The man who traveled to Maryland to try to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh has been identified as Nicholas John Roske, from Simi Valley, California. He apparently made it to Justice Kavanaugh’s house before being apprehended: Nicholas John Roske, 26, of Simi Valley, Calif., was charged with attempted murder after two U.S. deputy marshals saw him step out of a taxicab in front of the justice’s house in Chevy Chase, Md., early Wednesday morning, federal prosecutors said. Mr. Roske was dressed in black and carrying a suitcase and a backpack, according to a federal affidavit. Inside the suitcase and backpack, the authorities later discovered a “black tactical chest rig and tactical knife,”

Details of the 911 calls made by the man

Yesterday we learned that the suspect in the attempted murder of Justice Kavanaugh showed up at his home with bags containing a gun, a knife, pepper spray, zip ties and tools to break into his house. He told investigators he wanted to give his life purpose by killing Kavanaugh (before killing himself). Today, media outlets have gotten hold of the two 911 calls that Roske made shortly after he arrived. He made two calls. The first one was about a minute and ended when he couldn’t tell the dispatcher exactly where he was located. But he called back a moment later, gave an address and spoke

Joe Biden and the Democrats don’t want to have to talk about policies or any of the real issues afflicting the country right now. Because if they did, the focus would be on all their failures. That’s why they want the focus now to be on the Jan. 6 Committee and the show trial that they want to sell you. Not only is it a show trial, it even has a producer, as my colleague Jeff Charles reported, like any TV drama — according to Axios, “James Goldston — former president of ABC News, and a documentary storyteller who ran ‘Good Morning America’ and ‘Nightline’ —

Axios acquired a copy of the letter, which replicates a letter that was originally sent to Congress in 2019. There are some revisions to the message and an increased number of signatories. The push to re-send the letter is the result of a partnership between Levi’s and Mike Bloomberg-affiliated Everytown for Gun Safety. In the letter, CEOs describe gun violence as a “public health crisis,” noting economic impact of gun crime and the human cost of gun crime.

Joe Biden was speaking at the Summit of the Americas on Thursday. As we’ve already noted, it hasn’t been going well. Biden stumbled up the stairs as he was boarding Air Force One for Los Angeles. Then, Biden was met by a protester rushing the motorcade who had to be subdued. Meanwhile, a lot of the countries didn’t show up because of the poor way that the Biden team dealt with the event. While objecting to the human rights violations of Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela is a good thing and we should encourage that, how weak is it if

Let me quote myself from a post published May 8 about the danger of people showing up at the justices’ homes: “[I]n the current political context, a fanatic has more motive to kill one of the Court’s conservatives than just satiating his or her rage. Doing so would provide a strategic benefit to the pro-choice side. Congress should give them all the bodyguards they need, and then some.” When you have reason to believe that five justices have signed onto overturning Roe but the decision hasn’t been handed down yet, that’s an incentive to take one of those votes away by any means necessary. Especially since a Democratic president

Biden spoke with reporters on his way to California for the Summit of the Americas, even as some of the leaders of prominent Latin American countries refused to attend. The establishment media has grown more skeptical of Biden’s efforts to help reduce inflation, lower gas prices, and solve the baby formula shortage that has plagued his administration.

Of course, he keeps doing things to deserve going lower, so yes, the polls keep getting worse and worse for him. He’s already lower than all modern presidents who held the office. In the last poll, I covered the ABC/Ipsos poll, he was hitting now, in the high 20s, approval on inflation and gas prices, and over 70 percent disapproval. It’s hard to get much worse than that. That was similar to the poll covered on CNN a few days

It wasn’t that long ago when the left’s narrative on ‘gay rights’ was simple, straightforward, and easy to support: Let’s all be tolerant of one another, live and let live, and don’t discriminate. Tolerance is, after all, one of the fundamental tenets of the philosophy which drove America’s founding. But as the saying goes, “give someone an inch and they’ll take a mile,” which is the situation in which we find ourselves today. The message of ‘tolerance’ eventually morphed into ‘acceptance.’ At some point late in the Obama Administration, our culture decided that it was inadequate to merely tolerate the shenanigans of the LGBTQ community, we needed to welcome them.

Speculation is rife concerning the possible presidential candidates representing the two major parties as the nation approaches the 2024 elections. Everyone has an opinion, and the pundits are competing in the expertise sweepstakes. What can we say with some degree of plausibility? Biden, who speaks in tongues, is plainly beyond redeeming; the question is whether he will manage to survive the year, let alone stumble, lollop, and whiffle to the end of his first term. More than 1,000 people have been interviewed by the panel, and only snippets of that testimony have been revealed to the public, mostly through court filings.
