Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow said that gas prices 'don't matter' personally to her because she has an electric vehicle as she urged the country to move toward this mode of transportation to decrease reliability on greedy oil companies. 'On the issue of gas prices–after waiting for a long time to have enough chips in this country to finally get my electric vehicle–I got it and drove it from Michigan to here this last weekend and went by every gas station and it didn't matter how high it was,' the Michigan senator said during a hearing on President Joe Biden's budget proposal.(Snip)United States senators make an annual salary

I would say it matters to rural michiganers that cant afford to hook up their trailer and boat for a weekend camping and fishing. Thats is their life that these commies have put on hold.

From the article - "Michigan's average household income is $59,234 between 2016-2020 – just a few thousand over the typical cost of an EV, according to the U.S. Census Bureau."
Nancy "Puke" Pelosi and her "alleged" DUI husband have a $24K refrigerator. Probably filled with Grey Poupon Ice Cream.

"Let them drive EVs" is the modern day equivalent of "Let them eat cake." And we all know what happened to Marie Antoinette.

Michigan to DC is 400+ miles, way more than the range of electric vehicles, unless it's a hybrid which does use gas. Either way how about the poor people that can't afford an electric vehicle? I thought the D'Rats were the party of the working class? Liar & a hypocrite.

She drove from Michigan to DC ( I doubt it ) but anyway, how often did she stop to recharge and how long did it take to recharge? AND how does she think electrical energy is produced?

Debbie, your vehicle is entirely made by energy generated by the oil, gas, and coal industries. In fact, the world economy cannot sustain itself without the oil, gas, and coal industries. The industrial revolution was built on these industries and their abilities to produce steel for machinery, plastics, and chemicals. The best steward of industry is the invisible hand, which is the intelligence and efforts of individuals pursuing their self interests.

Wait til we have brownouts this simmer and she cannot get a full charge. Hope she gets stranded and no on comes to help her. She can then WALK past all the gas powered vehicles that are merrily on their way getting to their destination.

Ya...she gets a $7500 Tax credit/Subsidy, funded by people that buy Gas...their fuel taxes also pay for the roads she drives on.
that is over 1500 gallons of gas, around 100 tanks full, paid by SOMEONE...else.

After Hurricane Ida last year hit us here in Louisiana, I thanked God for fossil fuels. They fueled emergency vehicles, hospitals, police cars, my home generator for a week, the electric companies repair trucks (this included all of those that came from out of state), delivery trucks, chain saws, etc..

Detroit to DC is about 550 miles. I could easily drive that in 1/2 day in my gas-powered crossover vehicle.
That means she took at least 2 days to drive that distance, considering a Tesla is lucky to get 350 miles on a charge, and then it will take about 8+ hours to fully charge it again for the rest of the trip -- if you are lucky enough to be in a place with the faster real Tesla chargers.
My time is worth money. And sitting in Pittsburgh for 8+ hours of charging (instead of 10 minutes to fill up at a gas station) so I can get back on the road is a huge waste of my time and money!!!

I'm glad that Do Nothing Debbie can afford an EV. Most of can't and will not be able to due to the rising costs of everything and general uncertainty in the economy. Stabenow's attitude is the same as most Democrats: I've got mine so SCREW YOU!

#28 and #29 have the right idea. You can't take a trip in one of these glorified golf carts. These things won't fly. They're boutique transportation, good only for short local jaunts on the ground. When the population wakes up to the impracticality of e-transportation (and the lack of necessary electrical generation to power them up), even Elon Musk might be in financial trouble. Think carefully. Why electric vehicles? Why? For what? Stop whackin off.
