Kellogg is spinning off its cereal business

New York—Kellogg is splitting into three different companies in a major shakeup for the 116-year-old company. The first company will include Kellogg's (K) North America cereal unit, which includes Raisin Bran and Rice Krispies, its snacking unit will become a second company, including Cheez-Its and Pringles. And, lastly, a new "pure-play plant-based foods company" will be anchored by its MorningStar Farms brand. New names for the spin-offs will be announced later, and the spinoffs are expected to be completed by the end of 2023. The board of directors has approved the plans and headquarters for the three units will remain unchanged.

Comments:

They can break into as many companies as they like; this household many years ago stopped buying anything they make over some liberal transgression or another.

This is always a sign of poor management. Stockholders should sell, and move on from this company.

How about "Bug Budget Foods". It's what they want anyway. Gummy worms with real worms. Flavored cricket tarts much in the guise of Pop Tarts. Yummy. And extra crunchie cockroach chips. Cheese, plain and kettle corn style. Good stuff ahead. All green, all government approved, so perfect for the serfs.

Oops. U.S. Steel, back in the 1980s, changed its name to USX, telling everyone that it was going to diversify. And recently, General Electric sold its profitable Transportation/Locomotive division, headquartered here in Erie, Pa, to Westinghouse Air Brake (WAB) for no particular reason. And who could forget Coca Cola, changing its formula in the 1980s, to create New Coke!

The Long Island library that decided to tear down Pride displays and remove books from children’s sections reversed its decision at an emergency meeting Thursday night. The Smithtown Library board of trustees voted 4-2 to rescind its controversial Tuesday night decision. One of the seven trustees abstained. The initial decision prompted a massive response from advocates and a strong statement from the governor, leading to the emergency meeting. On Tuesday, the board voted 4-2 in favor of a “motion to remove all Pride Displays, in addition to removing all books of the same subject on display, from all Children’s sections in all Smithtown Library buildings.”

The Biden administration on Tuesday proposed changes to the federal civil-rights statute banning sex discrimination in federally funded education programs, including expanding protections to sexual orientation and gender identity. One proposed change “would make clear that preventing any person from participating in an education program or activity consistent with their gender identity would subject them to more than de minimis harm on the basis of sex and therefore be prohibited, unless otherwise permitted by Title IX or the regulations.” If adopted, the rule change would bar universities and any other federally funded institutions from maintaining men’s and women’s sports and sex-segregated spaces like locker rooms and dormitories.
