President Joe Biden popped into the press cabin during an Air Force One flight Wednesday afternoon, surprising reporters with an off-the-record appearance.
But the president spent most of his time complaining about their negative coverage of his administration, according to Politicoâs West Wing Playbook, citing âmultiple people familiarâ with the meeting.
Biden spoke with reporters on his way to California for the Summit of the Americas, even as some of the leaders of prominent Latin American countries refused to attend.
The establishment media has grown more skeptical of Bidenâs efforts to help reduce inflation, lower gas prices, and solve the baby formula shortage that has plagued his administration.

The man who traveled to Maryland to try to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh has been identified as Nicholas John Roske, from Simi Valley, California. He apparently made it to Justice Kavanaughâs house before being apprehended:
Nicholas John Roske, 26, of Simi Valley, Calif., was charged with attempted murder after two U.S. deputy marshals saw him step out of a taxicab in front of the justiceâs house in Chevy Chase, Md., early Wednesday morning, federal prosecutors said. Mr. Roske was dressed in black and carrying a suitcase and a backpack, according to a federal affidavit.
Inside the suitcase and backpack, the authorities later discovered a âblack tactical chest rig and tactical knife,â

On Wednesday, as part of a slate of bills aimed at curbing mass shootings and gun violence, the House voted to increase the age required to purchase a semi-automatic rifle from 18 to 21.
The vote was 228 to 199, with ten Republicans joining Democrats in supporting the measure. Those GOP members were Representatives Fitzpatrick, Gonzalez, Jacobs, Katko, Kinzinger, Malliotakis, Salazar, Smith, Turner, and Upton.
After an 18-year-old gunman used an AR-15-style weapon to massacre 19 children and two teachers in a fourth-grade elementary-school classroom in Uvalde, Texas, in May, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have been moving with urgency

The Department of Homeland Securityâs ill-fated disinformation board would have been part of an effort to work with private social-media platforms to police their content, two senators revealed Wednesday, citing new documents provided to them by a whistleblower.
The documents described the issues that led DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to want to create the board. Among them were such heated topics as debates over the coronavirus pandemic and efficacy of vaccines, and what Homeland Security described as âconspiracy theories about the validity and security of elections.â
The documents also suggested the board would play the role of policy cop at Homeland Security,

Whenever I look at a poll regarding Joe Biden, I keep saying he has to hit a bottom â that he canât just keep going lower, can he? Of course, he keeps doing things to deserve going lower, so yes, the polls keep getting worse and worse for him. Heâs already lower than all modern presidents who held the office.
In the last poll, I covered the ABC/Ipsos poll, he was hitting now, in the high 20s, approval on inflation and gas prices, and over 70 percent disapproval. Itâs hard to get much worse than that. That was similar to the poll covered on CNN a few days

Update 6/8/2022 3:00 p.m. Eastern: Three hours after first trying to claim the attempted assassin of Justice Brett Kavanaugh didn't have a weapon "at all," CNN's Whitney Wild finally admitted on-air that the man had a gun, a knife, and other gear to carry out the killing. More below. After taking over an hour to get to the major breaking story of the day Wednesday â the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh at his home earlier that morning â CNNâs At This Hour tried to downplay the incident by suggesting the man wasnât armed âat allâ and tried to claim there were threats from âboth sidesâ of the political

Despite out-of-control inflation, record gas prices, baby formula shortages, record illegal immigration at the southern border, and a newly emboldened Russia and China, Hollywood star Robert De Niro has nothing but praise for President Joe Biden (D), saying he sleeps better at night knowing Biden is in charge.
Robert De Niro spoke about President Biden during an appearance Tuesday on CBSâ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. During their conversation, Colbert asked De Niro if he sleeps better knowing that Joe Biden is occupying the White House.
âYes,â De Niro replied, provoking enthusiastic applause from the audience. âHe got us into calm waters, that was always the idea. Heâs doing a very good job.

Pessimism about the U.S. economy is at its highest level in 50 years amid decades-high inflation rates and rising interest rates.
Roughly 83% of respondents said the state of the economy was poor or not so good, according to a new poll from the Wall Street Journal and NORC at the University of Chicago. Thatâs the highest dissatisfaction level since NORCâone of the largest independent research organizations in the U.S.âbegan conducting the poll in 1972.
In addition, more than a third of respondents said they are not satisfied at all with their financial situation. Forty-six percent said they have no chance at improving their standard of living this year

It hasnât been an easy week for the Washington Post, the disgraced paper was in the news for the wrong reason on three separate occasions.
Let's start with the first occasion:
Back in 2018, the WaPo published an article by actress Amber Heard where she claimed to be a victim of sexual violence and domestic abuse. The implication was that her then-husband actor Johnny Depp was the perpetrator.
Any responsible news organization would have confirmed with Depp about the allegations prior to publication. The WaPo did no such thing, they published Heardâs version.

Pro-abortion terrorists firebombed a pro-life Christian pregnancy center in Buffalo, N.Y. on Tuesday, inflicting significant damage on the building and vandalizing the remains with their organizationâs name.
Pro-abortion group Janeâs Revenge, which has developed a reputation for resorting to violence, claimed responsibility for the attack, which left glass shattered and much of the interior of the CompassCare office burned and destroyed, CBN News reported. The arsonists left graffiti on a wall that read, âJane Was Here.â The organization has committed multiple such incidents in the last few months, including one in which it firebombed the headquarters of Wisconsin Family Action (WFA), a pro-life group in Madison, Wis. last month

Iâve been through these situations before where the story being put forward in public does not make sense and yet everyone seems eager to just move on. If you were around more than a decade ago when a congressman named Anthony Weiner claimed his Twitter account had been hacked you may know what I mean. If you missed that, his story fell apart but he still wound up running for mayor of NYC sometime later before the whole mess surfaced again and he wound up in prison.
I had the same queasy feeling a few years ago when Joy Reid claimed that hackers had added anti-gay commentary to her personal blog.
