It’s a green new day for weed dealers in the Big Apple. Mayor Adams promised Friday to not take a “heavy-handed” approach toward those who sell marijuana illicitly in the city and gave New Yorkers his blessing to smoke more pot. While New York legalized recreational weed use last year, the licensing system that’s supposed to regulate cannabis sales isn’t expected to kick off until late 2022—and Adams said Friday afternoon that he doesn’t see a need for cracking down on anyone caught dealing ganja out of stores or on the street in the interim.(Snip)“Enjoy yourself, light up, but most importantly, spend some money. Great! People are much easier to control and accept radical ideas when they're stoned! ;-)
Problem with that is, if you're stoned, will you remember to vote? Oh that's right, Dominion
will take care of that for you. No need to vote, we got you covered! ;-)

Possessing menthol cigarettes could soon be a crime, but growing and smoking unregulated reefer is smiled upon.

This is what you get with black, Democrat leaders. Anarchy, crime, more drugs, more crime, and a festering open sewer of corruption, and more.
Enjoy the "NEW" NYC. Far nastier and more dangerous than it was under Mayor Rudy. And the good people, the non-criminals, will continue to flee.

Dandy Mayor Dude is said to be eyeing a run for the pResidency. Who says he's joking? FTA: "The Cannabis World Congress and Business event that Adams attended featured dozens of entrepreneurs who showcased marijuana products and held panel talks about the economic potential of the cannabis industry. In a speech at the expo, Adams joked that he was 'a bit disappointed' that there wasn’t 'a nice scent of weed' in the room and encouraged attendants to get high. 'Enjoy yourself, light up, but most importantly, spend some money. We want your money,' he said."

Pot is extremely dangerous! Especially the stuff that everyone is smoking today. It's like the acid trips we took in the early 70's! I have been prescribed pot for pain. Filled prescription and took two hits off the Vape Pen and thought I was tripping! Wow is it strong. I can't smoke something that is going to blow my brains out and then drive or do anything! Many many many people get hooked on pot and end up at Hazelden for treatment! Check out their web site. They are the experts!

Adams was elected by the limousine liberals, his biggest donors, because they have businesses in the city and will continue to live in New York. They need the favors the Mayor will bestow upon them when needed, like zoning permits and the like. Curtis Sliwa, who ran against E-wreck, would have been anathema to these people, but was the guy who would have stopped the crime. Personal and business interests came first. Now we have a despot, almost, running a s-hole African country. It began with DeBlasio and is carried on by E-wreck. The marijuana money that he hopes will come in will go to pay off the public unions, who also support Democrats. This ensures that the garbage will be collected in a timely fashion, and who do you think is involved in “sanitation” taking their cut? E-wreck can make all the noise he wants about crime, but to be fair, much of NYC's problems can be found in Albany where you have the wackos who gave the State bail reform. It’s Sodom and Gomorrah on the Hudson!

What a conundrum! I watch To Catch A Smuggler and sometimes people trying to come into this country or return here from another country get a little surprise when MJ is found on them or in their luggage. Federal laws do not permit MJ use and they get carted away to do jail time. They are always so surprised because 'it is legal in states.'

I believe in hanging for injustice, the Mayor considered to be one of those perpetrators that should be tried and justice dispensed.

The Uvalde shooter was a heavy marijuana user... there have been many many studies linking usage with violence. The 60's laid back, peace, man! myth has been falsely promulgated by the left forever. Is there nothing they don't touch that doesn't turn to excrement?

Re #15, a millenial friend who says he smoked a good bit of marijuana as a younger man, tells me that the current hybridized weed is about 20 to 30 times as potent as the weed from when I was in college in the late 60s to early 70s. He says it is probably 5 to 10 times as potent (quantity of THC per oz) as it was when he smoked, fifteen years ago or so. He actually says he doesn't think the current stuff is safe, and he's "pro marijuana" generally.

He feels the same way about assault, arson, burglary, robbery and murder... Just afraid to say that part out loud... yet.
Pretty soon any halfway decent folks who still live in New York City or stray into it accidentally are going to need a "Snake Plissken" to help them escape.

I guess those weed smokers will not have to wear masks like small children. Good grief, get rid of this dumber than a brick mayor. What Blasio forgot to tear down this jerk will succeed in wrecking.
