California Governor Gavin Newsom on Wednesday unveiled a proposal for a series of tax incentives in an effort to “provide additional consideration for companies leaving states that have enacted restrictions on reproductive rights and anti-LGBTQ+ laws.”
The proposal would update tax credits, employer grants and other business incentive programs, according to the New York Times.
Newsom’s announcement comes after a leaked majority draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization revealed that the Supreme Court could be poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, returning the question of abortion to the states.

If it pencils out, and they're pro-abortion, they'll do it. Where self-righteousness and profit dovetail, you're home free.

Even France has a 14 week restriction, and much of Europe is between 12-14 weeks.
Compare that to Mississippi who has placed a 15 week restriction, or more lenient than most of Europe.
Very few people actually want zero restrictions. Most don't want it totally restricted, however.
California is admitting that they don't need Roe or Casey to maintain abortions for their State. It's inconsequential, in other words. New York allowed for legal abortions even prior to Roe (WA, HI and Alaska the other 3).
But, does anyone really think that Newsom really cares about the people in Oklahoma? Besides, they aren't his responsibility or his constituents.
Today's Democrat party are looking like the extremists with their demand for no restrictions, even up-to 9 months.

Yeah, instead of your costs of doing business going up 300% (cost of living, taxes, property), this California tax break will drop that to 296%. Of course, existing California residents and business taxpayers will cover that break, so basically you get to subsidize your competition (for sales, property, labor, etc.).
Well, there's the old joke -- we should be happy we don't get all the government we pay for.

Calif is considering a Bill to allow 'Abortions' for 30 days AFTER birth. It will pass in Sacramento and Gruesome Newsom will sign it.
Any Company that moves to California will be boycotted by 99% of the US population.

Two things I am wondering: (1) if lowering tax rates attracts businesses, why wouldn't California do it anyway? (2) how much would California have to cut corporate taxes in order to be as favorable a tax venue as most red states?

to move to California just to make the statement that abortion is good? anyone who owns a company and does that is mindless
- the negatives of moving to California are far more abundant than the positives

This gives Nonuts a way to cut taxes which is a kiss of death for progressive politicians and attract businesses by supporting a liberal “cause”. He would never cut taxes for any other reason.

California has far more deterrents to moving there than a lack of baby killers. Newsom will be conveniently gone with the usual stash of stolen money before the big implosion. Pelosi is a little more obvious with her early exit but they all know it's coming because they created the problems. Garcetti, Feinstein, all of the corruptocrats. Except for Adam Schiff, he is too stupid to see beyond his own nose.

I think our taxes are safe with this one unless these breaks apply to companies that want to leave CA for all its restrictions on ___ (fill in blank).
