DeSantis notches legal win in battle over
law revoking Disney's special tax district

A federal judge on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit challenging Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' law dissolving Disney World's Reedy Creek Improvement District, rejecting the claims of a Miami lawyer running for U.S. Senate as a Democrat. In the complaint, three residents of Orange and Osceola counties claimed that S.B. 4-C, the law that eliminates Disney's ability to operate an independent governmental entity around its Orlando-area theme parks, unconstitutionally threatens residents with higher taxes, abridges free speech rights, and violates a contractual obligation, the Orlando Sentinel reported. William Sanchez, a Miami lawyer and Democratic Senate candidate, filed the lawsuit last week.

Disney is not going to back down. The company has stiffened its spine and announced it has decided to add transgender characters in their new Marvel series movies. This decision is a real win for DeSantis and the State of Florida. Let Disney live with the consequences of embracing an anti-child agenda. Reasonable people understand that children do not want them to be exposed to sex of any kind at school. Parents are stepping up and saying, enough. These are my children and you will not groom them for your perverted pleasure. Disney has made one of the most boneheaded decisions a company has ever made when they opted to choose debauchery over normality. I believe Disney has decided they can wait out the outrage of parents and they will come back. I hope and pray that is not so. Disney deserves the financial pain. They betrayed the very people who were the driving force behind their brand. What an utterly stupid business decision. Ticking off the vast majority of your customers to cater to a tiny minority is financially irresponsible. Disney is as off limits to this household as was Hustler. They are heading for the same perverted destination just on different paths. In fact, Disney may be worse because they betrayed the trust of children. Own it, Disney. You built that.

Disney was doomed the minute they put liberal Left Coasters in charge of the company. Most all their animation and park design creative types are LGBT whatever and they did not want to be moved to their new 2000 person Florida operation. They used the parental law as an opening to fight DeSantis and delay or stop the HQ move. They don’t want to live in deep red Florida and give up their liberal lifestyles. Either way Disney has doomed themselves.

The Democrat lawyer plaintiff knew, or should have known, that all of his claims failed to state any cause of action. It's a win for Ron DeSantis (which is good), but it's not a big win when a tiger defeats a deer. This case may be the first of many desperate attempts to assist Disney.

This little snit by Disney can't go on for much longer. Disney must sell its parks in Florida and get out. Good for you, Gov. DeSantis.

Someone who is an adult in the Disney hierarchy needs to step in before it is too late. If Ford can swallow the Edsel, and Coke can drop New Coke while Pepsi dumped Crystal Pepsi and A.M. Pepsi, and Sony dropped BetaMax, and even Apple cancelled the small Newton then Disney needs to jettison the woke culture. Any parent that now lets their kid see Disney movies that are less than 20 years old is a fool.

Is the White House lying even about their response to the baby formula shortage? Listen as White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claims Joe Biden has been working on the issue that she blames on the Abbott Company recall. She says that they’ve been working on the problem for months. Funny that. If they’ve been working on it for months, why hasn’t Biden hasn’t made any public comment on the effort? White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said it was a “top priority” on Wednesday. But then, when she was asked who was the point person on the issue at the White House, Jean-Pierre was unable to say. Some priority.

Incoming White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked who is running lead on the baby formula crisis for the White House? Her reaction was disturbing. During a press gaggle on Air Force One, she giggled and said she doesn’t know who that person is but she’d find out. The reporters took the answer in stride. Imagine if the previous president’s press secretary delivered that answer (and giggle) to such an important question for so many families right now. The baby formula crisis is real and it has a lot of moms in a panic due to the shortage of products on store shelves. Imagine being one of those moms

It’s a good thing, but isn’t it a little odd that corporate America is suddenly silent on such a hot-button issue as abortion? Since the leaked opinion from the Supreme Court was exposed, there has been a deafening silence from the woke CEOs so eager to weigh in on controversial issues. It would be nice if corporate America finally realized that consumers don’t care about the personal opinions of CEOs and resent it when those opinions are pushed on the general public. For example, was it really such a good idea for Disney to come out on the opposite side of parental rights in public schools when its original business model

You all remember the story: the Biden Department of Justice coordinated with the National School Boards Association to arrange for FBI investigations of parents who are unhappy about their local schools teaching racism and anti-Americanism (Critical Race Theory) and gender confusion, and requiring masks. The episode was so sordid that many state school board associations dropped their affiliation with NSBA, and most people doubted that the FBI would be craven enough to follow Attorney General Merrick Garland’s patently unconstitutional directive. But follow it they did. Yesterday Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, acting on tips from unhappy FBI agents, wrote Merrick Garland to criticize the diversion of FBI resources

Hollywood executives are reportedly hesitant about taking a public stance against the Supreme Court’s expected reversal of Roe v. Studio and talent agency executives, who lean overwhelmingly to the left, have become “much more nervous” when it comes to responding to politically divisive issues, including abortion, according to a report from The Wrap. The firestorm Disney is going through over Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law has become a Hollywood cautionary tale and a template of what not to do

California Governor Gavin Newsom on Wednesday unveiled a proposal for a series of tax incentives in an effort to “provide additional consideration for companies leaving states that have enacted restrictions on reproductive rights and anti-LGBTQ+ laws.” The proposal would update tax credits, employer grants and other business incentive programs, according to the New York Times. Newsom’s announcement comes after a leaked majority draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization revealed that the Supreme Court could be poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, returning the question of abortion to the states.

Howard Lake, Minn. — More wet weather is making it hard for farmers across the state to start planting their crops. Some of them say they're at least 10 days behind. "I'm hoping we can dodge the rain events for the next couple days," said longtime farmer Brad Dehn. "If we get upwards of an inch, inch and a half, we could be delayed another week." He says a cool and wet April, coupled with recent storms, means he can't plant corn or soybeans yet on his 2,400 acres of fields outside of Buffalo in Wright County. "I’m a little bit nervous about what could happen," said Dehn.

The dramatic move by Finland was announced by President Sauli Niinisto and Prime Minister Sanna Marin. It means that Finland is all but certain to join NATO, though a few steps remain before the application process can begin. Neighboring Sweden is expected to decide on joining NATO in coming days. “NATO membership would strengthen Finland’s security. As a member of NATO, Finland would strengthen the entire defence alliance,”

Joe Biden tried to lay the blame on his never-ending list of failures on Republicans when he delivered that really weird speech about inflation on Tuesday. He blamed everyone but himself and his inept policies, as is his habit. The Wall Street Journal labeled him “President Constanza”. The speech was that bad. One person singled out as the boogeyman standing in the way of Democrats was Senator Rick Scott from Florida. Scott has been reaping the rewards of Biden’s attack ever since that speech. Scott was interviewed on several shows on Fox News Channel yesterday. Each interview was a chance to rebut Biden’s speech and he took advantage of that.

Let it be known that the politicians of the Democrat Party in Washington are either evil or cowardly with the exception of one. Reports say that Democrats had brought Roe v Wade to the floor in order to codify it into law. The goal was to legalize abortion nationwide up until birth with what would be no limits. As you can imagine, every single Republican voted against this and they were joined by none other than West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin who had indicated that he’d vote against it earlier in the day. This resulted in Democrats being 11 votes shy of what they needed to pass Roe into law.

Months after distressed moms have been vocally upset and concerned about the baby formula shortage, the media is finally starting to ask, how could this happen? The short answer is lockdown supply chains and the shutdown of one of the country’s largest formula plants in Michigan (Snip) Freeman said her clients and industry contacts began noticing an FDA crackdown on European formulas in the last few years, before the lockdowns, but an even greater spike since last August, well before the Abbott recall and plant shutdown that many are pointing to as the source of the shortage.(Snip)In some ways, the FDA seems more concerned about labeling than the nutrients themselves.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced plans Wednesday to spend an additional $57 million on abortions for uninsured, out-of-state residents who travel to the state to have abortions because of restrictions on abortion in their own states. The announcement brings Newsom’s proposed spending on out-of-state abortion tourism to $125 million, over and above what he proposed in January. The new spending comes ahead of an anticipated decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, the controversial 1973 ruling that established a “right” to abortion.
