Jill Biden made an unannounced trip across the Ukraine border today for a Mother’s Day visit with Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelensky. It was the first time Mrs .Zelensky has appeared in public since Putin invaded Ukraine on February 24. Jill’s trip into Ukraine makes her the highest-profile member of the Biden administration to go into the war zone. Credit when credit is due. Biden went into Ukraine, something that her husband, the President of the United States, did not do when he was in the region recently. In other words, the first lady is doing what the leader of the free world refuses to do.

You all remember the story: the Biden Department of Justice coordinated with the National School Boards Association to arrange for FBI investigations of parents who are unhappy about their local schools teaching racism and anti-Americanism (Critical Race Theory) and gender confusion, and requiring masks. The episode was so sordid that many state school board associations dropped their affiliation with NSBA, and most people doubted that the FBI would be craven enough to follow Attorney General Merrick Garland’s patently unconstitutional directive.

A few days ago, GOP Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia, and Dan Crenshaw from Texas, were involved in a heated online exchange over providing U.S. aid to Ukraine
Since Russia's incursion began, the U.S has supplied Ukraine with billions of dollars in aid. Back in March, the House and the Senate approved $13.6bn for ‘assistance’ to Ukraine. On Tuesday, the House approved $40 billion more in aid. At the beginning of the month, Biden had requested $33 billion but the House generously offered $7 billion more.
The aid to Ukraine comes as the US, under Biden, is struggling on several fronts.
