dealing blow to Trump

University of Nebraska Regent Jim Pillen was projected to win Nebraska’s Republican gubernatorial primary on Tuesday, dealing a high-profile loss to former President Trump, who aggressively backed one of his rivals. The Associated Press called the race at 11:23 p.m. ET. Pillen came out ahead of eight other candidates running to replace Gov. Pete Ricketts (R). The race was seen as the latest test for Trump, who had endorsed businessman Charles Herbster in the primary. Herbster is facing sexual misconduct allegations from eight women, including from state Sen. Julie Slama (R) and Elizabeth Todsen, who previously worked for state Sen. Dave Murman (R).

The Hill makes a big deal about this election "dealing a blow to Trump" but doesn't acknowledge just how successful Trump has been in backing candidates that he personally has endorsed.

this is something our President always mentions at the rally's - " ... dealing a high-profile loss to former President Trump, who aggressively backed one of his rivals. ... " when he talks about "the" election and its aftermath but with our President there is never a loss but only a pause - he is our greatest example of never give up and never give in

I saw Herbster at the Trump rally and I can see why he lost. He is a black man, and a bible-waving evangelistic pastor, and not that I am saying anything critical or negative, but others might be put off. Add that to his sexual misconduct allegations and it seems he might have a problem in his underwear. I am sure Pillen will win in the end.

Poster #8, I don't know who you saw at the rally but it wasn't Mr. Herbster. Mr. Herbster is a White man who owns a cattle ranch and has several businesses dealing with agriculture. And in April of 2022 he was accused of sexual harassment, kind of suspicious these would come just before the election.

These days, sexual harassment is more in the brain of the accuser rather than what is real. Mr. Herbster most likely touched the brim of his cowboy hat and said “Howdy! Good day to you, ladies.” to a couple of Vassar grads with purple hair and pierced lips.

The establishment has found an Achilles heel for conservative elections. Conservatives will fall for any accusations that are immoral without waiting for proof. Conservatives think MAGA candidates should never do anything that would ever allow any accusations to be made, but what if they are fake? Russia Russia Russia Ukraine Ukraine Ukraine? Did you dump Trump after those were made? Hell no! Stick with the endorsement it’s the best we have.

The accusations of sexual misconduct were a hit job straight from Governor Ricketts. The fix was in on Pillen from the very start. He never campaigned, nor debated. He was behind for quite awhile during vote counting and then suddenly pulls it out it the end. Sound familiar? In addition, our SOS who repeatedly denied any vote fraud in NE was just re-elected. This is the gargantuan black hole that lives at the centre of our galaxy, pictured for the very first time. Known as Sagittarius A*, the object is a staggering four million times the mass of our Sun. What you see is a central dark region where the hole resides, circled by the light coming from super-heated gas accelerated by immense gravitational forces. For scale, the ring is roughly the size of Mercury's orbit around our star. That's about 60 million km, or 40 million miles, across. Fortunately, this monster is a long, long way away - some 26,000 light-years in the distance - so there's no possibility of us ever coming to any danger.

Howard Lake, Minn. — More wet weather is making it hard for farmers across the state to start planting their crops. Some of them say they're at least 10 days behind. "I'm hoping we can dodge the rain events for the next couple days," said longtime farmer Brad Dehn. "If we get upwards of an inch, inch and a half, we could be delayed another week." He says a cool and wet April, coupled with recent storms, means he can't plant corn or soybeans yet on his 2,400 acres of fields outside of Buffalo in Wright County. "I’m a little bit nervous about what could happen," said Dehn.

Joe Biden tried to lay the blame on his never-ending list of failures on Republicans when he delivered that really weird speech about inflation on Tuesday. He blamed everyone but himself and his inept policies, as is his habit. The Wall Street Journal labeled him “President Constanza”. The speech was that bad. One person singled out as the boogeyman standing in the way of Democrats was Senator Rick Scott from Florida. Scott has been reaping the rewards of Biden’s attack ever since that speech. Scott was interviewed on several shows on Fox News Channel yesterday. Each interview was a chance to rebut Biden’s speech and he took advantage of that.

Let it be known that the politicians of the Democrat Party in Washington are either evil or cowardly with the exception of one. Reports say that Democrats had brought Roe v Wade to the floor in order to codify it into law. The goal was to legalize abortion nationwide up until birth with what would be no limits. As you can imagine, every single Republican voted against this and they were joined by none other than West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin who had indicated that he’d vote against it earlier in the day. This resulted in Democrats being 11 votes shy of what they needed to pass Roe into law.
