested with DC government workers, a huge portion are hard core leftists. They are subsuming the normal, sane Virginians who used to live there.

Wait until the recession hits when they announce the next qtr. growth at - .5% that will be two straight quarters of negative growth. Why anybody would even consider voting D'Rat in the next election is befuddling. what have the D'Rats done in the last 2 year that was good for the country? Name one darn thing!!!

This is a re-drawn district that just voted +6 for Youngkin. There's a good chance Spanberger gets ousted. Just returned from voting for Yesli, but would also be happy with Anderson or a couple others. For me and Mrs. Coach, it came down to female Republicans just seem to have more cajones than the men.

Brace Yourself for the Biden Housing Bust 16 replies
Posted by Garnet 7/6/2022 2:20:02 AM Post Reply
For many readers, the above title will conjure up memories of the 2008 housing crash caused by the proliferation of subprime mortgages and the subsequent tsunami of defaults. But a better corollary for the coming Biden bust is the Carter crash that occurred three decades earlier. During the final two years of Carter’s term, sales of existing and new homes collapsed because the Fed was forced to raise interest rates sharply to get double-digit inflation under control. This, in turn, produced double-digit mortgage rates that priced millions of potential buyers out of the market.

As it happens I was just in the National Gallery in London last Friday perusing paintings by Turner, Monet and Vincent van Gogh. Monday, a pair of anti-fossil fuel campaigners entered the museum, covered a painting by John Constable with an image they’d made themselves and then glued their hands to the frame of the painting. Here’s what Constable’s ‘The Hay Wain’ looks like.(Snip)And here’s video of the protesters after it was covered with their own dystopian version of the image. I haven’t seen any explanation for why the staff who are present in nearly every room of the National Gallery stood by and allowed this.

Amid the nationwide crime crisis that has arisen out of woke Democrat policies and the so-called "progressive prosecutor" movement, Philadelphia has been especially hard-hit — and its mayor is apparently tired of leading and looking forward to being out of office after overseeing the city's record-setting crime spike. On Independence Day, two law enforcement officers were hit with gunfire at Philly's July Fourth festivities from an unknown suspect or suspects — authorities are still trying to identify those responsible and determine their motive. Thankfully, both officers were discharged after being treated for their wounds.

This term of the Supreme Court has been a big one for based decisions and here’s another big one. The Supreme Court sharply curtailed the power of the EPA to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions that cause climate change. House Democrats ginned up another round of blockbuster anticipation Monday night when the Select Committee on Jan. 6 announced a last-minute hearing with a surprise witness. On Tuesday, the nine-member panel brought forward a key aide to former Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Cassidy Hutchinson, who supposedly possessed intimate knowledge of the administration’s conduct on Jan. 6. The topic of the afternoon hearing remained under seal until Hutchinson took the stand to offer new bombshell evidence allegedly incriminating the former Republican president.

Progressives like nothing better than to lecture conservatives on racism, insisting that we revel in white privilege and vote Republican due to a deeply held aversion to people of color. They have, of course, absolved themselves of all sins racial by claiming to be “woke.” But the mendacity of that pose has been laid bare by the barrage of openly racist attacks on Clarence Thomas pursuant to last week’s Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Justice Samuel Alito authored the ruling, and it was supported by a majority of the Court, but progressive rage has focused on Thomas.

A festering rot of racial animosity exists in our society that we willfully ignore socially and politically. It is a rot that eats away at the flesh of our civil society and spoils the greatness of our multicultural nation. Progressives continually tell us we have blinders on when it comes to racism in American society. They’ve shoved their ideological solution of anti-racism to force us to “deconstruct” what they believe is an inherently deep-seated racist nation. I, as a black American, am supposed to rejoice in the presence of our self-appointed saviors, but I peeked behind the veil and saw who they really are.

The Democrats reacted with predictable hysteria last Friday when the Supreme Court handed down its decision overturning Roe v. Wade. We have since been deafened by shrill denunciations of the “MAGA Court,” “extremist justices” and all things Republican. Adding to the din President Biden brayed, “This decision is the culmination of a deliberate effort over decades to upset the balance of our law.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi declared, “Make no mistake: reproductive freedom is on the ballot in November.” It is hardly a given, however, that this will save the Democrats in the fall.

In March 2021, President Biden spent an afternoon with a group of academic historians. They had assembled to advise the President on how his presidency might be shaped to be considered “historic.” Press reports hinted that the President’s staff saw an opportunity to nudge their boss into adopting an ambitious domestic agenda by crafting an image of Biden consulting history as a guide. The historians were gathered at the President’s request by Jon Meacham, the author of Biden’s favorite history, The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels. The Justice Department has filed suit against Arizona challenging its recently enacted voting law that requires proof of citizenship in order to vote in presidential elections. The lawsuit contends that certain restrictions in Arizona's House Bill 2492 directly violate Section 6 of the National Voter Registration Act and Section 101 of the Civil Rights Act. The Supreme Court previously rejected an effort by Arizona in 2013 to require its residents to provide proof of citizenship in order to participate in federal elections, though after President Joe Biden's victory against Donald Trump in 2020 the state quickly sought to implement a similar mandate in passing House Bill 2492.
