IAEA: Yeah, Trump Probably Took Out Fordow

Original Article

Did the B-2 bomber strikes on Fordow accomplish its intended mission -- to shut down the nuclear-weapons development site? Some wondered at just how much damage the strikes caused after the US released before-and-after aerial photos of the redoubt. Apart from six neatly spaced holes in the ground, very little surface disruption could be seen, causing some to question Donald Trump's claim to have eliminated Fordow's capabilities. Not so fast, Rafael Grossi testified today. The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency delivered an assessment of the situation in Vienna, and it should remind everyone of two salient points. First, the GBU-57 bunker busters are designed to create underground damage

It will take 48 to 72 hours to receive the full-spectrum BDA analysis, indicating the extent of the damage. The crucial intel will be the seismic MASINT data. If the analysts detect a 3.5 or greater seismic event at the site, it will indicate that the internal roof of Fordow collapsed and crushed the rooms containing the centrifuges. Less than this amount of damage, and it may be possible to extract any stockpiled uranium, assuming this wasn't moved before the strike.

On the likelihood that our attack wiped out Fordow, I'm not sure the opinion of IAEA's chief is much less speculative than the opinion of IKEA's chief would be. The report of six holes where the bombs entered is encouraging, in that it means at least one went 2 or more MOPs deep. Caveat at end of #1 seems reasonable, though (about the possibility of some or most of the uranium having been moved away from the facility).

#2 I'm sure surveillance (drones, satellites, eyes) have been monitoring the site for sometime and would see trucks leaving and going somewhere

The "before" pictures showed a rather modest fscility (as most of the operation was a couple hundred feet underground) as opposed to a n bustling ground facility like a Buc-cees station with 200 gas pumps and a big ground footprint. And if those bunker busters worked as if they were designed, those sites have a lot of dirt and debris on them. Sounds like someone's got a lot of digging to do.

The Great Land's senior Senator, Princess Lisa Murkowski (R, supposedly - AK), is in the news again, this time suggesting that she might consider bailing on the Republican Party and becoming an Independent. That's not surprising to those of us here in the Great Land who have followed Princess Lisa's career; I'm not enamored of the term RINO (Republican in Name Only) as I think it's far too liberally (hah) applied, but in this case, it certainly applies. As an example, I might point out our last election, in which Princess Lisa tossed Democrat Mary Peltola some props at the cost of Republican Nick Begich III, who ended up winning.

In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court has issued a big win to the Donald Trump administration. The ruling pauses an order from a lower court judge that required the administration to give illegal immigrants a warning before sending them to other countries with which they have no prior ties. The program, called “third-country removal,” was shot down by a federal judge in May. U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy blocked the administration’s attempt to deport a group of immigrants to South Sudan. Shocker: Murphy is a Joe Biden appointee.

Before I complete the first sentence of this article, I'm confident that most if not all who read it can agree on at least one thing: The United Nations — the UN Human Rights Council, in particular —has not only disproportionately condemned Israel, for decades; it has also been inherently adversarial to the United States with respect to many U.S. positions and initiatives, for decades. That said, it comes as zero surprise that United Nations Secretary General António Guterres has condemned President Donald Trump's attack on Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend, while saying zero about the radical Islamists intentionally targeting Israeli civilian areas, including a civilian hospital.

A year ago, the regime in Tehran had the Biden administration cowed into suppressing Israeli action against the country. Iran has told the United States that it will attack Israel directly unless the Biden administration secures a ceasefire in Gaza, according to an Arab diplomatic source who spoke with Jadeh Iran. The ultimatum follows an Israeli attack on an Iranian diplomatic facility in Damascus last week. The source told Jadeh Iran that a ceasefire could also lead to progress on other aspects of the U.S.-Iran relationship. This comes following mediation by Oman between the U.S. and Iran.

Israel hit key Iranian targets in a fresh series of devastating airstrikes Monday, attacking the headquarters of the country’s elite military police force and blowing off the front of its most notorious, brutal prison. The most intense bombing yet of government sites around Tehran came a day after the US joined Israel’s war on thwarting the Islamic Republic from being able to build nuclear bombs. “The Iranian dictator will be punished with full force for attacking the Israeli home front,” Israel’s Defense Ministry said of the latest attacks. Shocking security footage shows one missile strike blasting open the doors of Evin Prison, where the Islamic Republic held its opponents and critics

Jeffrey Goldberg wasn't on the Signal chat this time; hell, there wasn't even a Signal chat between Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and top defense officials that we know of leading up to the Iran nuclear strike on Saturday night. The operational security surrounding the meticulously planned and flawlessly orchestrated strikes on Iran was on such close hold that they were over and our bombers out of Iranian airspace before the mullahs knew about it. It was over before the media knew about it. It was front-page news before most congressional Democrats found out about it. And they're really steamed over it.

"Over 50 fighter jets" targeted and struck "military command centers belonging to the Iranian regime. The sites struck included missile and radar production sites and missile storage infrastructure in Tehran," the IDF later confirmed. During the strikes, Israel targeted various locations in Tehran, which included the Basij headquarters and Evin Prison. The Basij is a paramilitary militia part of the IRGC. The United States designated both the IRGC and Basij terrorist entities.

Hours later, Mr. Trump declared the mission a “spectacular military success,” saying during a national address from the White House that U.S. forces had “completely and totally obliterated,” Iran’s nuclear program. “There’s no military in the world that could have done what we did tonight, not even close,” he said, standing in front of Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The move, which could block $1 billion in oil shipments per day, is likely to send oil prices soaring. It will come into effect pending a final decision by Iran’s Supreme Council. The Supreme Council’s decision must be made by tonight, according to Iran’s state-run Press TV. Medvedev in a ten-point list of reactions characterized the attacks as ultimately ineffective, and that it will blow back on America and Israel in a way opposite than intended, especially as Tehran will now only push harder for a nuke, and allied countries might now simply be willing to supply them to the Iranians, he described.

Trump said Thursday he would make a decision in the “next two weeks” to allow more time for negotiations, giving the sense of reprieve amid fevered speculation he might join Israel’s airstrikes. “Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks,”

Islamophilic Obama thought that the country that vowed “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” had every right to have nuclear weapons with which to carry out those threats.
